It’s a common story. I’m sure you can guess how it goes.

Girl winds up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
She witnesses four gods of beauty and brutality murder some poor sap, and she’s stupid enough to get caught.

Come on. You know what happens next.

You know they tracked her… me… down.
I don’t need to tell you that they claimed me. Ripped me from my safe, perfect world and bound me in chains to their throne.
All of that is obvious.

It’s the part where they corrupted me, dragged me into their world of death and destruction, made me theirs in every way I didn’t know was possible, and I became a soldier in a war that will bring all of Cinco City to its knees…

…that’s when it gets interesting.

Saint is a dark contemporary why choose romance. This is book one in the series and features language, dark themes, and sexual scenes. If you're cool with that, dive in!

HOLY FREAKIN’ MOLY MOTHER CHUCKER!!!!

Another FAVOURITE BOOK read of 2021!

I will admit when I first started reading the story, I was a little lost and confused. Mainly because of how the story changed between chapters 1 and 2, so I ended up going back and re-reading it to finally understand.
I did get a little lost again in the story a few more chapters in, which had me unsure if I would enjoy the rest of Saint. But BOY OH BOY was I wrong as HELL because this book was just WOAH!

I honestly cannot get over the fact of how F****** INCREDIBLY FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC, MIND-BLOWINGLY AMAZING it truly was!
It needs to be said Saint is not only MY FAVOURITE BOOK of Ruby Vincent, safe to say it’s also THE BEST BOOK she has ever written to date!
This book had it, plus a whole load more on top of that! I kid you not! When you read this book your mind will be blown just like mine was!

This RH (Reverse Harem) book was an ACTION PACKED, MYSTERY THRILLER with The Merchants, four HOT, SEXY, STUBBORN and sometimes DOUCHEBAG guys, known as St. ‘Saint’ John ‘Sinjin’ Bellisario, Killian ‘Cash’ Hunt, Baris ‘Brutal’ Alexander and Mercer Santos. Plus the obviously SMART ASS, equally STUBBORN, SASSY, HEADSTRONG and FIERCE at times female character known as Adeline ‘Addy’ Redgrave aka Bunny!

I ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN LOVED and ADORED Sinjin aka Saint, he is unlike any character I have come across ever.
Yes he is HOT and SEXY as HELL, but he was also UNIQUE, QUIRKY and HILARIOUS, especially with his crazy psycho ideas.

The banter between Saint and his Bunny definitely reeled me in. I loved reading every single last minute of it. The things he did to her and managed to get her to do of her own free will had me laughing a lot. Like that chocolate scene, DAMN I did not see that coming at all. It was HILARIOUSLY HOT and kinda KINKY! I had to give it to him, though crazy, he was definitely smart when it came to creating types of situations to make sure he got what he wanted out of it at all times.

The twists and turns in this story had me thrown all over the place with my many emotions and feelings, never always knowing what is going to happen or to expect next! I was holding tight, white knuckles on this rollercoaster of a story! Not wanting to let go EVER and making me fall deeper down the hole that is Saint. Trying to seek answers to questions and get a deeper knowledge inside to not only the story, but the answers behind each of the characters into how their mind works and what to expect when it comes to their plans and actions.
As this was Saint and Adeline’s story, since it was told from their POVs, we get glimpses here and there into them, their stories past and present.
However with Cash, Brutal and Mercer, we are only given small peeks here and there. And that definitely had me going crazy wanting to know more, even if it meant falling down the rabbit hole because this book definitely made it worth it!

This book had me gripping on WHOLEHEARTEDLY until the very end where my mind just EXPLODED!
HOLY HELL! MOTHER F****** CHUCKER!!!
Honestly RUBY VINCENT you ABSOLUTELY and COMPLETELY DESTROYED MY MIND with that 360° of an ENDING/CLIFFHANGER!
I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book, not only because of that cliffhanger, but also the fact that I still have a whole load of unanswered questions that I NEED the answers for!
Seriously, I can’t wait to see how the Saint and Sinners series will play out in book 2 Cash!

What is the truth and what is the lie??
Adekine is found by 4 men who are out for vengeance or justice. No one knows.

Spoiler:

She takes care of her father who in a retirement type home.
Adeline is a chef. She lives in an apartment with some crappy girls. She is broke.
The men find her and keep her. They move in with them in exchange she has to cook and clean for them

They also involve her in their “justice.”
I am not sure what to think about the ending.
I think this the first time a twist has turned me off from a story, but knowing me I will read book 2. I am a bit intrigued.
It was interesting, but not sure how you recover from it.
The thing is that I want to know who everyone really is.

I am assuming there will be 4 books in this series. There seems to be a long break between books. I may forget the plot.
Book 2 comes out March 18, 2021.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Mind Blown! 🤯 What the hell was that??
It is not very often that I am taken completely by surprise! Damn!

As good as this book was, I was ready to give this a 4 star rating. It's really good but, kinda typical if you read a lot of this trope, which I do. So yeah, 4 stars. Then, BAM! That freaking ending! What! That changed everything. 5 stars all the way! It made me rethink everything I just read, it literally transforms this whole story.

We start off with a wrong place, wrong time situation that leads to kidnapping the FMC. This lands her directly in the middle of a gang war. She keeps doing the unexpected which just intrigues the leader more and more... que the the badass FMC. The other guys are much harder to crack. We are given very little info about them, which keeps us intrigued now and wanting more. I'm done, I can't go on, or I'll give it all away.

I 100% wholly recommend this story if you like RH, gang/mafia, and a badass FMC.

*** Trigger Warnings- backstory of rape/abuse eluded to, attempted rape, violence and torture.***

The first half was above 4 stars for me...loved the banter between Saint and Adeline and the unhinged villainy...but the second half was a descent into what I absolutely detest in mafia books: Cheesy BDSM basement sex and horny, overwrought torture scenes and a character’s descent into villainy being framed as self-actualization. It felt campy and cheap and didn’t fit at all with the first act of the book.

Add in a plot twist at the end that makes 90% of the book the musings of an unreliable narrator—seriously, what the hell was true and what was a lie?— and I’m just pissed I got my hopes up this book would be good.

Audio: 4-5 stars for Addison Barnes, she didn’t both POVs for the male and female characters which made it confusing at times…

Book: 4-4.5 stars

That ending what the fuck? Haha

Immediately diving in to book 2!

OH SHIT!!! 🤯I was going to give this book 3 stars because of the over-used story about "bad guys kidnapping girl after she's a witness to their killing and she later falls for them and also suspends her earlier belief system for them".

I mean don't get me started on weak heroines..but the heroine here has never been weak.. in fact, although she showed an *Oh crap..please let me go and I won't tell anyone anything* attitude..she later kept throwing demands like as if the guys haven't kept her locked in their house as their personal maid and cook! But later you see her trying to understand the guys..see what they stand for and even helps them during their missions, as long as it serves a greater purpose.

But that ending literally crashed everything into dust! I mean.. honestly, I was pretty bored reading this book. It was okay..maybe good..but there wasn't a lot that kept me on the edge of my seat. But somehow Ruby Vincent managed to create one of the biggest twists I've ever read! I mean I had no idea that something like this would/ could happen! I expected a typical *girl gets caught by bad guys and bad shit would happen but her guys would reach in time to save her and themselves* scenario but damnnnnnn. So yes, that happened, but something else happened and I'm over here pretending like *I know a secret that's pretty cool* that I want to keep dangling in everyone's faces.

I'm sorry if that made no sense. Read this book if only for that ending! Ugh! And to think I was not going to continue with this series after book 1. Why does this always happen to me??! When I'm ready to say quits to a series, an epic cliffy comes out of nowhere and I'm forced to continue!! 😭

What the what?!?

OK. I did not see that end coming. AT ALL. 👀🤯

I really enjoyed this book. I looooove anti-heroes. They're like my weakness. I loved having the Dual-POV between Adeline and Saint. I love the slow build of the relationships. Saint is my kind of lovable psycho H - he had me panting 🔥🖤🔥. Adeline is fierce and fiery and surprised me. A LOT. 👀

“There are worse men in this world than me, Bunny. That’s why men like me exist.”

This is dark contemporary RH, slow build, medium burn. The dark is mostly violence and murder, but there is past abuse of main characters and encountering a sex trafficking ring (not explicitly detailed on page). No bullying by the Hs, though there is kidnapping. Not really enemies-to-lovers, but certainly not quick to trust or love. All have secrets, even the seemingly average Adeline.

So I’ve read worse, but for me, this book was not great.

Saint is the first book in the Saint and Sinners series that is now complete. It follows Adeline, a young chef who, when working at a party, witnesses the gang murder of a local celebrity. It’s dual-pov, and why choose romance with four love interests - Sinjin, Cash, Brutal and Mercer.

Honestly, I found the basic format of this book so confusing for a few reasons that I’ll now list below :)

1. THE OPENING CHAPTER: The first chapter doesn’t make any sense until later in the book, but even then, it doesn’t click in a fun and exciting way. It just seems like an odd choice, and I felt on the back foot going into the story.

2. THE CHAPTERS: The chapter lengths were noticeably inconsistent. You had a few that were less than 20 pages, most were almost 30 pages (way too long) and the penultimate that was over 50 pages - I saw it, thought nahhh and skipped it.

3. DUAL-POV: Saint had two POVs, mostly Adeline with some Sinjin. Again, this seems like an odd choice for a why choose romance where there are four love interests. I get that they’re all going to have their own books, but this was reading more like MF with a random group activity.

Formatting aside, I didn’t love Adeline. Her character felt very inconsistent. She made decisions and said things that made no sense. At one point, Adeline remarks that she couldn’t sleep because she was so worried about the kidnapped children. In reality, she’d been up all night getting DP’d.

There’s a plot twist right at the end, which I think is rushed, considering all the filler I endured through the middle of this book. If it had been done better, it could have had me wanting to pick up book two, but I didn’t enjoy the characters enough.

You’re a queen, Adeline Redgrave, and you’ve finally met your king.

Wait what the hell did i just read?!!

Ruby Vincent has completely outdone herself with Saint, book 1 of the Saint and Sinners series. This is totally unlike any of her other books I read and I FREAKING LOVED IT. I’m actually blown away by how amazing of a job she did with this.

Addy, AKA Bunny, witnesses something she shouldn’t have. Now, the Merchants, an up and coming gang in Cinco City, have taken her to live with them. This story focuses on the relationship progression between Bunny and Saint, AKA Sinjin, AKA the leader of the Merchants, AKA crazy psycho who I love. This is a RH series, but each book will focus on one of the men in the Harem (Saint, Cash, Mercer, and Brutal). I’m sure I’ll love all of them as much as Saint, but he’s definitely mine.

This series is so complex and interesting. And I DID NOT see the end coming, holy shit. I don’t even know what’s going to happen in this series or with these characters. It’s gonna be a fun, crazy, nail biting, wild ride though!

This book has some heavy topics, such as rape, sex trafficking, child sex trafficking, prostitution, murder, torture.

I seriously can’t wait for Cash (obv Cash’s story) and i’m so happy as of now it’s a scheduled to come out next month!

They have issues, secrets, and everything blew in my face towards the end. Wasn't expecting it to go this way and now I'm utterly confused. I have lots of questions and need the answers. Demanding really and I'm just going to shut up and jump into the sequel now.

I am really struggling with how to rate this book.

That ending completely put me off. It made absolutely no sense for that twist to occur. After I grasped what was happening, I sat there and did a quick overview in my head of the whole book, and nothing up to that point fit in or led to that kind of ending. I mean yea, you want a "twist" to sneak up on you, but the story leading up to said twist has to fit into it. This did not.

I'm so frustrated with myself for feeling this way, because I was thoroughly sucked up in the story up until that point.

There were also quite a few times when the writing was all over the place. I had to read a couple pages more than once because I'd find myself at the end of a paragraph thinking "Wait...how did we get here?! What happened?!" But I did my best to push that annoyance aside because the story was seriously good. It really is, which is why I gave it 3 stars.

I had every intention of reading book 2, but now I'm not so sure. I read the prologue and a bit of the first chapter, but the main character is coming off like a completely different person now (not in the best way either) and it's becoming clear that the story from here on out might not be for me.

Ok, so I loved this book. Definitely a dark romance. Love the reverse harem theme we have started here. Characters are fun and each of the boys is very different in their own ways. I love Brutal. Gotta love the whole quiet dark and mysterious, bad-boy type.

There is a lot in here with child trafficking. It can definitely be triggering. It was a bit for me. There is a scene that just had me in tears for these children. And knowing that there are things like that out there makes me cry more. Just writing this review has me tearing up. There is just not enough punishment in the world for people who hurt children.

That was a surprising twist at the end there. I don't know if having this new information is going to make me like the series more or less now though. Guess I'll just have to carry one and find out.

The book needs a lot of editing, the ending looked like it had been written in a rush. I don’t know about the whole series but the first part is hardly a reverse harem, it revolves around Saint for the most part. I really liked his character but his relationship with Adeline became boring in the second half of the book.
The twist at the end was pulled out of nowhere. The book is written in the first pov, so there should have been some hints for Adeline’s plotting. Otherwise, it looks unnatural.
Two stars for Saint, but that’s it. I don’t think I’m patient enough to continue this series.

Wait for it!

This magnificent tale is a little slow to start but keep with it, because it picks up fast and when it does, it’s a heck of a ride! Addy, Saint, Brutal, Cash, Mercer - I fell in love with these characters and the gritty world they inhabit so hard. And then the twist came and I just sat there staring at the page. Wow. I won’t say any more because you have to experience this book without knowing what’s coming to really enjoy it.
Highly recommended and I’m on to the next book in the series!

I really wanted to like this series more. It had an interesting premise and a fun twist at the end of book 1, but it just really read super slow and got progressively more stale. I found it hard to care about their mission or the deceitfulness surrounding their relationship. I also can always enjoy a good cat/mouse story where they don’t fully trust each other, but I feel like once a breakthrough or “profession of love” happens, we all need to get on the same team, and this book didn’t do that and I don’t like it.

This book was one crazy rollercoaster ride with one hell of an ending. The end took me completely by surprise and was explosive with bombs dropping in a way I’m finding is typical for this author. I’m not at all complaining either lol. The book tells the story of Adeline, a chef in training who just so happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Caught while trying to help a girl at a party Adeline sees something she shouldn’t and from that night forward her life will no longer be her own. Gangs control the streets and Adeline unfortunately winds up in the middle of an up and coming war, this time catching the eye of the Merchants. The book starts with drama that never lets up.
I really loved the heroine Adeline's character. I found her to be a pretty awesome heroine, brave despite her circumstances and can hold her own in both verbal and physical fights. She works her butt off to learn under the wing of a master chef all while living in squalor and taking care of her father in assisted living. Even in the face of unusual circumstances and a bit of captivity she finds her way though. With four broody and dangerous men to ‘service’ she’s one busy girl and I don’t actually mean that as it sounds (yet) lol. While a romance brews between Saint (the leader) and Adeline, aside from a few stolen kisses and a romp here and there the other 3 men remain somewhat of a mystery. And boy does Adeline make it her mission to unravel them all. The group agree to her position as live in cook/maid with a few of her own stipulations thrown in. I doubt they even realize right away the power she has over them all. 😈 I can’t wait to see how the romance progresses with all the men.
Much of the story outside of the RH relationship focuses on the brewing war between the local gangs, particularly the King's and the up and coming Merchants led by Saint. Causing trouble is easy for Adeline and her men particularly when they land on the leader of the Kings radar after run by his underling. Add in the fact that the Merchants gang was recently framed in interfering in the Kings business and well, the leader is none too happy with them and out for blood. Of course Saint goes with the flow in his efforts of taking over, claiming the territory and making a name for his gang. The Kings have been around awhile and their reach is vast so the fight won’t be easy and it certainly won’t happen overnight. I actually really enjoyed the fact that the Merchants weren’t all powerful and were still working their way up the ladder. It was a nice change from most novels where the MC/s are already in charge and at the top of their game. Them interfering though creates more than one enemy and I think given how things coalesced in the end, we’ve yet to even see who the true villains are in the series.
Anogher thing that draws me to Adeline has to be the dark side she tries so hard to hide. She’s more made for this world of blood and power than anyone in the city could possibly expect so if you like your heroine a little twisted Adeline may be your girl lol. While the men remain a mystery it’s beyond clear there’s more to Adeline than even readers know and for the first book of the series I’m already hooked and want more. Do note though that this book deals with some sensitive topics and there is copious amounts of violence and a whole lot of dirty filthy sex so if that’s your thing, carry on 🤓.

LORD HAVE MERCY, THAT TWIST

-RH
-dual POV
-cliffhanger, read in order
-gang violence
-triggers present (SA, kidnapping, rape)
-steamy

HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP!!! All hail the queen of twists I NEVER SAW COMING! I need the next book like right now!! I’m not joking, there was never any indication throughout the book as to what was coming, and it made a lot of the main characters actions make complete sense throughout the book. I have to say this was an excellent start to this series, and the author wasn’t lying about this being your regular old “wrong place, wrong time, girl gets taken” kind of story, BUT WITH A TWIST.

While this series is an RH, each book is in Adelines and just one of the guys POV. This nook was obviously Saints, and we get to see their relationship build. You will see her start the foundation with the other guys, but this one really gives us the background of Saint “Sinjin”. Why do the psychos who laugh during violent encounters always do it for me? When I first found this series and looked up reviews, I was worried that it would feel like favoritism by not getting all of the guys POVs I’m each book, but so far that’s not an issue. Her relationship is definitely more progressed with Saint, but the other guys are still there and we definitely see that they will progress in the next books. I am a little sad to think I won’t get anymore POVs from Saint (if the reviews I read were correct) so we will see how I feel after the next book.

This books gets 5 stars for the plot and characters alone, but I will say that the writing was kind of strange in places. It almost felt…. Disconnect? in some places, like maybe there were some words missing or the author used the wrong word so the flow of some of the sentences kind of made me fumble while reading some. Or maybe it was the sentences weren’t completely thought out, like the scene wasn’t completely clear because some details that get us from point A to point B weren’t there. This wasn’t the entire book of course, and it didn’t ruin the book for me, which is why I’m not deducting stars for it.

Overall, and excellent start to this series!!

Update 4/12/21:

Okay, I tried this one out again, and I'm happy I did. Things read a bit easier the second time around, but I still stand by my earlier assessment that it just has a weird flow.

This is one of those books that will kind of have your mind engaged throughout while you try and figure out who everyone is and what the ultimate endgame is. About halfway through, I was like, "Okay...I think I know who K**** is, and I think I know where the j****** is. Yeah...I'm pretty sure I know." Then by the end of the book, I was like "Okay....I have no clue what is going on, I have no idea what is happening or who anyone is."

This is a contemporary RH told through multi POVs. There is steam in this book and I consider it more of a medium burn. Thus far there has been m/f and m/f/m--I don't know if Vincent is planning on adding any elements of M/M, but right now it does not have any and does not read as though its leading there. Additionally, as far as trigger warnings may go, this book has on page violence, death, and some torture kink. While off page, the topic of child abuse (physical, mental, and sexual) are highly alluded to and a main topic throughout the book.

Overall, it's a good book with fun characters and an intriguing plot. It has some laugh out loud moments and some wtheactualf moments.

-------

This moved at a really weird pace for me and so many scenes felt disjointed. I would be reading along and then all of a sudden, I was like...wait...what's going on?? What just happened?

I'm a fan of this author, and I did like this book, but something about it just seemed a little off.

Oh guy’s this book was AMAZING!! I loved it so much and I didn’t want it to end!! I honestly cannot wait for the rest of the series! I want to learn more about all the characters, there’s still so much I don’t know and questions still left unanswered.

I’m not going to lie the first chapter threw me off and for the whole book I kept wondering who they were! As the book went on I began to learn more but I was still hanging on the edge of my seat wondering how it all ties together. And then more things occur and I’m honestly devouring each sentence of this book needing to know what happens next!

I loved Addy, I resonated a lot with her! I loved her strength but also her vulnerable side. But there is definitely more than meets the eye with Addy, especially at the end....

I am obsessed with the guys, Sinjin, Cash, Brutal and Mercer! We learnt a lot about Sinjin in this book, we don’t know everything about him but we do get to hear part of his story! And I am so surprised by Sinjin I love his psycho wild side but the other side of Sinjin that not everyone see’s is amazing and it honestly made me fall deeper in love with him. The other guys are still a bit of a mystery at the moment but I’m so interested in them all and their stories and I honestly can’t wait for the rest of the series to learn more about them!

Bring on the next book because I cannot wait for the next ride these characters are going to take us on!

I can't even begin to express how much of a disappointment this book was. It truly wasn't terrible, but I had such high expectations after reading such wonderful reviews. It was well written, I'll give it that much, and it was interesting enough that I was able to finish the book. BUT the plot was too immature for my liking.

So she sees something she shouldn´t have, then she is kidnapped by them. Then, less than a week later she is already, and I quote "Saint's" and he is already hers. And after, she realizes she is falling in love with the rest of them at once.
Honestly, I can´t even explain what feels so wrong about this book.

Ok, so the plot twist, I didn't see it coming, but not because it was spectacularly added, but because nothing in the story hinted at it.

And yes, I know what you're all going to say.
"But that's what makes it so good!"
No.
NO!
What makes a plot twist, a great plot twist? Not just something that has no logic as to why it was added?
.
Hints.
.
Beautiful, slightest hints. Those which you read and comprehend but don't truly understand once the bomb has dropped.
And you pay no mind to them until you need to.

I felt like she had the idea of that twist once she was on the last 5 pages of the book and just added it.

So, sorry lovelies, but this book didn't do it for me.,

”That’s why I’m the boss, Bunny. My crown isn’t heavy. I fucking love the way it fits.”

I’ll start by saying this was a very fast paced engaging dark story, with a plot that has many dimensions and is being developed well. Chapter 1 which kind of felt like a Prologue(?) was confusing. Still by the end of this book I have no idea whose POV it was or how it plays into this story, other than it introduces us to “Kieran”

I am really digging all of these guys, especially Saint. He’s your typical Alpha leader with a heavy dose of psycho😈

Plan A was out. Plan B was in. I preferred plan B anyway. There was a lot more blood.

The banter and sexual chemistry with Adeline is off the charts feral. He’s should have killed her but something drew him to her instead. Will it be his downfall?

”Am I your weakness?”
“I can’t go more than an hour without dousing up on that pussy, so the evidence is sound.”

Gotta say yes the surprise twist in the cliffhanger is quite something but I don’t know if I buy it…and I sure don’t know if I like it. 🤔 However nothing’s gonna stop me from jumping to see what happens next!

Note: I listened to this and while there are dual POV it was not dual narrated. So it was a little confusing to hear a female reading Saint’s passages. Once I got used into it, I was ok, but just be aware 🤷🏻‍♀️
