LUCY
This isn't your typical love story.
My life was great, I was happy until I heard something I shouldn't have.
Now I'm running and there's only one man that can save me.
He's also the one man I shouldn't trust.
Will the bounty be too high for him?

CASH
It was meant to be an easy job, Probably the easiest I've ever had.
But something about her threw me.
The Bounty on her head is tempting.
But then again, so is she.
The question is, can I save her?

Warning:
Bounty comes with an extreme Trigger warning. The scenes in this story are graphic and not glossed over, which could be upsetting to some. This story is NOT for everyone. Proceed with caution.

Part 1
It was fast paced, suspenseful, steamy and really dark.
Unfortunately, as much as I tried, it couldn’t hold my interest, so I dnf it @ 85%.

Cash- The best hitman in town with accurate precision that hits the target on point everytime, hes given a job, for him its just like the others and the bounty is worth it or is it...

Lucy is loving her life, her job and her freedom untill she hears something one night that she shouldn't and everything she's ever known turn on its head.

I was pulled in to there lives, living on the edge of my seat throughout, I couldn't look away even when I wanted to.

my heart sat firmly in my mouth and adrenaline running high, it was a nail biting, heartbreaking anger driving rollercoaster ride.

I absolutely loved this story, its not for everyone and does come with a warning

The darkest heart loves the hardest – 5 Stars

How is it that these two authors can give the most reprehensible of occupations to their hero and make their readers full so totally in love with him? Well, through the gift and talent of their writing, Ruby Wolff and KL Humphreys have done exactly that.

Our heroine Lucy, was a strong character that had to absorb the fact that there were sick and depraved men in the world who wield power and money like utensils to do what they like to whoever they like. When she heard and saw something she shouldn’t have, that put her literally into the firing line of Hades and his behind-the-scenes man, Argos. They were cold blooded killers, make no bones about it, but I loved that these two who bickered like brothers, had a moral bottom line. Innocents remained unharmed. The contract on Lucy became an open bounty and Hades went from her hitman to her protector and ultimately her lover, while I just fell in love with the pair of them.

Their love was absolute, and it was then we found out how Hades and Argos came to be on their killing path. There’s always a start, that moment when a cold-blooded vengeful killer is born, and it was Lucy who brought warmth and colour back into his life. As for Hades, the darkest heart loves the hardest, and she fast became his new reason for living and ending what others started in putting the contract on her head.

I was tethered to Bounty, absolutely addicted, and it kept me up way too late. Everything about the plot line in this book was intricate and the layout between the dual POV chapters was brilliant. I’m not sure how these authors worked together, but the dual POV and the changes between them meant that we got slight cross overs from each chapter where a fraction of the same scene was shown to us from Hades POV at the end of his chapter, and from Lucy at the beginning of hers. Simply brilliant.

Yes, it ends on a cliff-hanger, but Captured has been released at the same time, so you can move straight onto book two just as I did. I think it’s important for me to re-iterate the warning regarding subject content. Check the listing on Goodreads. Hades is a hitman who takes out the trash, and the people he is dealing with are the absolute scourge of society, and while I don’t believe their violent crimes are over exaggerated, they most certainly are graphic and an endemic part of the story. Don’t expect a fairy tale romance, because this isn’t it.

For those lovers of dark and violent romantic-suspense, featuring darkest of heroes and the strong woman who will cope with being a part of the life, then this book is for you. 5 Stars 🖤

This is the 1st part of this fascinating duet. Lucy us a schoolteacher who loves her life and the direction it is heading, that is until she hears something, she should not have which has her on the run. Cash is a hitman who is assigned to kill Lucy, but he ends up kidnapping her instead to protect her. These two are total opposite yet perfect together. This is one of those stories which just must be devoured in one sitting. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, as well as dark, intense, heartbreaking, and with twists, which all had me on tenterhooks throughout. I cannot wait to read the 2nd part. Be aware that there may be triggers for some readers due to the content.

Lucy and Cash are not your typical HEA read, this book is dark and wicked. A book that a rollercoaster ride, but not the happy fun one either but the fast, you don't know what's coming and stomach in your throat type of ride! Cash is a hitman and Lucy was the bounty. This is part of a duet and should be read with disclaimers of triggers. That said this is good and keeps you turning the pages waiting for the next thing to happen.

I had only read one novel by Wolff, so I had a feeling I'd enjoy the duet co-authored with Humphrey.

I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in Lucy and Cash's world.

I'm sure Lucy never thought her normal life would turn into what it had!

Cash, thank goodness something about Lucy grabbed you, and instead of the merciless killer, you were the passionate protector!

When I finished Bounty, I couldn't wait to devour Captured!

I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Extreme darkness and not for the faint of heart. Lucy and Cash's story is not your typical romance. There is so much going on during this story you'll want to give it complete and undivided attention. Cash makes a great hero to Lucy but a great anti-hero to us readers. It's usually those who are thought to be dark and evil that love the hardest.

I know there are warnings all over the place about triggers & those warnings are absolutely true so please pay attention. Bounty is Book 1 in the Hitman Duet but what makes this amazing is the fact that this dream team actually published both books together! I dearly wish that more authors would do this because then I wouldn't have days/weeks/months/and even years where I'm dying inside. Anyway, let me get to it. Lucy is a teacher who truly loves the way her life is going until she's in the wrong place at the wrong time so her life definitely takes a dark turn. She now has a price on her head, which is how she comes across Cash, who was there to take care of business but despite his ruthlessness, he ended up wanting to protect her instead. Man, there's so much going on in this intricately woven together story with twists coming in hot action to keep me on the edge of my seat while the f-bombs are dropping because you don't know until you know & impossible to put down (PERIOD). I want to reiterate the triggers but I also have to warn that no one should start this duet before bed because you won't sleep until every last page is devoured! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL WHO ARE BRAVE ENOUGH!

Holy wow

This book was full of intrigue and destruction from the beginning. We have Lucy who is a sweet school teacher living with her mom and stepdad. Stepdad is doing illegal stuff, Lucy hears something she shouldn't and in comes Cash a hired assassin. Cash knows something isn't right with this job, so he's out to protect Lucy. Theirs is not an easy love story, but when Lucy is taken and sold at auction the outcome is devastating. I can't wait for the next book.
