Oh my word. • Where to even start? This book was so so fun!!! • First off, fae! I love stories with fae and faeries and magical beings but so often their full of...yuck. 😂 I loved how Lindsay handled everything, from a dated bond, to attraction and desire, to what love really means, it was all perfect. It left me with butterflies and without the uncomfiness of TMI! • Secondly, CELTIC FAE?! YES YES YES! I love Scotland. The accents, the moors, the legends and myths surrounding it. Lindsay did a fantastic job of weaving it all into a fae world. With two worlds that mirror each other, she wove just enough knowledge about each other’s world into Aislinn and Kieran that it didn’t feel rushed or confusing. • Ugh and the siblings! I LOVE healthy sibling bonds! Love love love. And Lindsay delivered. Both Eamonn and Catriona are the SWEETEST siblings. Their support and love of their sister and brother just melted me (plus I think I lowkey am in love with Eamonn just saying 😂) • All in all, a delightful read! If you like faeries, magic, and a slight Beauty and the Beast retelling, I recommend Fate Calling! • Ages 14 & up Five out of five stars 🌟
Y'all. There are no words to describe how I'm feeling right now. Like none. I don't even know where to begin with my review.
To say that I loved this book would be an understatement. From the moment I started it, the world around me ceased to exist and I lost all track of time. The word responsibilities was removed from my vocabulary and I could not devour this book fast enough. Talk about fast-paced, action-packed and swoony! It was incredible!
Aislinn (pronounced Ashlynn) and Kieran were phenomenal! I found myself rooting for them from the moment they met. There journey was definitely not sunshine and roses. After going through so much heartache and pain, both of them swore they would never fall in love. But a little thing called Fate had something else in store for them.
I loved watching Aislinn and Kieran's relationship develop. Unlike a lot of urban fantasy books, theirs was not an insta-love. It took time and they struggled with feeling the way they did towards each other. There was a lot they had to deal with and I loved that they went at their own pace. Their love story is definitely one of my favorites.
For me, a great book includes some pretty amazing side characters and this one was full of them. I think I loved Eamonn and Catriona the most though. They loved their siblings unconditionally and were fiercely loyal and protective. I can't wait to get to know them better in the next book. It's already downloaded and patiently waiting for me to devour it.
Y'all. I was shocked when I discovered that this was Ms. Grace's debut novel. Had it not been for me looking her up on Amazon, I never would have guessed this was her first book. I love finding authors who are born with this kind of talent. She's definitely one I'll be keeping my eye on. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next!
As for my casting, it took a little while or me to find them but I am seriously in love with these two! What do you think?!
I ended up really enjoying this one! It's been awhile since I've read a fae-based story and it was fun going into that setting again.
Aislinn and Catriona are kidnapped and taken into a portal that transports them to the Otherworld, full of fae. Some are good, some are pretty evil. Luckily, they are quickly rescued by brothers Kieran and Eamonn and taken to their castle sanctuary.
The story is heavy on the romance between Aislinn and Kieran, its a big focal-point, I did like that it didn't have that insta-love feel to it. Despite their connection, I felt their feelings developed at a believable rate (ok, maybe it was helped along with the bond they felt). They have a lot of ups and downs though and seem to get into one scrape after another. I liked them as a couple and thought there was good tension and chemistry. You can't help rooting for them.
I liked Catriona and Eamonn and wished their characters were developed a bit more. Given more dialog or had their personalities brought out more.
Overall, the world-building was good, I felt like we were in the Otherworld, the creatures were pretty unique and there was lot of excitement going on. The plot was good and well-developed. I liked that there wasn't a huge cliffhanger, but definitely leaves some unanswered questions and I look forward to reading the next book to see what will happen next.
Content Rated PG13 for violence Romance: Kissing, implied intimacy - closed door Language: 2 curse words Violence: Battles, death, quite a bit of that but nothing overly graphic or gory
I really enjoyed this book. I wish there was a little more world building but I did enjoy the fast pace of the book. The author did a great book with making you be able to connect with the characters.
This is one of those books where the story is going to roll around my head. I also would totally read it again! That’s how I know I loved it.
Kieren...swoon! Aislinn...brave and self assured! *yes the names are weird but I got past that* This is a great combo for the leading couple. My friend described it best when she said it was “action packed!” My heart pounded so much and there were times that I was holding my breath. Literally. I really enjoyed that it wasn’t instalove. Can’t stand those. Loved the side characters. They were all great. His brother was so loyal and amazing. The love and support for family in this book really got me.
I can’t believe this is this authors first book?! If you love a action packed fantasy with romance(clean)... then this is for you!! You’re welcome.
From the first page, this book grabbed my attention, and I couldn’t stop reading. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it! I was a bit worried about the length of the story, but honestly it seemed to go by so fast because I was constantly on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen and feeling all the angst, fear, wonder and dreamy sighs this book evoked. Kieran and Aislinn were such fantastic protagonists, and the story was intricate enough that I never quite knew what would happen next. Now excuse me while I jump right into the next book!
The cover of this one is absolutely beautiful but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong, I think many would like this. I just had difficulty in imagining the setting since there really wasn't any description of the architecture, culture, and peoples of the land (and I need all the help I can get with fantasy). Lindsay did a great job with the creatures that resided there.
Fae, elementals, shadows, seers and Scottish highland love story? Yes please. It was fun and interesting. There are some style things I didn't prefer and the end was DRAMATIC. But it hit a lot of my fated mate trope favorites.
The main mc is pretty violent and broken in a dominant way but the lady is fierce.
This book is full of basically everything I love in a faerie story. a nice, clean, enemies to lovers romance with lots of passion, adventure with danger, and very likable characters. I really love this book and so can't wait to read the next one!
Aislinn and Catriona Morgan are sisters looking to start a new life in Scotland after the death of their parents. But when they fall through a portal and discover the land of the Fae on the other side, everything changes. Aislinn is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her little sister, even make a bargain with Kieran, a darkly brooding Fae prince. Unfortunately for Aislinn, things are more complicated than she knows - especially where Kieran is concerned.
Okay, so this book was a really lovely and solid start to a fantasy series! It was very fast paced, and I do wish there had been slightly more world building, but I still really enjoyed reading this. I really loved how the author blended Celtic mythology with her own twist on Beauty and the Beast. The action was also very well written!!!
Aislinn was a strong main character, and I liked how protective she was of Catriona. Even though she’s young compared to the Fae, that doesn’t make her any less capable. As for Kieran, he’s got a lot of layers, and I liked watching Aislinn slowly break down his walls. He’s also willing to move mountains if it means protecting Aislinn, which I loved. All in all, I would recommend this book to any fantasy romance lover.
"Sometimes the heart is unpredictable.. and sometimes we love without meaning to."
The gorgeous cover and fascinating blurb are the reasons why I want to pick up this book! Suffice to say this book was definitely enjoyable for me.
A very quick read and simple plot on a magical land with enemies to lovers romance. I really like the writing style and the multiple POVs really help me to know more about the characters and their thoughts which makes the story more dynamic.
However, I wish the world building is being more explored since I would love to know more about the history of the place and their fascinating magical creatures that were mentioned here and there.
As for the characters, they're likeable and also easy to connect. Both Aislin and Kieran have similar characteristic. Both are struggling to open up more about who they really are and how they feel which results the tensions and banter between each other despite the bonds that bind them together. I admit at the beginning, I thought both of them are going to have an instant love relationship because of the bond, but they're not and for that I am so glad!😂
"We both know life is full of heartbreak and loss. But without love, our lives are also lonely and empty... and I don't want to live like that anymore."
I also wish we could have seen more interactions and information regarding the secondary characters, like Eammon and Catriona because they also play a vital role for the main characters as well. Maybe we'll see more about them in the next book!
Overall, for a debut book it was a very enjoyable and entertaining read for me. What a good book to start a series! I'm looking forward to read the next book, Fate Rising to know what happen next after that surprise from the last chapter!
A huge thank you to the author, Lindsay Grace for giving me this digital copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion, also thank you to Book of Matches Media for allowing me to be a part of the book tour!
4/5 This books AH is so good! But, whew the romance was really passionate, but it was still clean and it was done in the right boundaries (if that makes sense). A longer one will come for the second book!
Characters: I love the character development that occurred throughout the book! Watching Aislinn let her guard down little by little, and how her perspective grew and change. Kieran’s character development was the best in my opinion, argh! Catriona, Vel, Eammon, Isla, Ronan and all the other good fame’s warmed my day.
But wait, can we just talk about the biblical parallels….in the next review!!!
This story was a fast-paced romantic fantasy adventure from start to finish! Complete with star crossed lovers, swoony fae warriors, fated mates, prophesies of "the one" and strong family ties.
I loved that we were provided with dual POV's from both our MMC and our FMC. The romance was sweet (fade to black style), and definitely swoon-worthy.
I loved the dangerous and crumbling Fae world and the relationships between all the siblings. Excited for book 2!
I'm giving the first half of the book a three, and the last half a five. Settling on a round four stars. I grew to like the characters a lot, especially when they started letting go and becoming real-time with themselves and others. I sure would like to know Catriona better. And now I desperately need the next book because wow, what an ending! Content: violence, death, peril, kissing.
I’m at awe! This book held a perfect combination of enemies, magic and love. The ideal description that the author provided of everything in the Otherworld, vividly helped shape everything in my mind! Definitely adding this book into my all-time-favorites list!
The fact that this book is a clean, YA Fantasy romance is a breath of fresh air! Most fantasy books these days (yes, I'm looking at you, A Court of Thorns and Roses) are so inappropriate that I regret ever reading them. Thankfully, I don't harbor such regrets about this book!
I was lucky enough to receive a ARC copy. I absolutely loved reading this story. I can’t wait to find out what happens in book 2. I love books about the Fae and this one delivered. A great 1st book
Beauty and the Beast meets Celtic Mythology in a breathtaking tale of love and adventure. ”
Well I am a massive beauty and the beast fan and I love a good retelling of said fairytale so when I read the above I just had to read it and OMG it is fantastic. An exciting and enchanting read that once you pick up you will not be able to put it down. The world building is incredible and so beautiful and the characters intriguing and the storyline gripping and draws you in hook, line and sinker! A fantastic magical adventure full of good vs evil, mystery , suspense and romance and i am so excited to read the next book!
When I saw the synopsis for Fate Calling, I was intrigued as I love fantasy and romance.
The story starts with Aislinn and Catriona, who are still mourning their parents death and take a hike to Black Cuillin Mountains. On that fateful night both sisters are taken into the fae realm and the real adventure begins. When Catriona is taken, Aislinn has to make a deal with Kieran in order to save her sister. Kieran and Aislinn are the opposite and are both in the situation unwillingly, which is perfect for this slow burn enemies to lovers arc.
The writing was detailed and informative. The story and the development of where it was all going played out well, it was fast paced enough to enjoy the story The character developments throughout the story are well written and thought out. Each character felt like they had a purpose.
I would recommend this book to fans of romance, fae, fantasy and adventure. I am already reading book 2 of the series and can not wait to see where the adventure takes us.
Thank you to the Author for the eARC of Fate Calling in exchange for an honest review.
When Aislinn and Catriona are taken into the fae realm, their fate falls into the hands of a broody prince/rightful king. Instead of letting them be devoured, Kieran saves them and comes fate to face with his fated mate, Aislinn. It's a connection that neither of them want. All Aislinn wants to do is return to the human world and Kieran just wants to live the remainder of his days alone.
Kieran has a dark past and still struggles to control his powers. Because of this, he can't risk having a mate. Aislinn hates the idea of living in the fae realm. She wants to return him with her sister Catriona. But when Catriona is taken, Aislinn will do anything to get her back, including making a deal with Kieran. Whether she likes it or not, he is her only hope of getting her sister back.
With a fate that's intertwined, it's hard for Kieran and Aislinn to ignore the connection between them. The worst part is that the more time they spend together, the harder it is to fight. When push comes to shove, Kieran and Aislinn will have to rely on each other to save Catriona and either accept or ignore that path fate creates for them.
Kieran and Aislinn go back and forth a lot and it makes for a slow-burn romance. I love how strong Aislinn and her dedication to her sister. FATE CALLING is a unique fantasy fae romance that stands out among the others filling the market. I love when people are destined to be together, but try to fight it anyway. It's one of my favorite tropes. Kieran is a brute, but has a heart underneath all of his anger, which makes him that much more likable.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this book to fans of romance, fae, fantasy, intertwined fates, a connection that's impossible to fight, and adventure. FATE CALLING is a great series for those looking for unique fae reads while waiting for the fifth Sarah J. Maas book to come out!
What can I say... This book has captivated me from beginning titl the end. I don't know if words will do justice to the feeling of this book, but I will give it a try.
The story begins with 2 orphaned sisters (Aislinn and Catriona) who go on a hike to Tír na nÓg because this place holds special memories. The sisters set up a camp for the night, but they are kidnapped by a creature when the portal to the Otherworld opend and they are taken to the land of the Fae. Both sisters manage to escape from their captor with the help of 2 very handsome, but also mysterious brothers Kieran and Eammon and Aislinn and Kieran immediately notice a deep attraction towards each other. Kieran and Aislinn are both affraid to give in to this attraction. Both have their own reasons for trying to fight this growing attraction. The book is written with dual POV's from both Aislinn and Kieran. This keeps the story interesting.
The love between Ailsinn and Kieran is slow burn but intens. But the author managed to make it a very sweet and deep kind of love. There were fade-to-black moments where you know that there is intimacy but it's not explicit so I still consider it a clean read.
What is important tot know is that the land of the fae isn't a happy place in this book. It's a dark world wit lot's of dangers, fight and blood. It's not extreme but the book contains some sad moments. That is why I would rate this book PG 13.
The story ends with a cliffhanger, but nothing too nerve-wrecking.
Did I mention Eammon and Catriona? They are side characters but play a very important part in this story. You cab just feel the sisterly love between Aislinn and Catriona and the brotherly love between Kieran and Eammon. I am so rooting for a spin-off where Eammon and Catriona find their love. But the series isn't finished yet so who knows? This book was just incredible.
I received a free ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest reviews. All opinions are my own.
I pulled this one out of my book shelf a few weeks ago to add to my imminent TBR because it’s been lingering unread for some time. It’s the first book in the Celtic Fae duology and I believe is the author’s debut novel. This is a very quick read with a simple plot, an enemies to lovers romance and all the usual fantasy tropes with all manner of faeries and creatures in this magical Scottish inspired world. The world building is a little sparse, I would have liked to have seen the world explored in more depth and much more detailed descriptions of the fabulous Scottish Highland setting, which is one of my favourite story settings. The characters are likeable, the relationship between Aislinn and Kieran is kept very clean but I believe book two is a little bit spicier.
Overall an enjoyable and entertaining book, it’s a quick and fun read and the perfect palate cleanser between heavier reads. I will certainly be reaching for the next instalment to see the duology through to its conclusion.
Talk about action from the get go. This is a fast paced, action packed fantasy adventure.
A YA portal fantasy where two sisters are stolen away to the Otherworld where they are thrust into a feud between brothers for the Seelie Crown.
A tortured, guilt ridden Kieran finds his soul mate in Ash and they have a hard fought battle in realizing their feelings for each other.
Sister banding together with sister, brother against brother and loads of other magical, mythical Celtic creatures.
A fade to black, chemistry melting m/f fantasy romance with loads of magic, elemental magic and creatures. A battle to save the Seelie throne from a corrupt ruthless brother and a battle of the heart. Soul mates are my favorite and these two break my heart with their resistance but they do come to see the true person beneath the bond.
I was happy to read this arc. Definitely can’t wait to read book 2!
I really enjoyed this book. The journey you go on while reading this has a lot of ups and downs but it’s really good. The character development was solid and the pace of the story didn’t feel too rushed. There were parts that felt faster than others but I always feel that way during action scenes. * * * * * Aislinn annoyed me initially with her inability to show emotion but the further along in the book I got it wasn’t as bothersome. Kieran frustrated me when he made Aislinn go home near the end because he thought he was protecting her. I’m very glad that she came back and stood up for their bond. I’m very curious to see what happens with Torrin. It was confusing when Lorcan became the main villain at the end. I know that there were issues between him and Kieran but he’s not the one I was expecting the main fight to happen with. Now im looking forward to seeing how Kieran and Aislinn work together since she is fae. I hope we see more character growth in Catriona in the second book as well!

*I was given the opportunity to read this book for free for an honest review*
If I could give this book more than 5 stars it would have to be a billion. Honestly It’s been a long while since I’ve had a book pull me in and keep me on my toes. I absolutely loved it!!
This book captured my attention from the first page. I was sucked in and mesmerized. It’s a wonderful story that keeps you on your toes with twists and turns around every corner. Aislinn and Kieran have this sizzling chemistry that keeps you rooting for them.
The writing is amazing. You get sucked into this other magical world and you never want to leave. I highly recommend this book!!!!!!
This was a great book. Aislinn and her sister just wanted to spend time and get over their mothers death. Next thing they know, they are kidnapped into the world of Fae. To make matters more complicated, Aislinn finds her fated mate, Kieran. Both fought against the bond and other enemies before they realized that fate would not be denied. I can not wait to see what happens in their love story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
