Before I began reading this novel by Cindy Gunderson, I checked it out on Amazon . You see, I wanted to read the blurb; get an idea if it was the sort of thing I might enjoy. Well, I must say, the blurb hooked me in totally. I enjoy a good mystery, but the premise of a protagonist waking up every morning with no memory of her life - and being blamed for a murder she's powerless to deny - thoroughly intrigued me . So, with a glass of wine in one hand and my Kindle in the other, I curled up on the sofa and began reading.
It took me three evenings to finish the book and, when I did, I set it down with the knowledge I just discovered a very talented author. The mystery was complex - but not too complex I couldn't follow it - the characters were engaging and fully formed, and the ending took me by surprise – always a good sign with a murder/mystery. I also liked Mia - her strength of character and wily ways – and I loved how the author got on with it, no messing, from the very first page.
So, if you enjoy a superbly crafted mystery, if Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz or M.M. Chouinard’s Dancing Girls sit on your bookshelf, then there’s a very good chance you will enjoy this. There’s plenty of twists, plenty of interesting characters, and plenty of suspense. Excellent ingredients for any mystery novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from cover to cover. Just the right amount of intrigue and believability. I connected with the characters and stories like this always bring about that fear of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Way to connect to that to get me emotionally invested in Mia.

This book was a different twist on a murder mystery. Written in the first person perspective it gives a boost to the emotions in the story. Mia has a neurological disorder that has her unable to remember anything after nine o’clock in the evening. Not a good thing when you wake up with blood on your hands and no idea how it got there.
I loved Mia’s determination to get to the bottom of what happened to Phil. With the help of her best friend Sarah, after Mia is accused of murder, she sets out on the journey to clear her name.
Dealing with new relationships, new clues, and blanks in her memory she perseveres in her search for the real culprit. Can she solve the mystery? Or will she become a target?
This was a great book given to me by the author and this is my honest review.

I Can't Remember is a great novel from Cindy Gunderson about Mia a girl with a neurological disorder what makes that she can't remember a thing after nine o'clock in the evening . Her struggle with this and everything it entails is moving to read. It is an exciting book and a lot of bad things are happening and unfortunately Mia remember nothing and can't prove her inecent.It touched my heart to read how Mia coped whit everything what happened. And it's heartwarming how people reach out to help here. It is a good very well written story. It continues to fascinate you to the end

I couldn't put it down! I read this book in two sittings! As each character was introduced and developed, new potential twists and turns kept me constantly curious and guessing what would happen next!
I continue to be impressed with Cindy Gunderson's ability to craft a completely unique cast and tale with each of her books. If you haven't yet read her Tier Trilogy and "Yes, And", I highly recommend those as well!

July 19, 2020I thoroughly enjoyed this book... it kept me guessing about what had happened, in a "whodunit" mystery with a great twist because the main character, Mia, can't remember the scene of the crime she witnessed. The first-person perspective was very well done, and made me feel like I was figuring things out right along with Mia as she worked with friends and family to get to the bottom of that fateful night. A great read.

I read this book all in one day, it's that good. It was gripping and especially terrifying in the climax. Also, the premise was very interesting, with the main character not being able to remember anything at night, and it made the entire story very intriguing as the audience learned alongside the character.

This was ok, I was able to figure out who killed Phil way before it got to the end of the book. It wasn't hard to guess even though you do find out more of why toward the end of the book.

I love Cindy's books, because there's always something you don't expect! I love the way she develops her characters and the dialogue between characters.
I don't generally read mysteries, but I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read, and a fun read!

a page turner!
This is my first book by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. The plot has tons of twists and turns. The “amnesia” the main character has is unusual and it made the story even more interesting. It’s a complex yet sweet mystery.

Points for originality with the MC’s neurological condition, causing her to forget everything that happens each day after 9 pm. Falsely accused of a murder, she has to put pieces together from a night she doesn’t remember. The story flowed well and kept my interest. However, the solution to the crime was too obvious: the author made the perp way too suspicious from the beginning. Not your twisty mystery! Some of the writing was stilted - adding too much detail about mundane things that didn’t add to the plot. Also, the reader of the audiobook wasn’t the best - she mispronounced words often. It was, however, a clean book. Just a couple kissing scenes and no language (that I recall). Overall an enjoyable listen as I did chores around the house.

It was fine. I’m definitely not the audience for it. It felt very immature, but I’m an adult, so duh! It was predictable, but I still liked the story. The main character’s neurological condition was fascinating.
