Phantom Ride - Caz Puscat
After the death of Ellie, and Max losing his arm in a motorcycle accident, of which he has no memory of he fights to come to terms with his grief. Almost two years later, he is found not guilty of causing Ellie’s death. As nightmares and flashbacks haunt Max, he wonders if he's to blame, but not he's prepared for the truth.
Max makes a fresh start two years later with Adrienne, his girlfriend and they buy a cottage. They learn early on that Albert; the previous occupant died in the house an unhappy man. When lights turn on by themselves, and they hear noises, they wonder if he ever left...
This is a fast paced atmospheric thriller, with a few twists thrown in. The story mainly focuses on Max and his girlfriend Adrienne who have just moved into a cottage together. As the previous occupant died in the house, I fully expected the storyline to be about a typical haunted house…. In fact, this is more intriguing than a story about a haunted house.
As it is such a quick book to read, it is well worth giving it a go and I was surprised at how quickly I was hooked!

A brilliant debut novel by Caz Puscat and I look forward to see what else she can write.
