Two murdered cops. A lone policewoman. One suspect—Jack Widow.
A cold night, in the middle-of-nowhere, in a vast county in New Mexico, a lone patrolwoman comes across a pair of dead cops sitting in their cruiser. And who does she find standing over their corpses? A giant, lone drifter with one stark trait; he is menacing like a nightmare. His name? Jack Widow.
To find the real killer, she’ll have to partner with Widow. What seems like an ambush and execution might turn out to be something conspiratorial and far more sinister.
USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLER - Scott Blade is a Nomadvelist, a drifter and author. He writes the bestselling Jack Widow book series, two of which reached the Top 100 list on Amazon, knocking Harry Potter & Jack Reacher off the top spots, which angered one of the big publishers. Scott wears that fact as a badge of honor.
Scott Blade isn't a traditional novelist who spends his time stuck behind a computer desk in some dreary office. He truly walks the walk. He drifts around like the nomad he writes about, touring the world, writing mysteries and searching for the perfect coffee.
Jack Widow is built in the shadow of Jack Reacher. Widow is ex-Navy Seal, ex-NCIS, he’s also 6’4”, 220 pounds of solid muscle. Like Reacher, Widow also drifts around the US, with no fixed home or bonds to tie him down. He has now reached a non-descript town called Angel Rock in New Mexico in the evening and is walking into town. Three miles out he spots the glowing red of a pair of stop lights out on a desolate stretch of road. Instinct tells Widow that there’s something wrong there, then he sees that the car is a Police cruiser and inside are two dead cops, shot multiple times! Just then, the Sheriff of Angel Rock, Lacy Voss, pulls up in her cruiser, and spotting this huge hulk standing next to two recently murdered cops, immediately pulls out her gun and arrests Widow. It is now up to Widow to convince the Sherriff that he had nothing to do with the murder of the two cops and with his background, he can actually help find whoever did it. That is if the Sherriff believes him!

Scott Blade writes a good story. Nothing Left with Jack Widow ex SEAL and ex NCIS is still wandering the country stumbling upon one problem after the other. This is a fun series if you like the Reacher series and want more like it.
Happenstance, Widow is dropped off in the desert. He comes across 2 bullet-ridden dead cops in their car. With no-one around he investigates the scene. Another fast-paced novel, quick read, enjoy Widow's nomadic travels, finding links to his past and helping solve gruesome crimes are all part of his life. Thanks Scott for another exciting novel.
Once again our hero is off walking when he sees lights over to the side of the road. He goes over after a brief hesitation, and finds 2 people shot dead. He does a quick look over and figures he should leave because these types of instances cause him to wind up cuffed or in a jail cell. Before he could go too far, he finds a cop car pulling up and once again in handcuffs. Poor guy.
However, it wasn’t too long before the cop realizes she knows him and knows he’s a good guy. However, our hero doesn’t know her he thinks. She asks him to help her and he does. Before long they have a call from a deputy about someone shooting themselves. They leave to meet them at the hospital before heading out to his hotel room to figure out what’s going on.
There answers are gotten and more questions arise. Isn’t that always the case with our hero? Over the upcoming hours they trace things back to they guy who shot himself and his daughter. Questions start to get answered and more arise…. It goes from helping someone to making a traitor pay.
Then at the end, our hero finally realizes where he knows the cop who asks him to help… and it’s from one of his past lives. An important life changing event made them meet in the past and will always have them connected.
It was great to see him with a background which was positive and it warmed your heart while breaking it at the same time.
I love the narration of Alan Philip Ormond, he always makes the characters, and plot to come alive in your ears.
Widow finds himself walking on a quite road at night, when he sees lights over to the side of the road. He goes over after a brief hesitation, and finds two police officers shot dead. Knowing his luck he figures he should leave because these types of instances cause him in a jail cell. He does not get far when a police car pulls up and once again he is in handcuffs.
The office is the Chief of Police and knows him, though he can not place her. Instead of of cuffs Widow finds himself helping. Before long they have someone shooting themselves. Who be trusted, who is not on the side of the and law. Can Widow find a young girl and save the day.
Another excellent Jack Widow book! Hitchhiking through New Mexico, Widow suddenly gets dropped off near a small town. On an unused road going into town he finds two state troopers in their squad car riddled with bullets. Who should show up, but the Chief of Police. She seems to know him, but he doesn't recognize her from anywhere. Part of the fun of the book was Widow trying to figure out how he knows her. It quickly turns out that these cops are filthy dirty and the case isn't going to get solved without Widows help. These guys were just cogs.
Ok, so that was misleading…Widow has decided to check out all things aliens (the out of space kind) in New Mexico when his ride abandons him just outside a small town. He comes upon two murdered cops…then the police chief shows up and she recognizes Widow. Good thing otherwise he would have been arrested…yet again. Working with the Chief, Widow soon uncovers a network of dirty cops who are engaged in kidnapping for blackmail. Of course, the bad guys don’t stand a chance against Widow…and just like Bond, Widow gets the girl at the end.
Here's another situation that Jack Widow finds himself in while wandering the roads of America. Suspenseful and headed down another road where he feels compelled to set straight. This time it involves a little girl. There is nothing too big to take on. He has to save her life. Also ends up working with someone he met briefly when he just got out of Annapolis..... I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT where I know her from! This is always at the back of his mind, until the end.... Then it all comes back and he remembers.
It is great to have Jack Widow back. I have read every book in the order they were written and thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. I never give away the plot line and I remain amazed as to how different every book is. I am really looking forward to The Protector which will be published in Winter 2021. A big thank you to the author Scott Blade and from me another well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Since Lee Child has retired and passed writing of Jack Reacher to his brother, I have come to like the Jack Widow series more. The last two Reachers were disappointing but not so the Widow books.
Jack is dropped off in New Mexico in town close to his real destination, finds some dead cops and comes to the aid of the local chief of police with whom he has a history he can't quite put his finger on where from until the end of the book.
Enjoyed this book, as stated previously the more books in this series I read the better they get, can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Hope more Jack Widow books are available soon cause I’ve read through the series non stop, which is nice but it means that I have to wait for more books now. I do recommend this book.
Great read. Great characters both good and bad. Voss was excellent, professional as well as trusting of Widow. Widow was a big help, more as a teacher than a cop. Voss trusted him and moved him through the hurdles. He certainly was helpful to Janey and her father. On to my next great read.
I’ve read all of the Jack Widow books, and they just keep getting better. Make sure you carve some time out when you start, because you won’t want to put it down before you finish. Looking forward to the next page turner!
I love Widow's sense of justice in that the bad guys get their comeuppance. As always a good read that holds your attention from the first page until the last.
A good thriller that has Widow caught in circumstances of a murder scene by the local Police Chief who knows him from past experience while he himself cannot place whereby she knows him. Good storyline although it action packed until near the end.
I’ve not put them down since starting them. I’ve read hundreds if not thousands of books by many good writers. Blade is among the best. Widow is the new badass in town.
This story of bent cops is almost unbelievable but is so true. Sometimes those who pledge to serve and protect are the ones who commit crimes for gain.
Such a good read. Action packed. He can not go anywhere without trouble and criminal activity finding him. Moving on to the next book. As always keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you.
Another good story in the series, not as good as others for me… starting to think that they may be running out of new material and they seem to be a similar story in a different location… will see how the next couple of books go….
Another great Jack widow read these books never fail to keep me reading. They get the heart pumping.Get on board with this series of books you won’t be disappointed
Brilliant as usual. I’ve read them all, 1 to 16. If you can see past the vague similarity to the “other Jack” then they are really good reads and make you look forward to reading the next one in the series.😁
Very standard Jack Reacher book. No new twist. It doesn’t take long to read but it’s “flat” as far as dialogue. Just same story/- but it’s getting old.
