He’s an asteroid, bursting in through my atmosphere just to explode into a million pieces, destroying everything but him and me, making himself known forever.I don't usually feel so many emotions while reading a novella, but this one made me feel them all: heartbreak, angst, hope, and a lot more.
Love should never mean having to live in fear.
for getting me back up.
I loved the dedication at the beginning of the book and is something I always say, love is love. As much as this book is fictional, it still saddens me that family members and people are still not accepting to this day. I am happy to see that C.L. Matthews covered this issue and turned it into a fantastic story.
Texas is 21 years old and lives with his judgemental, ex-military father after his father catches him in the middle of something private, his father kicks him out and goes to his best friend Primrose, who offers her help. Little did he know he would meet that special, secret someone and have an encounter at her fathers bar that night. Man that scene was on the HOT-O-METER of 10 plus; it could melt anyone panties. Love to have been a fly on that wall.
Hope you love a good pounding, sad boy.” Only a flicker of fear settles over his eyes before he’s simpering. “Do your worst, bartender.”
“Stick that monster in me, and show you’re better than I’ve ever had,” I mock.
After the encounter, Texas doesn’t know how to handle his feelings, so he takes off. The next day he goes to Primrose's house to meet her father and is shocked who is her father is his secret encounter. They both continue to struggle since they are still in the closet. Their attraction and love are instant and head over heels with each other. Devin questions their age gap and his daughter's feelings. Both of them are afraid of people’s reactions in their small Minded town.
Love comes when you least expect it. Instead of searching, it finds you. It slams into you at random moments, first by hitting you in the gut and tugging at the strings inside you that hold all your feelings, and in the end, making sure you realize it’s real. You cannot force love out of someone. It works against that.”
I always love a good M/M romance book. Loveless is one of the best. Action packed for a Novella. I loved the authors writing style. If you pick this book up, Enjoy it.

“You’re fucking perfection, little prince.”
Maybe he’s in the closet too.

Lifeless. Loveless. Pissed.
