Reaper Being the Prez of the Satan’s Keepers MC has its perks. Women throwing themselves at you happens to be one of them. I usually have a steady flock of ladies I can choose from, but one night at the bar there’s a sassy woman who stands out more than the rest. Suddenly, no one else matters. She’s hot, spirited, and has a bangin’ body. It’s a one-night stand and that’s all I think it is, until I find out where she works. Suddenly my one-night stand becomes someone I’ll be seeing on more than one occasion. Ivy has a hard time swallowing that pill, but she’ll get used to it. If she doesn’t, I’ll just have to do whatever it takes to change her mind.
DNF @53% p67/126 Chapter 10(Reaper) Ok. Ew. No. Just no. This is not it. Reaper is a straight up presumptuous Dick. And Ivy has literally said she’s ‘not like other girls’, but lets him walk all over her because he says a couple nice ish things. And the writing style. Oh my god. Can we not with the rambling and the repetition and the complete bullshit that spews from these dumbass characters mouths?…
I wasn't so sure about this one at first, but it turned out really good. It was fun to read. Instant loved sort of. I now need to read the next book after the way this one ended.
I love this author so much and everything she writes turns out fantastic. We get another MC and this first story starts out with a bang. Reaper, as the Prez of the MC, has women throwing themselves at him and he’s never in it for more than one night. But a one night with a nameless woman throws Reaper off kilter and he can’t stop thinking about her. Ivy starts a new job as an office manager at a garage but the owner is the one night stand from a couple weeks ago. That doesn’t fly and he flips out on her. With Reaper and Ivy it’s one miscommunication after another. When the MC’s rivals start making moves and Ivy‘s past collide will Reaper be able to protect Ivy?
All of EC Lands books now feel like chapters. I'll keep reading as long as they are free on kindle unlimited. But they won't get much more than a 2 star review. I wish she would flesh the characters and story out more rather than trying to publish as many books as possible. She's a good author.
The book started off great, felt like the author was trying to show Ivy as a cool girl a bit too hard but nothing I couldn't handle. The three stars are just for the fact that Ivy was not a blushing virgin and Reaper wasn't a whore. The book really went off the rails when the badass strong chick hid behind another dude while the H was yelling at her then scurried off as per his instructions. Slept with him after he broke into her house and accused her of being shady(working at a biker garage while being a cop's daughter, said cop was dead) The part that really pissed me off was when she told him that no one drove her jeep but her, as he was with his bike, but H downright ignored her screams, threw her on his shoulder and gave the key to his brother who delivered the Jeep plus a tag it didn't use to have.(idk about you all but someone touch my property when I specifically tell them not to, is gonna get their ass beat or at least a cold shoulder not a dramatic yell to the clouds and then forgotten) I should also mention that the guy went from calling her a strange(one night stand, abandoned, unnamed woman) to claiming her without her permission halfway through the book. All this happend during like 60% of the book after which I stopped reading.
The story was good and the characters are interesting. I liked the back and forth between Reaper and the female lead. Reaper was scary and a bit over the top once he decided that he would claim her. I mean who breaks into your home to talk about your father being a police officer? The lead female is a strong woman but for Reaper she is a push over. There has to more to Claws ( she is the club bunny) who setup Reaper. There is a good ending for the lead characters however the author built up some angst at the end to lead to the next book. Read On!
This book was amazing I could not put it down. Reaper had one night with Ivy and he had no clue she was going to be working at the shop he worked at. To say he lost it when he found out is putting it mild. Ivy is a strong woman who is a strong woman who is strong. Then trouble comes looking for Ivy and Reaper who lost many people in the pst couldn’t lose here. I love the brothers in the MC. Can’t wait to see what happens next
Goodness! What a fantastic way to start a new series! Reaper and Ivy are total opposites that fit perfectly together. Their journey was suspenseful, thrilling, sweet and super steamy. I enjoyed their fiery banter, their explosive chemistry and their undeniable connection. I cannot wait to see what comes next for the Satans Keepers MC.
2.5* maybe one day there will be a book that’s got the great premise and potential but is longer and more flushed out. Can’t get behind events that are just told to me I need to see the characters develop throughout the story not just ‘the past week has just…’ or ‘the past few months have been a whirlwind’. Show don’t tell please.
This is the first book I've read by this author, and I had several issues with it. It's the first book in a series, but must be an offshoot of another series because there are multiple characters and past events that we, as readers, are assumed to have knowledge of. The writing style has the unique characteristic of somehow combining short, choppy sentences with a rambling storyline. Too much is told about instead of shown. There's an odd scene that's quite graphic of a guy who manages to speak in complete sentences despite being hideously tortured. And I'm not a language prude at all, but certain swear words and derogatory slang is eye rollingly over used.
I wanted something short and over the top possessive. Reaper gave me that immediately. He fell hard and fast and didn’t question his feelings. Loved it.
This is the first book in the Satan's Keepers series but like E.C. Land's other books they all link together. You will have heard some of these characters from Tyres and Rissa's story.
I have to say though I love Reaper. He's the President of Satan's Keepers and has no need or want for one woman in his life. However, a one night stand with the gorgeous Ivy seems to be one night he can't forget or get over. Ivy is a Daddy's girl, raised by her single father who was a cop, after he dies Ivy only has her friends. She's starting a new job, little does she know the one night stand she's been unable to stop thinking about is her bosses boss. Yes, Satan's Keepers own the garage where she has just become office manager.
Reaper wants her gone, he can't stand the thought of her being around him, apart from the club's policy of not getting involved with employees he doesn't want one woman to be his. Resisting Ivy is impossible though, even after confronting her about her dad being a cop he still ended up sleeping with her again. He finally admits she's meant to be his and stakes his claim for all to see.
Troubles with Ivy's uncle and one of the clubs P&P's put's Ivy life at risk and Reaper won't lose anyone he loves again. He'll fight to have his HEA with Ivy and bring new life into his club.
This series of books is a great quick read. Most I can get through in a couple of hours so when you’re short on time and want a good story with alpha men who’ll do anything for the woman they love then these books are for you. You get a great story, with some drama and a nice HEA to finish it off. Bonus, you get to see the characters pop up in other stories.
I do recommend reading them in order, as the characters overlap over the different series and MC clubs. You’ll be lost with who some people are without the background.
I didn't realise I've already read a book from this author until I did a little stalking. Turns out I've read a book of theirs from 2020. Hated it then too however I was already 86% through with the book and decided to just finish it.
I don't want to sound harsh but I will be honest. Nothing personal against the author, I just don't like their style of writing. I don't mind insta love stories but their was no chemistry with the main characters. I mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say, I have not seen a drier couple than these 2. Not even the sex scenes could save them.
He just picks her up at a bar and boom, he's fallen for her. They hook up two more times, BARRLY exchange dialogue and all of a sudden he's moved himself into her Home. UHHHHhhh hello red flags much?
My second point of contention with this book was the spineless fmc. She was so useless, she could've been a lamp bc thats how unforgettable she was. Also the whole "im not like other girls" trope? Yuck 🤮
Plot was weak as hell. I wouldn't rate so low unless there were some major transgressions that I couldn't get past and while this book didn't reach that point for me, there was just nothing redeemable about it. There were no funny or sweet moments, likable side character or riveting plot. Nothing....
Sorry to this author. I'm sure there are plenty of people who enjoy this style of writing but I am not one of em and will avoid any books with this name attached.
This book starts off the SKMC and boy oh boy does it pack a punch. Ivy after losing he dad moves and gets a job working for the club. Reaper president, cocky, arrogant, and has a temper, but has also has suffered a tremendous loss, along with his Brother Angel. When he meets Ivy its supposed to be one and done but when he sees her again at the shop he blows up and from there this book takes off. With each page comes a new twist and the more they find out about each other the more you want. With a crazy uncle after her will she be able to open up to Reaper? Will she tell him all her fears and see where she stands? Will Reaper be able to set a side his guilt and show her who can really be? This book was freaking outstanding. It had the right amount of twist, turns, emotions, drama you could want, but has everything else in between. I so can't wait for the next to what happens.
Wow I need to know when the next book drops I'm hoping sometime soon I loved this book I wanted more of it I love the play of characters I was drawn into this one and I don't want to leave
Best thing about this short story is that Ivy is a strong woman who surrounds herself with some badass friends. I really wish this author would take the time to actually develop her characters so that we knew more about their personalities, friendships, and details of their lives.
We have already met some of the main MC guys in A Demon's Bliss, featuring Bethany, Tombstone's daughter. You should really read that story before reading this one because a lot more will make sense, since facts that are discussed there are only briefly mentioned here, causing some confusion if you're not familiar with those details. Very few of this author's stories are actual standalone--previous details of stories that should be included in new releases are usually omitted, which is frustrating. I used to read each of this author's stories with great excitement the day they were published. But lately I let them stack up for several months and then read them all at once, finding that I get a more complete understanding of the over-arching story that threads through all stories by this author.
Here's an example of some of the confusion in a passage about Mia De Luca's relation to some of the main characters in this story-- “…wondering which cousin has come to see me. Ok, so they’re technically not my cousins by blood, but their sister, Ronaele, was. Her father had died before she was born, and my father allowed Jeanna to move on to find her own happiness. I love my aunt. Before she died, Jeanna made sure to stay part of our family. Meaning her other 3 children became family....” — So from this passage, we know Ronaele is Reaper’s sister, what is relationship between Mia’s father & Ronaele’s father? Not explained here. Who the heck is Jeanna? We know she’s Mia’s aunt, but how does that explain how Reaper is her cousin? Just taking the time to write a few more sentences would clear up the consistent confusion one feels when reading one of this author's short stories.
You have to think of this author's works as more of a serial, and not fully developed actual books. That's why I save them up to read more chapters at once rather than rushing to read them on the day they're released as I used to. Don't get me wrong, the over-arching story is fabulous. I just wish Ms Land would spend more time on each story to more fully flesh out her characters and give us a more complete picture of the plot.
Fast paced, novella w surprising detail - ❤️ series so far!
This is the first story in the Satan’s Keepers MC series, which is a new series to me, and the first story I remember reading by E.C. Land. I personally DO NOT consider this to be a stand-alone read, as there are multiple reoccurring characters, concurrent/consecutive timelines and overarching themes. There are also references to details that cannot be adequately recapped within another story.
The novella is well-written and has a fast pace, although I can always use more character descriptions. The series is based on a 1%er MC and contains dark, darker, and some how even darker themes. Sensitive readers need to read the trigger warnings and take the warnings seriously, as this is definitely not the series for them. I included a high-level list below of subject matter found within the series.
I really wish there were a few more details, but I have absolutely loved this series so far. Maybe it is because of the poorly written series I tried reading prior to this one, but I have really enjoyed how well written these have been so far. There were just some incorrect punctuation and incorrect word tenses, but nothing difficult to interpret.
I just want a detailed reading list for E.C. Land’s stories, as this is the first series that I believe I have read by her. The problem is I really want to read the stories of characters that crossover from a previous story, but can’t seem to locate which story they could have originated.
⛔️ SERIES contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges with anxiety, depression, PTSD, suicide, etc.; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, spanking for pleasure and punishment, restraints, sensory deprivation, voyeurism, exhibitionism, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, gun running, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, arson, drug use, drug addiction, drug manufacturing, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females and/or women in the children, etc.
One night stand turned, epic romance, motorcycle, running from Family for the female, she has found family.
Recap: Ivy is the daughter of a cop who was killed in a gun down and we think there was more to it, but who has inherited family money and her uncle thinks it belongs to him and he is crazy so she moves and has a found family with her girlfriends. On a night out to blow off some steam she has a one night stand with a biker, not knowing he was reaper the president of a motorcycle club. When she gets a job at a garage because her dad taught her how to take care of herself and fix cars and that’s what her passion is not knowing that it belongs to his club. She’s working one day and he walks in and it’s a shock to them both. He wants to fire her, but his brother tells him how much she needs the help and she is good at the job. Reaper starts to be drawn to her, and she feels the same way for him. There’s a lot of attention and eventually feelings overturn and he answers her on the desk at work. They start to fall for each other, and he instantly knows he wants her as his old lady, and he never thought he would say those things. He has drama from his days in the military. When she gets into an accident caused by her uncle trying to kill her he becomes even more protective. She ends up in the hospital and is in a coma for a little bit to recover. They also find out that she is a month pregnant and it most likely happened the first time on that one night stand. They capture her Uncle and he demanded to be let go because of higher powers whatever that means they end up killing him as he deserves. They confirmed that clause one of the bunnies that was super jealous and caused drama and was kicked out it was behind the accident. At the end her best friend Sutton is kidnapped and she receives a phone call from her mother who has never been a part of her life and apparently didn’t want kids. She is a piece of shit and they find out that she was cheating on Ivys Dad with his brother who tried to kill Ivy. Ivy storms in to church and tells reaper and the guys what has happened to Sutton and the VP stands up and declare her his woman and that they need to find her, he can’t lose another woman! This goes into the next book…

I will probably reread it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: I absolutely loved this book. ******************************************************************************Rating: ⭐⭐

Tropes: ONS MC Romance MF Romance Suspense/Mystery ****************************************************************************** Summary: MMC is the President of a MC. He has a one-night stand with the FMC and cannot get her out of his mind. FMC and MMC are reunited when she is hired as office manager of the garage the MC owns.
Review: I went into this book wanted to love it. The premise is good but for me the execution was off. The FMC who we come to know as one who is independent and strong keeps getting run over by the MMC and what he wants. He moves into her home--just decides this is what he wants, and she is like ok. She doesn't allow anyone to drive her Jeep he has his club brother drive it and she is like--ok. To me it was just a bunch of disrespect time after time. I wanted to see the love story, and it was hidden in the other stuff.
Also, this book mentioned a lot of things that happened in previous books. I looked up the author and she has several mc books. But they all intertwine--which is something I would have loved to have known prior to reading this. It may have made for a better reading experience,
This book ended on a cliffhanger which I assume will lead to a book about the friend. However, in my mind that story could have been started in this book.
I love mc books and have read many of them---this just fell flat for me. I purchased two other book by this author and will review them at some point.

Maybe 2.5 stars Short read, interesting story, ends in a cliffhanger (not for the MC couple’s romance, but friends). So Reaper (aka Daniel) was a huge ass. President of the MC, he claims to be the man all women want to fuck and he never gets attached, yada yada. Ivy, 27yo daughter of a cop who was killed, mother ran out on them when Ivy was young, and her paternal uncle is threatening Ivy for her inheritance, so messed up family, yes. Ivy claims to be a nature loving, rock climbing, ATV riding kind of girl rather than a mall shopping girl. She fixes cars and started working at the MC garage. So Reaper and Ivy have a one night stand where they don’t even exchange names, it’s been 2 weeks since and Reaper can’t forget about Ivy and is shocked to see her at their club garage. He’s an asshole and immediately tells her to leave. Ivy who is supposedly all brass and balls cowers behind another MC guy then listens to Reaper and leaves. Uh ok. Then when Reaper shows up all pissed at her home the next morning (breaking in at that) she gets mad then has sex with him and he storms out. Then Reaper goes to get Ivy from work the next day and tells her he’s moving in and she’s now his “ol’ lady” just like that. Does Ivy fight, nope, not really. So Reaper really just stormed in and took over Ivy’s life and she’s cool with it. I guess the sex is that good… I also hated how on her first “I love you” Reaper says, “I don’t love you” - I mean he goes on to say it’s more than love, but dude, you can love her and still say it’s more.
Aside from a jerk dude and kinda pushover gal, I guess their romance is sweet…I mean nothing says I’d do anything for you then pulling out the eyeballs of the man threatening to harm your girl. Right?…..😬
I don’t know if I want to continue this story. It has so many positive reviews, but I just don’t see what other readers did. I like an alpha, but the beginning just painted Reaper as an asshole instead of an alpha.
Keeping Reaper (Satan's Keepers MC #1) by E.C. Land is an outstanding start of a new series, these bikers are raw dirty, edgy and take no prisoners, but when they love, their love is all consuming as you follow the ride or die journey between Reaper and Ivy.
Reaper is the President of the Satan's Keepers MC, who lives life on the edge, the losses from his past still haunt him and has made Reaper a dangerous, violent man. Reaper has women constantly throwing themselves at him, but when he zero's in on a banging young woman at the bar, he ends up having a one night stand that will leave him reeling, wanting more. The encounter between Reaper and Ivy will be the beginning of a fast, raw sexy experience. Ivy is a strong independent sassy young woman who enjoys time with her girls, loves her jeep and dirt biking. When Ivy starts her new job as office manager at the garage that the club owns, fireworks erupts when Reaper finds her at her desk and he explodes telling her to leave. Ivy is shocked and angry as her one night stand is her boss who is a rude angry man who she could not stop thinking of. He is outraged to learn that her father is a cop but doesn't get the full story until he is told by his brother Angel to read the file on her. Now Reaper has to make things right, but these two will have a hard time communicating, when Reaper breaks into her home to apologize they start to argue he accuses her of being shady and a cop's daughter but the passion between them comes to the forefront and they end up in bed as these two are about to have one hell of a ride together as Reaper informs Ivy he has claimed her as his. The fiery banter between these two is heartwarming, love the interaction between Ivy and the other members of the club who have embraced this feisty young woman. When Ivy goes up against a club bunny who has set up Reaper, Ivy stands her ground as she takes this woman down as Reaper looks on elated that Sky has claimed her man.
As their relationship intensifies, danger is lurking when a rival MC causes problems as well as Ivy's Uncle who is after her inheritance which will put her life on the line. So many twists and turns in this story that will have you on edge. Will Reaper be able to protect her as he vows he won't lose anyone he loves again. If you like your bikers who are larger than life dirty talking sexy alphas, then Keeping Reaper is a must read. Can't wait for Tombstone's book.
*** 3 1/2 Stars *** Keeping Reaper is the first book in the new Satan's Keepers MC series. This is a nice introduction to the MC and the President, Reaper. When Reaper cannot stop thinking about the woman he had one night of fantastic pleasure he knows he is in trouble. But when he actually finds out that she is the new manager of the garage he owns.....well things don't quite go smoothly. Ivy is a young woman who is running from a past and trying to start over at the same time. She has a new job as the office manager for a garage that she is looking forward to, as she knows she can nail it. What she was not expecting was the owner, who she never met, or so she thought, turns out to be the guy she had a fantastic night with a couple of weeks before. Then he turns out to be a complete a$$hat to her. But she is not about to back down and run away. But there is more coming with this story as the overarching story-line and characters are just starting with this series. I enjoyed this fast-paced and entertaining story. It is a good introduction to the new series and I am looking forward to the next book to see what happens.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
First things first; I love the cover of this book! Keeping reaper is the first book in the ‘’Satan’s keepers MC’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and action packed. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. Keeping reaper is the first book of EC Land’s that I have read. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Reaper is the president of the Satan’s keepers MC. After losing a lot of loved ones, he isn’t looking to settle down. When he meets Ivy, he doesn’t expect to end up wanting more. Ivy is new to town and has landed a job at a mechanic’s garage. She is attracted to Reaper but will she give him a second/third chance? The chemistry between Reaper and Ivy is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked both of their attitudes. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
Okay this book was very fast paced. I’m giving it 3.5 stars because with how fast it was, I still felt like a lot was left out. Especially with the ending, I’m sure we’ll find out more in Tombstone’s story, I’m just confused especially with the bomb drop that it was Ivy’s mother who took Sutton. Ivy’s surprise at Tombstone’s declaration that Sutton was his. It would be nice if we saw that the girls came around the clubhouse a lot more so we had an idea of whether or not the guys were catching feelings for any of Ivy’s friends. I wish we got to see more of Ivy being a bada**, the author made it a point to write Ivy’s character as “not your typical girly girl” and it would’ve been cool to have some scenes with her working on cars in the shop, even while pregnant. I’m interested to see how the author will tie in the loose ends in the next story, or if it will be just as fast paced with minimal details and info.
As pres Reaper could have his choice of any woman who throws themselves at him but after a one night stand he only wants one. Ivy had just moved to town after losing her father and went out to celebrate her new job, a celebration that ended with a one night stand who left her alone the next morning. Ivy never expected to see him again until she finds out Reapers her boss. Reaper doesn't mix buisness and pleasure, when he finds out Ivy is the new garage office manger, his reaction is one of anger, but when it settles he has already decided she will be his, only Ivy will take a bit more convincing. But with trouble brewing with rival MC and Ivy's past collide into their path can Reaper keep Ivy safe? Well written book 1 in the Satans Keepers MC series that joins EC Lands incredible universe! With suspense, desires, action, club drama, steamy hot scenes and more!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ivy and Reapers story is filled with miscommunication, The most explosive passion over and over again for Ivy and lots of groveling with a spiciness that will leave you quaking! Oh YES! I really connected with Ivy she gives off airs that she is ok but really she knows who and what she wants! She knew Life is hard but she was striving to become a better Her (Did I say that right?). Reaper he was a bit quick at first and the hilarity that ensued at the shop was just the beginning of a absolute joy of a RIDE! So get your pump on and let Reaper pump you full of...King Size.. Herculean... Massive... Dauntless...…(Most Amazingly Flawed Man who just wants to live how he lives and take care of those men and women who count on him)….Heart! Yes this is an incredible start to another great series! I loved this story and am looking forward to more from you!
