These are the first books that I've read by Samantha Shannon (but not the last). Well written. Lots and lots of detail about the world of Scion and the voyants. Well developed characters with their own voices (e.g., Maria or Jaxon). Very, very impressed.

Interesting ideas mixed together in terms of world building, but the same old boring young girl savior falls in love with her immortal mentor. boring.

I’ve chosen to share my thoughts in his grouping instead of 3 separate reviews. Samantha Shannon has created a complicated world between clairvoyants or the unnaturals. The first book is an adjustment period to get used to the terminology and characters. The plot is interesting with creative twists that gives the protagonist strength while at the same time her weakness doesn’t make her appear whiney. I like the story and was not surprised to see a company picked it up for film. It would totally work.

Loved this

Very different, sucks you in. Easy to read, but lots of definitions to memorize which make it more complicated. Im utterly devoted to Paige and Warden!
