A simple task of retrieving his brothers betrothed doesn’t go as planned for Wilhelm , he arrives to tragedy and loss and still has to convince Seren that she needs to go with him.

She throws up barriers and conflict .
While he waits for her to calm he sees a beautiful woman in her,one that’s grieving like him.

Can the two overcome their grief and arguments and work together ,can more than friendship be developing?
Especially when she still thinks she has to marry his brother and that Wilhelm is in love with her sister .
It’s a complicated plot this one but worth it .

Excellent new story from Tara , loving this series, so different and enjoyable. It envelopes you in a totally new world and it’s just so enthralling.

Wonderful stuff!

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

The ending for England comes down to the beginning - faith - it will ever be the Daughters' guide.

For all those who enjoy getting their hearts ripped to shreds, à la Crosby, please, join the Daughters of Avalon fan club. Member perks include a complimentary box of tissue (please save the majority of your Kleenex for Fire Song), a grimoire styled journal, 1 tourniquet, a two-year subscription to One Champion Coming Right Up dating website, and finally, one week of online counseling sessions available with each Avalon purchase. Okay, I confess, there is no club for the inevitable emotional fallout (yet).

Let me lob a few truth bombs your way instead. Crosby has created a historical pocket in medieval history where magik curls and flows through nature and those blessed with its knowledge practice its directives. The King's Favorite, The Holly & the Ivy, and A Winter's Rose all have their peaks and valleys, greed, power plays, Monarchial mischief, the cold, despairing rot of dark magic and the loving embrace of dewine magik, Champions and Sisterhood - Fire Song has this as well, but the heart-rending and soul searching in Fire Song reaches new depths. Crosby has a knack for human nature and doesn't mind asking her readers to traverse the occasional bramble-filled, stony path.

I equate Daughters of Avalon to a game of chess. Dark Queen Morwen and her sadistic minions on one side with the sisters and their champions on the other. I never doubted the combined might of the Daughters, but Fire Song has proven Morwen has untouched depths of cruelty not yet exposed. I'm beginning to fear the girls haven't realized just how deadly their next moves need to be. For now, Morwen has successfully been maneuvering the board in her favor - this game just got very, very intense!

*Note - I am desperately trying NOT to write about certain devastating events in Fire Song that begin within the first few pages! I did speak to the author about dialing back the emotional tanking but she only rolled her eyes and told me I don't get the why of it but I would eventually. Harsh! Okay, that didn't happen, but when it played out in my mind... so believable!

Long and Short: Crosby makes Historicals sparkle.

Fire Song
Daughters of Avalon book 4
by Tanya Anne Crosby

WOW! This is amazing, phenomenal, outstanding! I can’t wait for the next instalment. This is Game of Thrones for the mind. England is at stake and the sisters are the ones that hold the key for the country’s salvation. Each sister has a story and a happy ending. This is Seren Pendragon and Wilhelm Fitz Richard’s story. And what a man he is, he can slay dragons for me anytime!
Morwen (the wicked mother) is an evil force to be reckoned with, she’s on a quest to find her daughters but they prove to be out of her reach, for the time being.
While trying to find the sisters Arwen and Seren Wilhelm doesn’t make it on time and Arwen makes the ultimate sacrifice, Seren is devastated but can’t risk being caught by the minions her mother has looking for her. What ensues is one rollercoaster of a journey, a journey fraught with danger, Love and sacrifice, this is one heck of a page turner with plenty of edge of your seat action and romance. I highly recommend this it’s well worth the read!
I recieved a complimentary copy, this is my honest unbiased opinion.

Another great read in the Daughters of Avalon series. Seren and Wilhelm are meant to be together, but there is so much working against them. I did find the romance was overpowered by the very complicated story, but it was still there, and very satisfying in the end.

I got this book in a deal. I have not attempted to read book 1 in this series. However, for Book 3 I feel it cannot be read as a standalone. It can only be read perhaps in sequence. There are so many characters, so much is apparently happening and to someone reading this book, it all seems very incoherent.
I tried reading about 15% of this book. Absolutely could not continue

I really enjoyed the other books in this series with their mystic and fascinating story and this book is no exception. Okay, a couple of pages in, I was devastated, thoroughly and completely, handkerchief-wielding and cry-my-eyes-out devastated, so trust me, this book is not for the faint of heart. Its magik is not about unicorns and rainbows but it is about the fight against the dark and the evil, with Morwen, our heroine's mother being the incarnation of everything evil and cruel. Seren and her sisters are not only fighting for their very lives and their happiness but also for their country and its people while trying to find their own destiny - and maybe even love.

This book is another captivating mix of historical facts and characters spiced with a healthy dose of magik and mysticism. It's a fast-paced, imaginative and intriguing story that slowly unfolds while every sister has her own story, well, almost every sister. This book is the story of Seren Pendragon and Wilhelm Fitz Richard.
Wilhelm was sent by their sister Rosalynde to retrieve Arwen and Seren who were separated from their sisters and are currently waiting on a ship always in fear of being discovered by their mother and her minions. He is supposed to deliver them to Rosalynde who is anxiously waiting for them. When a blow of fate changes the sisters' lives forever, he will have to convince Seren that he is not her enemy but might even become her champion. While Seren and Wilhelm travel towards Warkworth where they are supposed to meet Rosalynde, well, this thing about a champion? It might come true. And even better - those two fall in love. Deeply and irrevocably.
Once again another great book in this series, I am already looking forward to the next and final book!

Seren Pendragon’s mother, the dark Queen Morwen Pendragon, is a witch, her sisters are in peril and she’s betrothed to a man who has already purportedly murdered one king. The Bastard Butcher of Warkworth has had his share of misfortune at the hands of Morwen Pendragon when he lost all of his family except one brother in a fire, all he held dear vanished one night in a wisp of smoke.
He’s sent to fetch his brother’s bride only to arrive and find tragedy has struck, he finds beautiful woman that’s grieving like him. Watching for the Seren’s inner fire be released and what happens when it is! I’m loving this series of the Pendragon daughters as they fight against their wicked evil mother’s plans for each of them. An excellent story about Seren and Wilhelm who have so much working against them, but love conquers all in the end!!! I have voluntarily read and reviews this powerful romance story.

Wonderful addition to this series

I loved Wilhelm in the previous book and was so happy to see that he too had his own loved story. This hero is beautiful and. Great foil to Seren. At first, you think their personalities are opposite but then as you get to know them you realize how they both have very similar good and bad features. On their journey they discover they both have grit and toughness, they both have personalities that are rivers of frustration and pain that run very deep. And they both have such strong honorable characters. I loved this story, and truly love how well the author has researched the era, how everyone lives in their daily lives. They tension is building and I have read all the books of this series in order, so I can not wait for the last book and finale to arrive. Rhiannon and Cael should have a really great story. August 2020 can not get here soon enough.

Wilhelm Fitz Richard has traveled down to Dover to find the woman who is supposed to be betrothed to his brother, the legitimate Lord of Warksworth. As a bastard who lost all the rest of his family in a fire, Wilhelm has nothing except his duty to the one remaining brother. He is a little nervous about meeting any more of the daughters of the witch who has manipulated kings.
Seren Pendragon and her sister are trying to reunite with the rest of their sisters, but there is evil in the air. The trek through England at this very difficult time in history is especially dangerous with the powers that are flying around.
The characters are fabulous and not always what you expect.
A very exciting but at times confusing story. Each sister has her own story but, it is part of a series and will make much more sense when you read the books in order. I can't wait to read the next book.

Seren has always been known as the beautiful Pendragon sister. She has never had the “magik” that her sister have had, but something is changing. Wilhelm known as the Bastard Of Warkworth has been asked by Seren’s sister to find her and bring her to Warkworth. After a tragedy Wilhelm grabs Seren and starts the journey take her to her sister. Wilhelm has lost everything at the hands of Morwen Pendragon Seren’s mother and knows about the magik and has seen terrifying things. Seren is not what Wilhelm expects and finds that she is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside but knows he is beneath her and can never hope she would love him. This is book four of the Daughters of Avalon series. I have read them all and I loved them all. This is such a great series. Seren and Wilhelm’s story did not disappoint, I definitely recommend this book!

3rd in the series. I don't recommend reading this as a stand alone. You'll need the backstory.

So this is Seren's story. She's the middle sister & she's on the run from her evil witch mother. Her youngest sister is also with her.

I liked this story, but I felt the previous 2 books were better. The hero is the dimwit Wilhelm. Somehow TAC makes him into an acceptable hero. He's likable at least.
Seren is a good heroine, but for most of the book her & Wilhelm are traveling North so she can be reunited with her sisters.
The rest of the story is divided between Rhiannon, the other 2 sisters & the evil witch mother.

There's quite a few reveals. A couple of plot twists. The death of a character. I don't want to give too much away.
There's no resolution to the evil witch problem, so on to the next book!

Epic struggle against ultimate evil

This is a story of coming into one’s destiny and growing into one’s abilities. As Seren and Wilhelm flee Morwen toward Warkworth and Seren’s sisters, each is haunted by devastating echoes of flames. Morwen, never still, plots to regain her Grimoire. The depths of evil Morwen shows herself capable of embracing astound me! Tanya Anne Crosby has devised a most horrific character who, it seems, is truly beyond redemption. As events are set for the showdown between the Pendragon sisters and their mother, the final book should prove epic indeed. Be sure to read the first 4 in preparation for that final installment if you enjoy medieval politics, the rich lore of Avalon, and imaginative fantasy, you should enjoy this series.

If I weren’t somewhat familiar with this period in English history, I’d probably have been very confused. The developing relationship between Seren and Wilhelm was very well done, and happened over a reasonable period, but the day-by-day telling took too long. The journey seemed to last forever. Seren’s developing understanding of her powers seemed perpetually obtuse, given her lifelong exposure to magic. The diversions into her mother’s and sisters’ lives may have been necessary, but it got confusing, especially with all those sisters. The book was so long (or seemed like it!), I’m reluctant to read others in the series, despite being intrigued by the characters.

Another amazing addition to this series!

I absolutely love this series by Tanya Anne Crosby and Fire Song was no exception. The build up between Seren and Wilhelm was torturous in a really good way though, and I absolutely loved being able to see what was happening with the other characters in this story as well. This book was full of as much adventure and action as it was romance and it kept me thoroughly enthralled. I love this author and her unique stories and I can't wait to finish this series and read more books from this author as well!

Sublime

Every single non I've read thus far has had me enthralled. Tanya Anne Crosby is one of the most creative writers I've ever had the pleasure to read. I'm always excited to read another book she has created. Filled with both facts and fiction, the artistry is absolute and I hope to someday be capable of following in her footsteps. Start from the beginnings of her works and follow her works and enjoy every character and adventure each book holds!!
Thank you Tanya!!!!

Seren Pendragon is the most beautiful and the least magical of her sisters. But she's in peril so Wilhelm, bastard brother to the hero of the last book, is sent to retrieve her and save her from the schemes of her witch mother. They journey across England to find her sisters, finding romance along the way.
Another good book in a good series, combining history with fantasy in a very satisfactory manner.

Pure magic!

Book 3 was even more difficult to put down than #2 and I suspect#4 sill be even harder. The control of the multiple subplots , the excitement of each and the emotional response from the reader combine for an ability to cast a spell of excitement and anticipation of victory for the sisters. I will start #4 in the morning. Thank you. MS Crosby. I am a 76year old man who appreciates your talent for combing so many aspects of the era I would rate it higher if I could!

Another wonderful story set in the medieval backdrop, this is the story of Seren and Willhelm, can Will banish his fears and save Seren from the fates or will they encompass them in the darkness, can Seren's powers come forth and save them both.

I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion

Another wonderful addition to the series. The situation is dire. King's men and unnatural forces are both looking for Seren. One wants her captured and one wants her dead. Wilhelm and Seren both have confidence issues and feel lesser than they are. The plot twists and turns and keeps you captivated. Both are well drawn and engaging. I can't wait for the final story in this series.

I couldn't read the pages fast enough!

This is the fourth book in the series. All of them kept me from my household chores! There is romance, magic and plenty of suspense! I really felt as if I was there with these characters. It is a rich story of sisters united in family magic and love that they will protect with their lives! I can't wait for the next book!

Enjoyed

The twists and turns are delightful. I am progressing to book 5 and can't wait. Sometimes the time and character shifts take a second to register and wish it was clearer, but I survived. The jump ahead in time for needed evil plans to be made was a surprise, but it made sense as castles and armies take time to build. A wonderful read.

Engaging and magical tale

Fire Song catches hold of you like the blue flamed witch fire that blazes through this engaging story. The sisters of Avalon learn more about their magical powers as they fight their evil mother and her black hearted minions. Shape shifting, witch water, spells and enchantments keep you guessing about what will happen next to the lovers.

A much more descriptive book, overly so in some chapters, however a continuation of the sisters fight against evil. Some surprises along the way kept the story pushing forward.

Tragically Fulfilling

This series started with 5 sisters. It would be interesting to know the process by which the author desides which witch will not last through the book. A very good segment.

Fantasy, legends and myths

Another good story, combing myth, legends and fantasy. A little hard to believe that in the midst of running for their lives in terror, a couple could desire each other so much as to be unaware of danger, but I still enjoyed the story
