Have you ever been so exhausted you feel it deep in your soul? After twenty-four years living in this seedy town and six years in the business of serving seedy men, that's me.
So. Damn. Tired.
Every day, I dream of becoming a wanderer — me and my trusty home on wheels taking life on the road. Every night, I striptease to turn those daydreams into a reality.
Bikers from around the nation ride in for Gulf Coast Bike Week every spring and fall. Under the thumb of a local motorcycle gang, the dancers at Tit for Tat Saloon take good care of them.
"Dance for just one more motorcycle rally," I told myself.
That was three years ago, before I was claimed by a member of a rival club. Twice a year, he visits me along with the rest of his brigade.
While they are here, I tend to their needs.
This season, though, hackles are raised; local outlaws are whispering concerns that Hell for Leather is up to no good. A buzz of weariness in my bones warns that this hidden agenda will affect their favorite saloon girl.
Trouble is, I care. Too much. The men who make up their group will get me — all of me. Willingly. Regardless of how it chips away at my already-damaged soul.
"Dance for just one more motorcycle rally," I tell myself.
Adell Ryan is a hubby/wife pseudonym. Adell writes unconventional love stories about fierce women and their numerous male suitors. Because let's be honest, we need more than one to satisfy our multi-dimensional needs. Right? Ryan simply puts up with Adell's crazy fantasies and toots her horn regularly. Occasionally he'll add in a shoulder pat, and a deep, sexy "Damn that's good stuff."
That southern boy (bless him) stole this northern girl's heart and they live together in the deep south, raising their three boys. When Adell isn't writing she's homeschooling — primarily working on dictation, making sure they say 'creek' instead of 'crick' and 'fire' instead of 'fer.' She also dabbles in photography and graphic design. Oh yeah, and reading. Every. Night. Much to Ryan's dismay. Sometimes she puts the steamy stuff down and gives him a quick kiss on the forehead though.
Leather & Lace is the first book in Adell's new Hell For Leather series. We met Lace back in the Burnout series so you will remember her if you read that. If you haven't read that series, well first off you totally should, but it's ok. You won't be lost. There are just a couple of crossover characters. So quick rundown without giving anything away. Lace is a dancer at Tit for Tat Saloon, the strip club owned by the local MC. Obviously this is not where she plans to be all her life. She's just biding her time. She's almost ready, just one more bike week to make it through.
The guys in this book come from the Hell For Leather MC. Now this isn't your typical MC. At least not when I think of MC romance books. These aren't Harley's. These are what I call crotch rockets. I'm totally not a motorcycle expert or rider or anything so don't yell at me if I call something incorrect. So anyway, back to the book. This group of guys come to town twice a year for bike week. They always make sure to pay Lace a visit while there. Due to the logistics of how the club came about and all that (read the book, I'm not telling you) these guys always tend to stir up some trouble while in town. This bike week though, hell, trouble is an understatement. Our girl Lace gets caught up in the middle and her whole world gets flipped around.
I absolutely adored this book. There are multiple POV throughout the whole book which I love. It's a great way for us to meet all the characters and get a true feel for them. I have my favorites for sure and some, maybe one, that I know I will love eventually. He's just being a big butt right now. LOL. This book will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat or bed or wherever you are reading. You won't be putting it down and going to sleep that's for sure. Such a roller coaster of emotions. It's a slower burn on some of the relationships but that does not mean it is lacking in the sexy times department. That one scene in the club, holy smokes!! Then there is that ending! I didn't know whether to cry, scream, throw something. I just kinda sat there like 😲😨😱😢😭. Now I'm dying for the next book b/c I absolutely HAVE to know what is going to happen next.
Lacy feels older than her years. She loves her job but knows it's not forever. Stripping is the means to an end. The end being the road. She plans to work one last MC Rally, then she is taking off, leaving this town behind. This year the rally feels different. Emotions are heightened, tensions increased, danger in the air. Lacy's not the only one with secrets.
I love RH. I love MC. I thought this would be my alphabet dream. I was disappointed. It took the entire book to set up the story. And it was depressing. The characters all seemed a little too used up. It wasn't bad and has great potential but this book didn't live up to my hopes. The world-building was solid. It was dark and seedy. I liked the various POVs. I do feel that each voice was unique and completely owned by their biker. I love the concept of being owned by the entire MC. The execution of the story fell short. You have the reluctant member (expected), one member who seems more interested in her friend than in Lacy (HUGE ISSUE), several who like Lace but seem happy with any warm body (not cool), the virgin ( over the top), and the stalker/psychopath (no complaints). The cast works, the concept works, but I wasn't drawn into the story. I was told how to feel instead of experiencing it myself. There's plenty of mystery but no sense of direction. I never lost myself, so ultimately the characters and their relationships never became real. Lace was the most authentic with her little sister. If the author can bring her alive and build off of the last scene the next book could be quite good.
The first 1/3 of this was rough. There was a lot going on and I was getting confused. It’s one of those introductions where if you went back to read it after finishing the series you would understand the importance of it all.
The second half was good though! Intense, angsty. I have no clue who is going to be in her harem or what their real feelings are. It’s all so messy and complicated and I am here for it!
I love the way the h is such a caregiver with the guys.
I just wish this book stood on its own a bit more. It def just feels like it’s purpose was to be the “ set up”.
I don't even know where to start. So much happens in this book and I'm already beyond ready for book 2. Lace is a surprisingly relatable character that I want so bad to reach her goals. The guys are all very distinct and easy to recognize personality wise. There's hard partying, steam that *chef's kiss*, and a whole lot of questions. Plus we get a couple cameos from our favorite Burnout characters. I loved every second of reading this book! I only wish there was more.
I am not a Motorcycle Club reader. I have read a different series by Adell Ryan that kept me riveted so I thought, what the heck...let's she where she goes with this. Boy oh Boy I was pleasantly surprised. It makes me want to go read more along the genre to see if others are as good as this. Adell did a great job of building the story so you understand everyone's quirks and makes me excited to see what happens next.
The next 9ish months will be a hell of waiting for book 2. Lace is a dancer just trying to get through life. Her personality is so carefree and loyal, those stupid boys better start acting like she is as amazing as she is, treating her like an equal. They do seem to care, but biker politics and alpha male bullshit- explains it all, right. I like the variation that this author put into the MC and RH genre.
I have really enjoyed other books by this author so I was excited to see what they were going to do with this series. Honestly I had no idea what was going on with the characters and what they were hiding for a lot of the book... and I didn’t even care! It was so well written and the characters are so dynamic and I’m jonesing for the next book.
This was my first book by Adell Ryan and I really enjoyed it!!! I love the MC genre and this was an amazing start to the Hell for Leather series!!! I love the characters and look forward to reading the next book in the series!!! Read and enjoy!!!

A fantastic story that was filled with mystery, drama and memorable scenes. The characters were equally fascinating. I loved the darkness of the story. I loved their interactions - very well crafted to enhance the drama surrounding the characters.

Only took a star because I was anticipating a CRAZY ending and betrayal or something that would have caused the amount of buzz about the cliffhanger but it was just fine. I loved that the chapters alternated between Lace and the guys pov. There are eight guys in the motorcycle club and I was here for it. Honestly, the inclusion of Zane wasn't neccessary. Everyone else has a history with Lace so it was a little weird. Coyote was soooo jeolous all the time. I liked that HFL were vigilanties of a sort and helped people who are abused. Tit for Tat Saloon was an interesting setting. Lace was an interesting character. She is strong but doesn't flaunt her strength. It comes with her compassion and understanding but also her smarts. I liked learning about the rivalry between Rolling Stone mc and HFL. father vs. son. Little things made me smile which could make other readers cringe. I liked that everyone called Baylor, Bay but Lace called him Bae. All of the guys are going through shit and have their own problems and demons but the light comes with Lace. I could see a real connection between them and Lace and I can't wait for the next book.
This is the first installment for Lace. She is a strong, independent woman that has goal for the future. She is living in the present and doing it one day at a time. It’s bike week and her favorite boys are in town.
Leather & Lace is dark and disturbing. It took a bit for me to warm up to Lace but I appreciated a strong woman doing what it takes to survive. The guys are intense and the sex is smoking. A reverse harem this story has Lace interacting with the Hell For Leather Motorcycle Club. This is the first in the series and I really want to see where the author takes Lace and the guys next.
Dark, gritty and unexpected are the words that keep cycling through my mind. This was a well done and so good MC story. I love, love, love all of the points of view because it gave much better insights into all if the characters. If you like MC stories you need to pick this one up!
This is a very strong start to the Hell for Leather MC series. Lace is a relatable, well written character. There are plenty of question with how the story was built. Characters a distinct and intriguing. I am very excited to read the next book.
Such a great start to Lace’s story. The author did a great job developing the characters and their stories. Lots of hot alpha assholes! The story is full of drama and emotion and the author does a great drawing the reader into the emotions of Lace. But be prepared for lots of secrets and questions that won’t be answered yet. This book was a great ride and can’t wait for it to continue!

This is the 1st book in Ryan's Hell for Leather MC series, it is a Motorcycle Club RH romance series. I wanted to read this because I love RH and MC books and well to have the two together in one book was just amazing! On top of being 2 of my favorite genres, the writing and storyline by themselves were absolutely wonderful!! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

I rated this one 3.5 and not 4 stars because I was pretty confused for the first part of the book. I think it was intended to add to the mystery but the type of confused I was only made me feel like the book was missing a couple chapters and not like it was intentionally mysterious.
The story develops a little better as it goes and I'm interested enough to continue with book 2.
This jumped around a lot. I tried to keep up and reread passages, but after awhile I decided it wasn’t my type of writing style. Others may enjoy her style, but I just wasn’t interested.
Lace has been merely getting by for the last six years. She stepped into her mother's role as a stripper at Tit for Tat Saloon when she was legal and her mother started letting her heroin addiction get away from her. She has almost enough money saved up that she can use her car for more than just a place to sleep at night and see the world. If she can just get through one more Bike Week rally she is home free. But as with every rally the Hell for Leather boys are determined to have Lace all to themselves for the entire weekend. She is there to serve them and make them feel at home during the stay. But little do they know that this year things are going to be a little bit different. Lace will no longer just be around to help an initiate find their footing before returning to the arms of their most possessive brother, now she will be H4L property and all brothers are tied to her just as she is tied to them. Lace hopes that once the rally is over and H4L has to return to their home base that she will be able to make her dreams a reality and escape the hell hole she has become so jaded by, but that may not be in the cards for her once things start going wrong.
I know Coty and Lace were supposed to be the main couple with the others kinda just filling their time with Lace but I really, really did not like Coty overall as a character. Don't get me wrong. I love the possessive, alpha male vibes that he was throwing off but it felt more about him seeing her as property that he owned than because he genuinely felt anything for her other than lust. There were rare moments where you wondered if he actually did have deep feelings for her but they never really grew to the point of them being indisputable. There were others in the gang that treated her even better and seemed to truly care about her well-being. Coty wasn't it for me.
I will tell you, I was definitely not cool with the whole vibe between Kio and Jess either. I understand that Lace was kinda okay with the whole thing but it felt a little too close to him cheating with how much he seemed to be infatuated with Jess. Of course, Lace had more than her hands full with the rest of the boys but still... if the whole thing was she was supposed to belong to all them and they to her, a few of them, like Kio kinda toed that line a bit too closely.
The book was a little scattered and there was terminology thrown around that seemed to just be assumed to be understood by the reader. It got so bad that I had to look deeper into the series to try to figure out if it was a spin-off of something else which would explain why it seemed like the reader should know more than I did. It is, indeed, a spin-off so personally I'd recommend reading the first series first otherwise you'll be as lost as I was.
That is not saying the book was bad, it wasn't or I would have stopped reading it. It was decent but it did lose a few points for not making it more easily to pick up without reading the first series.
So… I’m going to tell you right up front that this is not your “normal” Reverse Harem story. It’s dark, gritty, dirty & bloody. I’ll compare the MC to SoA if they were located on the Gulf Coast. It’s got all the things we loved about that show, sexy men, leather cuts, and the outright dangerous moments. But it’s also got Lace, who by any standard is way more potent as a stripper in a seedy joint that I’ve ever seen in a show. Here is where I am going with this review, it’s unlike any RH that I’ve read, the author knows details that make you feel the darkness seeping from the edges of the pages of this story. Lace wants to be free of all that, she absorbs all of it daily and when the club comes to town twice a year it’s even thicker on her soul, only the salty water of the ocean washes it away.
IS this a normal romance that you would pick up and read in an afternoon? Quite possibly if you’re strong enough to move through the dark with Lace. Or you might set it down and pick it up several times as you catch your breath and focus your emotions. There is no way this story is finished, the author has something up her sleeve, and the way she’s left us wanting more… this might just get darker.
CW/TW: Drug usage, Violence, Rough Sexual Situations
This is not your traditional reverse harem or even the traditional MC book, hell, the FMC is also not the traditional h.
The book is good, however, the plot took a while to develop, lots of triggers - dub-con, prostitution, drug use, violence - there are multiple POVs that made my head swim and this is where I had the problem with the book. The multiple POVs I usually enjoy, but in this case, the harem is big and the flow of the developing story wasn't always smooth for me.
Other than that, I relatively enjoyed the book, the story is not sweet, it's dark. The FMC is not an angel to be saved from the MC or anyone for that matter. She is strong and feisty, a bad-ass, and has her own plans, in spite of her feelings for the guys, to save herself.
I'm not sure if I will read book 2, time will tell. That cliffhanger?!
