This is a wonderful book. The writing has so much life to it, I can't imagine a better story to read aloud to your young ones. I think this is the perfect introduction to the sci-fi genre for young readers. It's exciting, has an interesting cast of characters to follow and you really do learn things along the way. It is the first book in a series that I will definitely be following all the way to the end.
