At eighteen Cathie longs for more than life as a settler in the Australian bush. She accepts her uncle's offer to send her to England and runs away from her family, not realising he is using her to get revenge on his sister Liza. Attacked at the docks in Liverpool, Cathie takes refuge with the man who saved her, a man who has his own troubles. But as she slowly regains her memory and meets her Lancashire relatives, she must confront the legacy of her mother's past. And even in 1876, the same wealthy families who forced her mother to leave Lancashire are still powerful enough to threaten Cathie's happiness and safety, as well as that of anyone close to her.

Loved this second book in the series. This one was all over the country and it was great to read how they went from one country to another and the adventures. I love Anna jacobs books.
Wow what a fab story Liza travelling to England to find her lost children and the heartache and cruelty that was suffered by them a story that tugs at the heart. 5 STARS for a lovely read from Anna.

Another great story from Anna Jacobs, it's the sequel to Lancashire Lass which was the first book I read by this author. The sequel has the main character Liza heading back to Lancashire from Australia 15 years after she had been forced leave her baby boy behind.
Again I struggled to put the book down, I love the series and the links to the last book. Well done Anna Jacobs. Love all your books I’ve read and look forward to more stories
After finishing the first one in this series Lancashire Lass, I could not wait to start Lancashire Legacy following the characters of Liza, Ben and their family. This book I could not put down and recommend it. Anna Jacobs cannot fail to disappoint.
This is the sequel to Lacashire lass. At first, as I hadn't read the first volume, it was a little difficult for me to find my way around the multitude of characters and their turbulent pasts. However, the essentials for getting to grips with the story are detailed as the adventures of the heroine and her family unfold, and I was quickly swept along. The personalities of the protagonists make them endearing, even if they are not on the side of the good guys at first. Living conditions in the Australian outback and in industrial England are well described, giving us an insight into the period (1876). What's more, the landscapes of Australia are dreamlike. Anna Jacobs has already written several sagas on the same theme. Her writing is fluid and, although there are no surprises, the suspense is skilfully maintained and makes you want to read the 500 pages without stopping.
