This was probably my favorite of all! When you read a prologue and you feel like you might need a tissue, you know it's gonna get you! Brewer and Natalie grew up together, under the apple tree was their place. Natalie wanted to be a chef, against her fathers wishes, not good enough for him, and he makes her life miserable. Brewers mother was his light, but before she passed away she asked Brewer to protect his brother, he was only 6. And he found out in the worst way what she meant. That time under the apple tree saved them both. When things went bad for Natalie, she ran to Brewer, who she hadn't seen in years, but when she tried to run from him, he handcuffed her to keep her from running. Because she couldn't tell him why she was there. So much sadness and pain ensues, until these two can be together. I loved it!
