Cuts and Bruises is an emotional journey through the eyes of a young lover who has been freshly wounded. Readers witness as the hopeless romantic undergoes a whirlwind of troubled sentiments from exchanges of passionate longing and fabricated recovery to reluctant acceptance. Through the perspective of a self-proclaimed “wise” adolescent, the audience is pulled into a captivating struggle of finding solace and true healing after being cut. Onlookers behold just how ugly things can get when bruises begin to construct themselves.
The author has a way of providing imagery to moments. Ways of thinking of moments and using words to describe them that really pack a punch, and make you feel exactly what she’s describing. I bought this poetry book on recommendation from a friend and recommend it to anyone.
