Fake dating your best friend is never a good idea, especially if you're in love with them.

Brianna Marie Smith has been best friends with Carson Jerome Adams for twenty years, but she's been in love with him for twice as long. She made the mistake of agreeing to pretend to date him to save face in front of his matchmaking mother, every year, at their annual Christmas Eve party.

This year, however, proves to be harder than ever before. What happens when the proximity forces Carson and Brianna to confront very real-feelings underneath the mistletoe?

Brianna x Carson

This was adorbs. It was highly repetitive but cute. I loved Carson and Bri's friendship. The transition to lovers wasn't as smooth as I would've preferred but it worked for them.

This was a really cute holiday romance. We got best friends who have been pretending to be dating for the past three years so his mom won't play matchmaker! Which is certainly a twist on the fake dating, friends to lovers trope.

And oooh the chemistry between these two are so good. This is a short story but I think it shows us the character's personalities well and there's some sexy times literally under the Christmas tree. ;)

A quick, fun, and steamy fake-dating + friends-to-lovers romance. The author's writing is so engaging and fun and I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

Good Read

This novella was a quick and fun read. This is my first read, but this author. The we're friends, who faked dating, then became lovers. All along the attraction and love was there. I'd definitely like more of this story. Good job J. Greene.

Love, love, love.

Carson and Brianna are swoon-worthy. How J. Greene managed to turn Bri's mortifying moment into something so dang hot is beyond me but a testament to her dope pen game. Looking forward to many more books!!

Underneath the Mistletoe

This story has given a whole new meaning to the title. I love the chemistry between the characters and the fact that they are best friends. Brianna definitely needed a little more time than Carson to come to the realization of them being a couple.

For three years, best friends Brianna and Carson have pretended to be in a relationship every Christmas in order to get his matchmaking mama off his back. Only problem? Briana actually has feelings for him. When he walks in on her trying to - ahem - relieve those feelings, well, maybe this Christmas is finally the time to shake things - and the Christmas tree - up.

This is a quick and steamy short story posted on Wattpad. For such a short story (under 10k), I felt like I got a really good feel for the characters and their relationship. Plus! There’s sex under a Christmas tree (including getting tinsel in the face mid-doing-the-deed, which had me howling).

I loved this and desperately want more - there’s apparently a New Year’s Eve story coming out on the 29th.

Full disclosure: I follow the author on twitter.

Can I just say this is the type of book I can read every day. Friends to lovers is hands down my FAVORITE trope. And Bri and Carson served it up so sweetly. A three year fake dating ploy to get Carson's mom's off his back about settling down. Bri plays the part and does it so well she starts to see her bestie in a new light. Girl, he may or may not have walked in on her taking the edge off and the rest of the story goes from there.

I want more of their story ;)

I follow Jazmen on Twitter and really love that she took this leap of faith and I hope to read more from her.
