I despised reading this exorbitantly priced wreck of a book. Save yourself the trouble and don't pay full price for it; try to rent it or buy it at the lowest possible price.

I read this book to get ahead of next semester because it’s required reading. What a waste.

These four-star ratings are misleading. Tell me you paid for ratings without telling me you paid for ratings.

The title of the book itself is just as demeaning as its content. It’s like those old school “For dummies” books my and mother used to read.

The author seems to assume that the reader is entirely clueless about reading a research paper or exercising critical thinking. The fact that the author feels the need to explain Google in the year 2023 is baffling, not to mention the explanation of PubMed.

It's as if this started as a well-intentioned article to help students and then careened out of control into a condescending mess, presuming that no one knows how to read anything. And why are there six editions? I wouldn't be surprised if a seventh edition is already in the works. Perhaps the author will delve into the "exciting" world of the new and innovative video website called YouTube, where scientists and academics can upload lectures (note the sarcasm).

This book covers everything you would learn after writing just a couple of papers, or even after writing just one. It's nothing more than a shameless money grab.

Tell me you paid reviewers with out telling me you paid reviewers.

This was required reading for my MSN program, and I frankly hated the style. There is clearly valuable content about critical analysis of studies outlined in the book. However, the tone is condescending and pompous. I would rather read a straight up textbook in the third person than this holier-than-thou approach to EBP. I’ll be encouraging my course instructors to explore other text options in the future.
