Impulsive is book 4 of the Houston Defiance MC series. This series should be read in order, so I highly recommend starting with book one of the series. These stories start where the previous one left off and you'll have a better understanding of the supporting characters and their environment. This story focuses on Neon and Oakley.
Neon's been through a lot in life and he still seems to be on a roller coaster. Right when he thinks his life is balancing out the rug gets pulled out from under him. He is easily manipulated by people he cares about. He has a softer side and he's loyal to a fault. People underestimate him because of his intelligence, judging him as nerdy. But make no mistake, he's just as alpha and menacing as the rest of his brothers if pushed too far.
Oakley is sassy, fearless, brave and stubborn. She's an all around badass and has a fierce protective side for those she cares about. Although she was a little frustrating in this book, her stubbornness could be borderline immature and she threw small tantrums that caused more harm then good. But in the end her strength and loyalty shined through.
Osborn writes out of the norm when it comes to her heroines. They are just as involved in club business as the men and some are even part of their operations, which is something I appreciate in her writing and makes her stories unique. She also writes in a way that we even get to see the progression of the other club members while not taking away the plot from the main couple.
This story was highly unpredictable with added twists you'll never see coming and going in a lot of different directions. Anything can happen at this point and there is no clear path. Everytime an enemy or threat is eliminated they seem to gain a few more. With all the enemies they've gained, it will be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming books.

The fourth book of The Houston Defiance MC Series is my favorite so far, and Neon & Oakley my favorite couple, they have a beautiful story, full of lies and intrigue and the club faces new villains, other that return and a woman in particular who has me fallen in love with her.
Neon is one of my favorite characters since I started this series, he’s an adorable, loving man, who is not afraid to express his feelings, he’s super intelligent and cares about the people that he loves. Neon has always struck me as one of the most level-headed members of the club and I have loved reading him losing a bit his head for Oakley, making mistakes in judgment for Anna and making difficult decisions to be happy.
Oakley is my favorite girl, she’s a total badass, a motorcycle champion, super brave, loving and, like Neon, she’s willing to do anything to maintain her family safe. She has made bad decisions that have led her to go through difficult situations, which led her to accept the help of the Houston Defiance and to be closer to Neon.
Neon & Oakley have an incredible chemistry, from their first meeting it’s evident the attraction between them and the beautiful couple they make, they are adorable and perfect together, unfortunately things are more complicated than they seem, Anna Neon's sister is in charge of putting too many obstacles between them, which makes the romantic plot full of unexpected twists and bad decisions that bring unfortunate consequences for the main characters.
But the most surprising thing in the whole book are the twists and turns of the Houston Defiance plot: the appearance of Connie is one of my favorite surprises, I love her, I think she has a super charismatic personality and I hope he's not a real threat to the guys. Definitely, the best and worst of the twists come from the hand of Anna, it’s surprising what happens with her and the decisions that Zero & Neon make about it, I loved it and I'm dying to know how everything is going to continue.
Impulsive is for me the best book of the series so far, with a wonderful love story, full of unexpected situations that make me need the next book now, also because I want to know what the history between Texas & Finley will be like.

Neon siempre me ha parecido uno de los miembros mas sensatos del club y me ha encantado leerlo perdiendo un poco a cabeza por Oakley, cometiendo errores de juicio por Anna y tomando desiciones difíciles para ser feliz.
Oakley es mi chica favorita, es una total badass, una campeona de las motocicletas, super valiente, amorosa y, al igual que Neon, está dispuesta a hacer cualquier cosa para mantener a su familia a salvo. Ha tomado malas desiciones que la han llevado a pasar por situaciones difíciles, lo que la llevó a aceptar la ayuda del Houston Defiance y a estar más cerca de Neon.
Neon & Oakley tienen una química increíble, desde su primer encuentro es evidente la atracción qué hay entre ellos y la bonita pareja que hacen, son adorables y perfectos juntos, desafortunadamente las cosas son más complicadas de lo que parecen, pues Anna la hermana de Neon se encarga de poner demasiados obstáculos entre ellos, lo cual hace que la trama romántica se llene de giros inesperados y malas desiciones que traen consecuencias desafortunadas para los personajes principales.
Pero lo más sorprendente de todo el libro son los giros que da la trama del Houston Defiance: la aparición de Connie es de mis sorpresas favoritas, ella me encanta, creo que tiene una personalidad súper carismática y espero que no sea una amenaza real para los chicos. “Tech”nically a Winner!!
I never knew techies could be so hot but I guess when it comes to MC’s, whose not?! Neon was the best at his job and he made sure that his brothers were safe in everything they did. They had enemies out there namely the Heathens MC who were beyond evil. Oakley had at one time been with the Heathens and had finally found a way out but that way out may cost her her life as well as those around her. She was an expert when it came to the racing bikes on the circuit and that’s when Neon had met her. When push came to shove it was Neon who stood up to protect Oakley and that’s when things go crazy.
This book was full of many twists and turns, love and loyalty, blackmail and plenty of steam. As I read every book in this series it becomes my new favorite so with that being said I cannot wait to see what comes next for the men and women in the Houston Defiance MC. Every one of them have been 5* reads for me.

Another 5 star read for this series
Neon is the tech guru for the Houston Defiance MC. As the tech man, it’s his job to know everything and to out smart other rivals and to always be aware of what is happening around and outside the club.
Oakley captured Neon's attention from the first moment he layed eyes on her at a drag race, He finds out she has ties to their rival Heathens MC which threw him off guard, but he still wants to help and protect her. Oakley thought hse had her situation under control with the Heathens MC until they show up and prove otherwise.
Neon offers protection for Oakley and her father and some of his MC brothers are not sure this is a good idea in case it causes a war between the two MC's
The chemistry between Neon & Oakley is off the charts. Impulsive is the fourth book in The Houston Defiance series and I defintely recommend you read them all in order.

4.25 stars-- IMPULSIVE is the fourth instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult HOUSTON DEFIANCE MC erotic, MC romance series focusing on the men and women of the Houston Defiance MC. This is motorcycle drag racer Nicolette Oakley, and Houston Defiance IT specialist Asher ‘Neon’ Creed’s story line. IMPULSIVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommended reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as many of the events of IMPULSIVE are as of a direct result of events from previous story lines.

Neon and Oakley ... brilliant & unpredictable
KE Osborn's Houston Defiance MC is only getting better with each new addition. IMPULSIVE is the fourth installment and it has become my favourite. It is grittier, edgier, has numerous twists and turns, and two main characters who are just made for each other. Neon, who I fell for several books earlier, is the club's IT guy, and he falls for Oakley, a top female motorsport champion.
Oakley is in trouble with another MC, however this doesn't stop Neon from offering his help. Neon is such a wonderful character, he may have the brains for all the tech work, but he also has the muscle to deal with the dirty work as well. It is his heart and his caring that is his greatest attribute. I fell for Oakley, she's tough, brave and super sassy, but like Neon, she's super sweet and has a loving heart. Yes, she's made some bad decisions in her life, but with the help of Neon and the club she is able turn her life around.
Oakley and Neon are attracted to one another from the moment they meet, their chemistry is red hot. Together they make the perfect couple. Their pathway is not smooth (when is it ever when KE is writing), as Neon's sister Anna is constantly throwing hurdles at them, trying to keep them separate. This leads to Neon and Zero, the club President, to make some extremely tough decisions regarding Anna. Can Neon and Oakley overcome the evilness of Anna, or will their happiness together be destroyed?
Nothing is ever easy when it comes to being a member of Houston Defiance. KE Osborn ensures that the numerous twists and turns lead to a story that is unpredictable from beginning to end. Her storyline ensures that her readers want to remain and continue reading until the very last word. KE also has that ability to construct her series in such a way that a rolling storyline continues throughout. For this very reason it is always such as privilege to read her books. Now she has me waiting impatiently for the next installment of this amazing series ... Protective.

This is the fourth book in the Houston Defiance MC but I gotta say it now, I truly recommend you read the previous books first before delving into this one. Not only will you get the entire world-building experience, you’ll see the different dynamics and relationships between not only the previous couples but with the brothers of the MC. There’s a ton of history especially between Neon and his President/ childhood best friend Zero and some of the issues that occur in this storyline is connected to their past. You won’t get the intensity and the magnitude of the problems they’ve gone (and still currently going through) just by reading this book alone. But for readers who haven’t read the previous books or not willing to read them first prior to this one, Osborn does do a good job at making sure you’re caught up with everyone’s situations.
I’m an avid MC romance reader and I’ve read heaps of them throughout the years, but I find that unless the Motorcycle Club as a whole is POC, then the majority of these book series’ lacked diversity in characters. I’m excited to see Osborn has incorporated more diverse characters into the Houston Defiance MC by having both her leading characters have mixed heritage.
For a reader who is also a POC (person of colour), I truly gravitate towards any character who may have similarities to my appearance, even the smallest physical trait such as a heroine having dark hair and tanned skin instantly gets my attention, and that’s what Osborn has done when she introduced Oakley into this series. It didn’t hurt that she had a lot of the same interests as me. Oakley is a biker chick who not only has a love of bikes but fast cars too. She’s sassy and stubborn but is also somewhat of guys gal as well.
Neon is the club’s tech whiz. He is brains, brawn and all heart. I’ve loved both Zero and Kevlar (with Wraith a close third) after reading their stories, but the more books I read in this series the more I was interested in reading about Neon because he always seemed like a sweet person with a tortured soul. He goes through a lot in his story constantly being relied on by others, and although his a biker in 1%er motorcycle club, in comparison to his brothers, he oozes gentlemanly vibes (most of the time). Impulsive soothe my craving for him! Neon is exactly how I pictured him to be and I was hooked from start to finish!
Neon and Oakley are likable characters and there’s plenty of swoon-worthy moments between them. But like the previous couples in this series, they go through a rollercoaster of emotions and a handful of roadblocks throughout. I may not have liked their attitudes or agreed with their actions in every situation that they faced but I could sympathize with their reasonings. But also, just like the previous books in this series, you can still count on a great amount of romance (HEA included), a steady storyline, and MC elements!
But please note this story in particular contains sensitive subject matter that may be triggering for some readers such as violence, kidnapping, attempted rape, and mental and psychological disorders. Some scenes are detailed and graphic— please take into consideration before starting this book.
There’s an amazing cast of secondary characters included, albeit most of them are MC brothers but they never fail at providing some lighthearted comic relief when needed.
Since Oakley is a professional racer, I was hoping to see more of what she can do on the track, but I’m glad her talents weren’t completely wasted with Osborn including some entertaining moments here and there. And despite the seriousness of Oakley’s, Neon’s and the club’s current position, the story isn’t overly dark or gritty as other MC romances out there. It still however includes adult themes, so readers 18+ only!
You can’t really have an MC story without having some drama thrown in, and this one was a constant drama-filled story where one thing after another happened. Its storytelling has great pacing and told from first person dual points of view. I loved seeing Neon finally have his story told and for him to land the perfect girl for him. Putting aside the romance, this story opened doors for a few possible plotlines in upcoming books and I’m eager to see where the series is heading in the future.
Was the storyline predictable? Did it have any plot twists? To that I have to say yes and no. Yes, there were some things I had inklings about that did end up occurring… but it also had plot twists mixed in, if you get my drift. Osborn teases you with potentials and when the time’s right, not only does she drop it but she adds another layer that you didn’t see coming on top of it. Just when you think you know which direction it’s headed, something else happens that keeps you on your toes.
Overall, another superb addition to the Houston Defiance MC family! Not only do I recommend this book, I recommend the entire series. Every story and couple is different, dealing with their own issues, but throughout it all the brothers all have each other’s backs. Each one has a swoon-worthy hero, a heroine that catches their attention, and a story that’s dripping with suspense! As an MC romance reader I can tell you now, this feeds one’s craving!

Impulsive was not what I expected at all... it was SO much better! This was a read full ALL the things that I know and love about KE Obsorn's books but it was also full of some serious twists that had me going back and rereading... like did she just do that?! Yup, she did! SO GOOD! Neon and Oakley take us on one heck of an adventure full of family, drama, action, brotherhood & their intense and immediate connection (that real talk will have you swooning at one minute and shouting at your kindle the next). For me The Houston Defiance Series continues to just get better and better and I CANNOT wait for Protective!

Neon is the tech guy for the Houston Defiance MC. Oakley is following in her Dad's footsteps and is a leading drag racer. When they met she sassed Neon and she just captured his attention even though she has ties to a rival MC. His first instinct is to protect her no matter the cost. Can he do that without knowing her more than this or are the sparks that are flying between them fated to stay an unfulfilled history? Can they trust each other and are they prepared for the chaos and danger that is about to descend on them? Particularly when the cause might be nearer to home than they think?
Wow - this was smoking hot mixed with a rollercoaster ride through drama, danger and multiple parties who are new to the game. There were times when I thought I knew where the danger would come from only for it to change and be from someone else. They were definitely made for each other and so it was thrilling to experience a HEA at the end of the story for them although things were set up nicely for the next book in the series which is going to be pretty major based on how this one ended. Well written, easy to read and understand I could definitely feel and empathise with the characters in this book. Contains explicit sexual content.

OMG! This series just keeps getting better and better!
This book was AMAZING! I couldn’t put it down once I started. I was reading till the early hours of the morning. (So buckle up for a long ride guys. Make sure you have drinks and snacks at hand). It was packed with action, suspense, drama and heart stopping moments. These characters don’t catch a break in this story.
I adored Neon and think he’s met his match with Oakley. She’s a little firecracker.
I’m excited to see what’s next in this series.

Impulsive lives up to its name, it is reckless, emotional, spontaneous, wild, daring, and inhibited. I absorbed every minute of it. I am loving The Houston Defiance MC. Each book has such different storylines, but they still are intertwined so well with the ongoing everyday battles the MC face, of fighting to keep the club from being destroyed by outside forces.
Neon was not expecting the club's first outing after putting out another fire to have him meet the beautiful yet sassy drag racer, Oakley, he met her briefly a long time ago and he felt a spark even then. But when it appears that Oakley has got herself into some trouble with another club Neon's protective instincts rise to protect her. Oakley thought she had left the past behind and although she doesn't want to drag the MC into her problems, it looks like big bad biker Neon has other plans, if only her heart didn't beat a little faster when he was around. But Oakley's problem is going to get bigger and put the club back in the limelight once again, with an enemy they never saw coming.
I so hoped we had seen the last of Neon's sister Anne, she, Neon's sister, and the new President, Zero were best friends growing up, and years ago, Zero and Anne were to be married before she shattered his heart. I have mixed feelings about this one. Firstly, it was, as ever, a gripping and interesting read. That's what I've based my star rating on. But I do have a few issues with the couple, Neon and Oakley. It's not that they didn't work, they made a good couple. There was something that happens in this story that bothered me slightly, I don't want to give too much away so it's difficult to go into.
Without saying too much, there's something that Oakley does that upsets Neon. It turns out that it didn't happen quite the way that everyone assumes. That doesn't alter the fact that she did do it. Even so, she is upset with Neon's reaction and in the end, he talks about trying to make it up to her. I just didn't buy that.
I've said before about this series that the characters skirt the line between good and evil. That is the case here. I'm not sure what is going to happen with Neon's sister Anna. She's trouble, but I'm not sure that I'm convinced by what looks like is happening with her.

The crew at Houston Defiance always keep me guessing. From the moment Neon bumped into Oakley, he knew there was something special about her. When he finds out that she is in trouble with a rival club, he doesn’t hesitate and immediately offers to help her. This could either be a brilliant decision or the club’s downfall. Oakley is passionate about drag racing and has done everything to be successful and fulfill the family legacy. When her father needed money to be able to race, she found a solution. But when that solution comes back to haunt her, she’s not sure how she will survive. When Neon offers to help, she finds herself living with the Houston Defiance and realizing that not all MC’s are harsh and hateful. Getting to know Neon as they work to solve her problem leads to a relationship neither expects. Of course, being together is full of hurdles from within the club and outside the club that forces them to face their own fears while learning to trust and believe in the love they’ve found. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Book 4 in the Houston Defiance MC series, Impulsive, is the perfect title, absolutely spot on, enough said about that as I don’t want to give too much away. 😉
Neon, aka Asher, the club’s resident tech guy and Nicolette Oakley, a successful racing champion, hit it off immediately and luckily for her they do seeing as she finds herself in a bit of a bind.
I loved Neon’s reaction to Oakley and how his alpha personality came to the fore immediately. His protective instincts are endearing and show a different side to him... he seems to even surprise himself as well. 😄 Oakley is a likeable character who has stuffed up big time but I like her reasoning and how she owns it too.
There is so much action, drama, suspense and a fabulous dollop of romance that you are literally absorbed by the intensity of the storyline and stay that way until the very end. Be prepared to go on that old emotional roller coaster where you’ll experience every emotion possible. There is a fantastic balance too but let me tell you that when the action heat up, you will find yourself reading as fast as possible to find out what happens.
Another brilliant story by this very talented author.

KE Osborn is one my FAVORITE MC Romance authors! Her books are standalones but it is a lot more fulfilling when you read them all in order because they build on each either. Impulsive is the 4th book in The Houston Defiance MC and just like the previous books it is one WILD rollercoaster! You might THINK that you know what is going to happen, but my goodness it will keep you on the edge of your seat for what is going to happen next.
I absolutely adore Neon and Oakley and their chemistry is off the freaking charts! I definitely liked the story and how everything unfolded and give it 4 outta 5 stars. I cannot wait to see what is coming up because I know it is going to be absolutely crazy!

This one just shows Nerds can be all alpha and still look scary when he is part of an MC Club. Neon and Oakley are awesome in this instalment of the Houston Defiance series. I think this is the first one that I actually teared up a bit reading. Their story is fun to read as they both are independent and would do anything for their family. Only one is not as it seems and the other has been watched over as a promise.
I have enjoyed reading this series and can't wait for more as there are more brothers that we need to hear their stories and also this one left more questions so I hope we don't have to wait very long to hopefully get those answered.

Another interesting read in the Houston Defiance world. I loved how Neon went with his feelings when it came to Nicolette Oakley. He had an instant need to protect her. He was so alpha as well as sweet and hot. The danger surrounded her, and his protectiveness was supported by the MC. I enjoyed all the non-traditional aspects of her upbringing and life as we got to know Nicolette. There was plenty of action to keep me turning pages. I recommend this story.

This is impulsive, explosive, with twists and turns and some amazing chemistry. Neon and Oakley have an instant connection and regardless of the repercussions he wants to protect her. The story is not one-dimensional and I loved that I didn't know what would happen from one page to the next. The chemistry and heat between Oakley and Neon doesn't hurt one bit either.

I LOVED Neon and Oakley's story! I always knew when Neon fell, it would be hard and fast. He fell for her instantly and it took off from there. True to the Defiance series, there is a ton of action, lies and heartbreak before coming full circle.

I absolutely love this series. Would most definitely rate this higher if i could. So good. With every book each one gets better and better. Neon and Oakley are a kick butt couple. Such chemistry. They both have to learn how to trust the other and let go of outside influences to find their hea. There are definitely some OMG moments that you can’t believe happened. So good. I love that no matter what happens that this amazing group of people have each other’s back. I love the entire group of characters. Definitely one tough crew. I absolutely recommend this book and series.

Y'all... I fell for Neon he is adorable. As the tech guru for the club it's his job to to know all and keep track of everything and outsmart everyone outside the club. Oakley has a spark that immediately attracts Neon and the spark Y'all its beyond hot! Neon's sister of course shows up and starts her crap for a while Oakley don't take her crap. In the end im glad with how it ended cause I wasn't sure if I was ready for it lol.

Houston Defiance is a just full of action! Neon is the tech guy for the club and when Oakley comes to them asking for protection against the president of a rival MC club, Neon all but jumps at the opportunity. He’s not sure why but there’s a pull between the two of them that’s undeniable. But there’s hidden evil that has its claws deep in getting rid of the HDMC and is using someone close to get what they need. There’s no coming back from this betrayal and Neon will need to find a way to make peace with what needs to be done.

Excellent extension of this series. Loved all the action, suspense and of course the racing, love drag racing. Neon and Shiver are a good match and compliment each other.
