I was among the persons who have many confusions regarding the giving of zakah. I thought that just giving money to anyone with the intention of helping them would suffice, but I was wrong because according to our Ulama giving zakah have its conditions, otherwise it would be invalid and intention alone is not enough for its acceptance.

I want to learn the rulings and conditions of giving zakah hence I decided to search for the book that could help me with my intention and I stumbled upon this enlightening book. This is a comprehensive and detailed explanation of one of the pillars of Islam. After reading it I learned of the rulings surrounding it, its importance and wisdom behind the commandment that oblige us to give our poor-rate from our savings.

This book provides lots of verses from the Qur’an and authentic hadith narrations that supports the subject. Not only that, the author also expounds further on the verses and the hadiths that were mentioned by providing deeper explanations rendering us with deeper understanding of the subject zakah. It’s both spine-chilling as it gives a dire warning to whoever neglects it and a it gives a comforting feeling because it promises huge rewards and glad tidings to whoever has fulfilled it.

This book is a must to everyone out there who follows the Islamic faith in order to better understand the purpose and wisdom behind giving zakah so we could give it in a proper manner according to how it was instructed in the Islamic texts and also as suggested by our eminent scholars. Bear in mind that ignorance could not be used as reason to justify why we have committed a mistake if the knowledge is presented to us and is available within free reach but we are just too lazy to commit some time into learning it.

Righteousness, zealousness and sincerity would not suffice as justification for our mistake if we have deliberately choose to neglect the call to seek knowledge.
