USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLER - Scott Blade is a Nomadvelist, a drifter and author. He writes the bestselling Jack Widow book series, two of which reached the Top 100 list on Amazon, knocking Harry Potter & Jack Reacher off the top spots, which angered one of the big publishers. Scott wears that fact as a badge of honor.

Scott Blade isn't a traditional novelist who spends his time stuck behind a computer desk in some dreary office. He truly walks the walk. He drifts around like the nomad he writes about, touring the world, writing mysteries and searching for the perfect coffee.

It's dangerous on the roads at night. On the other hand things can be even worse... The Protector by Scott Blade is the latest adventure in the Jack Widow series and it's fantastic. I really like this "Nomadvelist" I have followed him for a good many years now and he still writes a good story. Widow gets stuck in one difficult situation after the other and thankfully he has the time and background to deal with them. In this book he is almost run over by a driver and then he saves his life only to be asked to save a womans life. Then it's action, coffee and suspense. Followed by coffee, Jack likes his coffee.

As Widow gets into the protective mode for Kara and her six-year-old son Christopher, he finds the people he is up against are far more formidable than he had thought. Will Widow be able to win this battle?

The series grows with another great read by author Scott Blade.

Fast paced. Easily Read. Great plot.

Downloaded, started, and finished, the same day.

Jack Widow was almost run over by a car. The driver is having a heart attack and driven to a tree.

Widow saved him by calling 911. This person is a retired Marshall and need help

Kara and her child Christopher are in off the book witness protection. Widow sit and watched Kara at work at a diner, when bad guys arrived with guns.

They escaped and run.

Kara was in troubled because she was born in a bad family.

The later part is good action with graphic killings.

Nice one.

Great book

The main star of the book Jack Widow, is a Reacher style good guy. Tough, very well trained and hard to kill.
The story has plenty of action, a little romance, and a great style of writing from the author. All in all a very good read

This is book 17 of the series.

In this one, our hero has been dropped off in the middle of no where and nothing was around and he’s been walking for hours.

He hears a car and hopes the person will pull over and pick him up; however, the car aims for him and he has to jump out of its way. The car crashes and he goes over to help or at least find out what’s going on. He finds the driver slumped over the steering wheel. He gets him out and finds he’s not doing so well and uses the guys phone to call for help. He finds the guy is a retired law enforcement officer. He briefly wakes up and insists the guy help him protect a woman and child as someone is coming for them. Help arrives and they go to the hospital where he gets told again to go help the woman.

He feels bad but tries to piece together the little information on the woman. He eventually finds what be thinks to be her and waits. Then a few guys arrive and he figures out they are there for her. Thankfully he gets them out of there only to find they now have the son. With little planning and a lot of shooting, he gets the son and hauls them out of there with minutes to spare.

They end up going to an old partner of the law enforcement guy…only for them to find them there. They now know for sure there’s a leak some place. The old partner is dead and the woman and son are taken.

Our hero and the retired law enforcement guy team up to get them back. Will they? Or won’t they?

The aftermath of it was interesting but good. Now I have to wait until the new book comes out for the next installment.

finished 30th august 2022 good read three stars i liked it kindle purchased....with funds provided by a gift card had been trying to limit $ spent on kindle stories this year to offset other expenses gas way more expensive inflation 72-cents for a cucumber and the garden isn't producing much although will have about two gallons of salsa by garden end so the tomatoes are hot and heavy. have read most if not all of the jack widow stories and have enjoyed them all there's some gruesome scenes in this one not for the faint of heart but maybe we're all tainted from gilligan's island and hogan's heroes maybe i was eating yellow squash and grilled chicken thighs when the heads rolled? will have to see what else blade has on offer...maybe the digital library has something. i can always recommend. works. onward and upward.

Fast moving thriller.

A good fast moving thriller and storyline that has Widow being a Good Samaritan helping a retired Federal Marshal who almost hit him with his car while suffering a heart attack. The request was to save a former biker women and child in a witness protection scheme from the gang of killers whose mission was to take her back to the gangs HQ for punishment. Widow achieved this aim and uncovered a corrupt FBI agent albeit with help from the Marshal once recovered as much as possible from his hospital stay. All in all a good fast moving thriller storyline and read remembering that however well your trained it’s highly unlikely that a single person could achieve what Widow did.

Good read! Another Jack Widow tale written in the first person. This book keeps the action coming, well done. Once you are in to the story you are hooked up for the ride. I enjoyed most of it, except he wanted too much drama in the last two chapters and went overboard in my opinion. Come now, a shotgun shot in your direction and you don’t get some pellets? NOT! Running out of gas on a motorcycle? Did you expect gas in their compound? NOT! Kara would need hospitalization after how he set her up.

"The Protector," the 17th installment in Scott Blade's Jack Widow series, takes a simpler approach with a first-person perspective from Widow himself. The narrative kicks off when Widow rescues US Marshal Fry, setting the stage for a fast-paced rescue mission. Tasked with saving Kara, a woman whose witness protection cover is blown, Widow faces off against a menacing cultist biker gang. Unlike Blade's usual style, this book is shorter and focuses on relentless action, making it an engaging and swift read, steering clear of the usual narrative fluff found in the author's works.

is Widow ready to settle down?

Jack Widow, former NCIS undercover investigator and Navy SEAL, now a drifter, is almost run over by a car. When the car crashes, Widow goes to the rescue and finds a retired US Marshal in distress. The Marshal asks for help protecting someone. This leads Widow on his latest quest to protect a single mother and son from the Irish mob and a vicious motorcycle club. Lots of action, blood and gore…and maybe Widow has found a forever family??? Another great book!

Another great Widow book. Always look forward to a new release. As usual Jack is walking down a deserted road in Arizona and almost gets hit by a car that he thought was stopping to give him a ride.

The driver "Fry" sends him on mission to protect a WITSEC member and her child in a non stop action thriller.

Wouldn't it be great if "Reacher" and " Widow" met and found out if they are truly related!

Acton Packed

As usual, Scott Blade gives you an action packed story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. My family knows not to come near me when I am reading his books. They will get dinner when I am done! hahaha I love all his characters; and, the story lines are always different with a twist. Can't wait for the next one!!!!

I really start to hate this author! The books keeps getting additive and take me less time to read them and end up having to wait longer for the next one! This one was absolutely keeping me on the edge with the need to turn pages! Thanks to the author for sharing his great talent with us and please do not stop! Widow is a keeper!!

Widow almost gets hit by a car driving erratically, which ends up running into a tree. The driver is a retired US Marshall, and he had a heart attack. He had someone in Witness Protection and she had been found out. Now it is up to Widow to protect her and her son. Not an easy task since the Irish mob and a motorcycle gang are involved. Possibly the best Widow yet!

Another great read. I have read every book in the Jack Widow series and I have never been disappointed. This book was no exception. The author, Scott Blade, always writes in such a way that it is very difficult to put the book down. A big thank you to Scott and from me a well deserved 5 stars. I am really looking forward to the next book, The Kill Promise. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Continued excellence

Jack is walking the roads in rural Arizona when he is almost run over which leads him to become involved in protecting a witness protection client. A motorcycle gang and part of the Irish mafia team up to track down and capture the witness. Fast paced and action packed.

What a hero.

Having read all the previous Jack Widow books, suffering withdrawal symptoms, suddenly realised I'd somehow missed this one. What a happy day this was, but, unfortunately, was only one day. Could not put it down, Scott Blade does it again. Now the long wait for number 18. May he never stop.

Once you start, you can’t stop

I started with the first book a while back, and have been a fan ever since.
This book is a non stop, action packed adventure you just can’t put down.
Any of these books will stand on their own, but do yourself a favor and start at the beginning.
Then carve out some time, because you won’t want to stop.
Thank you Scott for yet another fun read!

I finished it front to back. I liked the story, but it’s a lot like following a Jack Reacher book with less hand to hand fighting.

The story kept my attention, and there were parts that were well written and made me want more of Jack Widow. I’m going to fine another Widow book and see where it takes me. There is a lot of unwritten stories for Jack. I hope to find it!

How have I missed Jack Widow books?

This is my first Jack Widow book. A fast paced read with great characters. Widow gets himself into and out of tough situations. I think I'll read all of the Jack Widow books. This seems to be a stand alone series as I didn't feel like I had missed any backstory. I hope I'm right!

Can you get help from a stranger?

What a great read. Great characters in this story. All were worked up pretty good down to the very last one. Widow worked this story really well above and beyond what he has done in the past. No wonder you can't put it down. They just keep getting better and better. Only 3 books left what will I do?

I love this style of writing. Similar to the Thousand Dollar Man, Zeb Carter, and Cutter Grogan books. Lots of action, suspense, and likable characters. Deep down I really like when justice is served. Because justice matters.

Widow never disappoints

Widow lives up to his reputation - a decent guy minding his own business but when trouble knocks - he answers and sorts out the bad guys.

An action packed tale that was very enjoyable. Scott Blade really turns up the heat in this book!

An excellent book

I have binge read all seventeen books. Once I started reading the first book I couldn't stop I had to read them all. Jack Widow certainly gets about. There is plenty of action in these books. I can't wait to read the next one.

wow

What a great read. Wishing widow will stay in one place for a little while, but I don’t see that happening. It would also be nice to accidentally run into his father. Simple dreams. On to the next book. As always keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you.

It’s pure fiction but it’s pure thriller. If you want a nail-biter, sit on the edge of your seat kind of read, pick up anything by Scott Blade. His main character, Jack Widow, is everything you could ever want in a leading man.

A little slow in the beginning but, Window comes through

I’ve read Scott’s books before. No errors, well researched and the plot twists fit. Jack Widow is who we all wish would come when things go south.

Jack Reachers twin

Well written, captivating storyline, Jack Widow is like a bull in a coffee shop, with just a lot of more intelligence. Loved the story, loved the book, loved the character. Well done Scott Blade.
