I really enjoyed the Love Desired series because of the wonderful diversity and highlighting of cultures that Verano incorporated into those stories. The Arrangement, the second book of a new series, "Privilege & Prestige", is proving to be just as inclusive and engaging. I will warn you, this is an adult read. It is erotica and contains scenes of BDSM. Verano does a great job of capturing the emotions of the characters and creating characters that every reader wants to support. The story is well-written and thoughtful. The pacing is perfect for the story and the plot keeps you engaged until the end.
Xiomara has been matched for an arranged marriage that will benefit her family as well as the fiance's family. The problem: Xiomara is in love with Lake Chambers and a decade of separation hasn't done a thing to dampen the fire that Lake kindles within her. If only Lake felt the same. Or does it even matter anymore? After all, he made it crystal clear that he wasn't what she was looking for...and her place at the helm of her father's company is more important. Lake Chambers caught a glimpse of someone who looked like Xiomara. Just a glimpse had an unquenchable fire ignite in his veins and his old remedy to smother the flame isn't working.

Great HEA with a hot Alpha book boyfriend
The Arrangement was such a good HEA read. Lake is a young NBA team owner and Xiomara (Z) is a young tech exec that looks to follow in her father's footsteps. Z is set to be in an arranged marriage, set up by her overbearing father to a man she doesn't and will probably never love. Lake has no intention of settling down unless it's with the one person he let get away when they were younger.
I liked watching Lake and Z finally fight to be together, despite how their families felt. There were times when I wanted to shake both Lake and Z; Lake for being too pushy at times and Z for not standing up for her heart sooner. But, in the end love prevailed.

There’s a little bit of all of that in this story of Xiomara Sheffield and Lake Chambers. Lake and Xiomara were friends for years, until they crossed a line.

Xiomara and lake were teenage best friends until unrequited love came between them. Years later Xiomara returns to take over her father's business as expected of her and engaged to Russell. Lake wants to start again - a second chance and is prepared to take down the wall Xiomara has built between them. Will Lake be successful as he has been in business so far? Will Xiomara put her obligations aside for Lake, for that second chance or will she take the road her parents have mapped out for her and lose herself on the way?

Cassie Verano has dropped another page turner! Xiomara didn't necessarily agree with her family's cultural beliefs on arranged marriage. But for the sake of not disappointing her father and her career, she went along with. Then after 10 years, she sees Lake Chambers and they have unfinished business.
Such a delightful sensual read! The playlist was awesome too! This author never disappoints.

Lake always knew that he wanted Xiomara at a young age but was too afraid to go after her. 10 years later Z comes home, with the intentions of taking over her father’s company and to get married to a man she doesn’t love in a Arrange marriage. Lake decides it’s now or never. He knows it about the arrangement and he’s going to do everything in his power to make sure that she picks him in the end.

Xiomora & Lake are fire and ice and them coming together is a beautiful test of wills that had me enthralled from beginning to end 🙂.
The entire cast of characters supported these two in their discovery of what they both deserved. It was a story with the right amount of drama and push/pull and I enjoyed every minute of it 😊.
I think you will thoroughly enjoy this book.

Ms. Verano does it again. This story about Xiomara and Lake, takes the reader through ups and downs of an emotional roller coaster. So many times, you just want to scream at them to see the truth, see what's right in front of them and to demand what makes them happy. This story is tells what love really should mean and how we deserve to have it in our lives.

So good!
I loved Lake and Xiomara's story. He didn't give up on who he wanted and she kept her mind open to the possibilities. These love scenes are something else...hot! Cassie always comes through and she didn't disappoint here!

I was so happy when Xiomara (Z) came to her senses and gave Lake the chance he deserved. I was happy to see them get together and make a life together. Arrange marriages aren't for everyone. Cassie Verano, this was a nice quick read...
