A group of teenagers in a small Yorkshire village are rocked by the death of one of their friends on prom night in mysterious circumstances. As a result, they spend their last summer after finishing school coming to terms with what has happened and finding their own ways to move on in the face of their own personal battles. Emma is reeling from the loss of her boyfriend and the knowledge that life as part of the village's 'golden couple' was not quite as rosy as everyone else thought. Lucy is trying to make ends meet while coping with her boyfriend Ryan's frequent moodswings. Josh is struggling with his guilty conscience over the events of prom night. Annabelle has her life all mapped out, but when she comes back to the village where she grew up she realises there may be more to life outside of her parents' expectations. Chris is resentful of rich girl Annabelle coming back to the village and reluctant to admit they might have more in common than he first thought. Jess would love nothing more than to be part of her older brother Chris's tight knit group of friends, but instead finds solace in playing video games and cultivating a new friendship online. In a village so small that everyone knows each other's business, secrets are kept well hidden and the pressure to keep up appearances leads to the line between well-intentioned and malicious lies becoming increasingly blurred...

I saw this book all over ticktok, so I figured I would give it a try.
I completed this book in a few days. It was a slower start but the ending was different then I had originally thought it was going to be.
