Sit A Spell: Cat's Eye Cove, Book 1

Rate this book
Sarah Sanders’ life has fallen apart—she got laid off, dumped (and thereby evicted), seemingly all at once. But, an impossibly well-timed invitation to visit her aunt in charming, coastal Cat’s Eye Cove, Maine is exactly what she needs. When she arrives, however, things are not quite what they appear. From the powerfully attractive real estate developer who just came into town, to the handsome twins who run the local hardware store, and even to her own aunt—everyone has secrets in this idyllic small town. Will Sarah be able to uncover the truth, or will she be overwhelmed by a power beyond her comprehension?

An extremely fun read! I cannot emphasize enough how much I wished I lived in Cat’s Eye Cove.

Engaging

Enjoyed Cat’s Eye Cove. The secrets of the people and town unfold slowly and there’s plenty of self reflection. I wanted to tell Sara to believe in her self and her choices and not wallow in insecurity but we all do that at some point right? And the second book promises to be, or I should say I hope it will be, Sara coming into her strength of femininity and womanhood regardless of who she loves. Aunt Rose’s character drove me a little nuts with her habits and foibles and I wanted her to be stronger than her scattered brain activities showed. That might be my own personal preferences and not having enough patience and compassion for someone my age or older? Hope this author continues writing!

DNF at 21%, about the time the main character referred to herself as a "stupid girl" for the... 6th (?) time.
