Theodora Taylor writes hot books with heart. When not reading, reviewing or writing, she enjoys spending time with her amazing family, going on dating nights with her wonderful husband, and attending parties thrown by others.

Another great vook by Theodora Taylor. Great holiday story where a woman interupts a date and has to take the lady's place!!! Talk about jonesing for someone!!! Loved this book and the characters!! And of course its full of steam!!
So excited the full story is finally here and it was so worth the wait!! Kristal and Hayato deep sigh ... just love them both. They give a little bit of everything and I’m here for it. Passion, with a mystery thrown in yes please.
This series takes you on a wonderful journey that is magical. With a hero and heroine that looking from the outside shouldn’t work. But once you get to know them, you can’t help but realize they are meant to be. Of course, they don’t get this right of the bat. So, they take you a wonderful journey, full of twist and turns. Full of hopes and dreams being fulfilled. It fills you with warmth and hope, and the knowledge that finding love is rooted in acceptance, and a willingness to fight for what your heart deserves.
What do you get when you put a person who can see ghosts and one who knows a person's death date in a Christmas story? You get one hot Christmas story that will leave you wanting more. This book had it all. A sexy businessman and a sweet elf that loves helping people. Throw in a mystery man that had me guessing right up to the end and a couple of favorites, then you got a tale that will melt the snow in Maine. One-click this book if you love romance hot enough to melt your Kindle, with a mystery that will have you all happy inside once it is solved.
I have to say, at first, I was not too fond of Hayato, and I found Kristal to be endearing. I could not wait to see how it would all unfold. A holiday story by Theodora Taylor with a lovable heroine and a difficult and misunderstood hero who will melt your heart by the end of the story. I began to understand why Hayato was the way he was and why he handled things the way he did. I found the story relatable, especially with the music bursting songs in my head as it did with Hayato. He could stop the music whenever he thought of Kristal. Elfin Magic
Hayato and Kristal are thrown together by a making of her own kind. Kristal chases off Hayato's date by her delivery of bad news. This is not the best of circumstances as this leaves Hayato with out his paid for date for the evening and night. I wonder who should take her place? At Hayato's insistance Kristal finds herself as his entertainment for the night, a role they both unexpectantly enjoy. And here their escapade begins...
Twelve Months of Kristal by Theodora Taylor is a beautiful, mysterious and supernatural story. The H/h Hayato and Kristal each have secrets. I loved how we were introduced to them. This totally pulled my attention. Then their attraction, the storyline and the journey. I was hooked. I couldn't wait to see what the next page would reveal. Great characters, magnetizing read! This is an honest ARC review. Check it out. Awesome 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I absolutely loved it! As always Ms Taylor did not disappoint! Loved the journey and loved Kristal and Hayato. The chemistry between Kristal and Hayato was smoking hot. This was a very good story that gave you closure for two of the Nakamura brothers. I highly recommend this book to all my fellow romance readers.
That was even better than I anticipated! I love how the authour has the story going along, and then hits you with something completely unexpected, which, in a love story involving an elf, isn’t an easy feat. These two took some time and convincing to be together, and while they concentrated on their wild chemistry, they came to fall deeply in love <3
I received this as an ARC: Once again Mrs. Taylor comes through with the telling of Kristal and Hayoto story. I definitely got a "His Revenge Baby" crossed w/ "His Everlasting Love" type of vibe. Without giving away spoilers thought Kristal and Hayoto were perfectly matched and through their 12months both truly became whole together and true love and understanding. I loved that with the continuation with this series the readers get to peek back into previous beloved characters. This book gave us an update with No and Lilly and Suro and Tasha. I'll say this again Marian needs her OWN story whether it be a prequel or whatever she is hilarious. Looking forward to Kristo story next.
I received an advanced copy of Kristal and Hayato’s story. Ms. Taylor never fails to surprise and keep me engaged. Not only were the main characters interesting but all the others held their own as well. Another good with a twist
Elfin Magic!!!I loved this holiday series. I got an ARC of the full book and I also was lucky enough to be able to read the weekly and then daily holiday tales/series. This was such a fun and crazy holiday love story. Theodora Taylor is insanely creative and one of a kind.
This was an enjoyable read. I love how Theodora Taylor always gives her readers something different. I loved the story and characters. I was not disappointed. I cant wait to see what she has for us next. Good job, Theodora Taylor!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This story was about Krystal who was an elf and Hayota who was businessman. I love the chemistry between the characters. The story flowed really well. This was a great read. Theodora Taylor didn't disappoint.
At it's core (intertwined with a lot of supernatural crazy), this is a love story about two people who deny the existence of love, afraid of the consequences of love, and feel unworthy of "True Love".
Loving this series! Kristal is an absolute joy to read. And exactly what Hayato needs in his life. Theodora tells a magical tale of love and the journey to get there. We all need the good feels this story gives us. Cannot wait for the 3rd installment!
“His Revenge Baby” is one of my favorite Theodora Taylor books so I had been waiting for Hayato’s story and it did not disappoint.
Hayato and Kristal meet cute in a San Francisco restaurant. She is an elf enjoying her limited time from the North Pole and he is in town on business. After Kristal runs off his date, Hayato find himself intrigued by her. Then very attracted to her. When Kristal takes him up on his forward proposal to take the place of his date, things between them become heated and entangled in a way that neither anticipated. And that is when the fun begins.
These two characters are rather broken but in different ways so the dance of strong attraction and fear between them is pretty engrossing. I enjoyed Hayato’s constant exasperation and passion as they’re layered in a believable way. He is a man carrying burdens and a secret that have stunted his ability to be expressive about his feelings. Kristal is more emotionally expressive and sweet but despite her open nature, she is not very trusting. How every thing plays out between them as the book unfolds is so good and I found their love story to be absolutely sweet. If there is anything to take away from this book Is to take a chance on love and to be open to love.
What the hell was that? It was like reading 3 stories mashed together. One is a hyper erotic story. The next is Santa’s elves living in the real world. The third is the story of paranormal abilities and ghosts. When I stated the book I didn’t realize Kristal was going to be a real elf. Ok, fine but did we need the “I see dead people” aspect on top of magical beings? For me this was a cluster fuck. I was excited to read more by this author after finishing the first 2 books for the Victor trilogy, and I will read more, but I have now decided to stay away from anything by the author that might have mythical/paranormal elements.

It is weeks after Christmas but settling down in a cosy nook to read this novel on a cold winter's day left me in quite a cheerful mood. This latest story about one of Santa's elves and a billionaire Asian hottie is written in a way that only Theodora Taylor can. My interest was piqued virtually from the start, with Kristal and Hayato, two very relatable and beautifully crafted characters and a somewhat mysterious storyline. I didn't come up for air until well in the night - a must read!
This is the second in the Loving elves series, but the first that I read to completion. Reading order is not really important other than that the MFC in this book was introduced in the first book in the series. the MMC was also introduced in a previous TT story, though he was mainly a background character as well. Both Hayato and Kristal have undisclosed supernatural abilities. Hayato goes to great length to hide his from everyone he knows, and everyone he encounters. Kristal, being an elf who therefore cannot lie, acquired her gift when she was adopted by Santa, as he bestows all of his adopted elves with a magical power. They are compelled to use said powers during interactions with humans during the 12 days of Christmas, which is the equivalent of a vacation period, during which time the workshop is transported to a pier in San Francisco, and they are free to eat, drink and be merry. During their first encounter, she uses her power with Hayato's date, resulting in the woman leaving, and Hayato requiring her to take over as his companion for the evening. In the morning she is gone, but he is not ready to be done with her. However, since they met on the last evening of her vacation he is unable to find her, until by chance 353 days later he sees her again when he steps into the office of the company CEO. Once he finds her he is able to coerce her into resuming their relationship for 240 hrs during which time she becomes aware of his supernatural ability. Hayato is an undeveloped character from previous stories, being the brother of a male lead in those stories, so I was happy to see him get his own story. I love reading stories by TT. I have read every one that I could find, and some I have read twice, or more. However I have the same complaint in every book. There are many grammatical and sentence structure errors, and several words that she just uses incorrectly. Also there are sentence disconnects, where it appears there might have been an attempt to re-word a sentence, but all of the previous attempt was not deleted. I don't know if she has the same editor for all of her books, but if she does that person needs to improve their skills. She often uses close instead of closed, and worst is used instead of worse and vice/versa. The worse/worst error is used in almost every single book I have read of hers unless nothing in the book goes from bad to worse to worst. There are fewer errors in this book than some earlier works, but a few persist, and I think it is because both the author and the editor do not perceive them as the errors that they are.
While I've enjoyed some paranormal romance (e.g., Ilona Andrews's Iron Covenant, R. Cooper, Jordan Castillo Price), I tend to avoid the genre as a rule and "Twelve Months of Kristal" is a little out there. The cutesy aesthetic is a definite change of pace, at least in my experience of the genre; however, it did nothing for me. I gave the book a chance because I'd like to see more fat, black characters find an HEA and more interracial romance between two (or more) people of colour. The opening chapter piqued my interest, but in part because the narrative depended on insta-love--or at least, an instant connection, both Hayato and Kristal felt like a set of loosely drawn tropes rather than fully realized characters in their own right. I don't think the episodic narration helped matters because I barely felt invested in the main characters and I struggled to feel anything at all about their entourage as the story moved between Japan, the US (San Francisco, Maine, Seattle), and the North Pole.
The musical conceit might've worked for me in smaller doses, but felt cornier every time Hayato and Kristal found themselves with a new earworm. Song lyrics, symbolic gestures, personal disclosure, and sex routinely stood in for development (of the characters and their relationship), so I often felt that Hayato only appreciated Kristal for the pleasure and validation she gave him and not for her. I like that he at the end, but it lacked impact because there's no real discussion of the stakes for Hayato himself. The last-minute only made the romance feel more impersonal because though Kristal , there'd been no on-screen--and apparently, no off-screen--discussion of the logistics and it seems as if Hayato would have feelings about it . That said, "Twelve Months of Kristal" is highly readable and the lore feels original. With more room for plot and character development, I think it would be a stronger book, but even with some serious themes, it's a sweet, light-hearted romance to squeeze in between Hallmark channel movies and the Netflix Christmas Universe.
Taking the journey with Krista and Hayato was truly amazing. I would love to know how long it took to for Krista and Hayato to reveal their story to you. Because every plot was seamlessly laid out. Hayato being able to see ghosts , to Krista being able to see someone’s love ones death date was really a work of art! The only thing that didn’t click for me and it’s not a big thing, but when it was time for the twelve days of Christmas I assume that the workshop returned to where it was the year before. And if so how was that possible? Any thoughts on that out there?
If you are in the mood for a sweet little read....this is definitely it.I loved the book with No and Lilli, and I was very curious about the other Nakamura brother.I wasn't disappointed at all with this book.I actually liked it even better than 12 days of Krista, because this book isn't so PG lol.I loved Kristal, loved the side stories like Declan's,and I absolutely got teary eyed at the way Dallas's story finally got tied up.That part always made me sad from Lilli and No's story. It was a good read, very satisfying when you are in the mood for something sweet.
A brief interlude, an amazing night of passion, and a disappearance. Kristal never expected to see the enigmatic, charminging business man again. Hayato can't get the unique, one of a kind woman out of his head. Convinced he just needs to see her one more time, he sets in motion a union that will ensnare them both. Twists, turns and heat made this a very entertaining read. Kristal and Hayato were made for each other, I enjoyed every moment of their path to happily ever after.
LISTEN!!! It took me a minute to get into this story but once I did I loved it. I was rooting for Hayota and wanted him to get his love divine, but at times thought Kristal was a bit much (ehhh, with elves I guess you should expect extra). In any case watching their love develop, their two worlds combine, and their connections revealed kept me engaged until the end. Bonus surprise Tetsuro and No!!!!!
Such an original story. Loved the main characters but felt they needed more time alone with each other. A huge part of the story involves side characters that I found difficult to care about. If I'm not getting enough interaction between the main characters it's hard for me to be interested in the lives of side characters. But I will always appreciate Taylor for making her characters diverse. Thank you for that!
I’m so happy Hayato got his happy ending just like his big Brothers did. Wow I didn’t do a lick of housework and almost missed my stop on the train I was so engrossed in this book. The Brothers stories are a must read so everything ties together and is wrapped up in a Christmas present so pretty, it would make our little Elv Kristal proud. Thanks again Ms. TT. We need Hugh and Krista’s story also.
It's very hard to top the first installment. I liked this one but I loved krista & hugh. I loved them because they were hilarious together. This couple isn't as funny and I'm tired of the deeply insecure black girl trope. The feeling inferior & not attractive is played out.
This book made me smile and I could not put it down. I loved the story, the twist and turns, the humor and the love... Ms. Theodora Taylor did the damn thang again. 🎼🎶 I enjoyed the soundtrack also, I downloaded the Beach Boys essential hits. Next, I have to get 🎼 🎶Bill Withers hits also...🎼🎵📖🤓😉😊😷
I don't know when this book was released but I just read this now at the tail end of March 2021. Such a cute story. I love these little episodes. And the characters are such opposites, but they really needed each other and complimented each other. Thoroughly enjoyable read.
I love this authors body of works. This was very different from what she normally writes. This story dealt with elves, Santa, re-incarnated spirits, and people who speak and see spirits. It was slightly confusing as it toggled between the past and present. The chemistry between the two leading characters did not really translate. Overall, it was just ok.
