They felt like short stories. I'd like to see what Mr. Ames might do with a full length novel with these characters. And I have high future hopes for the dog.
If you are a Jack Reacher fan, and I assume most people reading this would be, then I think you will enjoy these stories. None of them is particularly long or deep in plot, which is why I only gave this three stars. However, the set focuses in particular on Neagley who is certainly an interesting character and also brings in some of the other special investigators. Reacher does not appear but you still get a taste of him because of various references to how he ran the team and his philosophy.
It was entertaining. Nanobots, Superhumans, and handheld Directed explosive devices all lose to the ex-MPs. Three stories with not much plot and little character development. All three stories end quickly. There are about 10 pages of ads between stories. I gave it a 3.
The author allows each special investigator their own character and personality. They all fit into the scope of the original Jack Reacher group. The storytelling makes you hope that eventually all will get together again and save a worthy individual or group.
I read the three (short) books back to back to back and almost didn’t go past the 1st one. There was no depth added to any of the special investigators and the stories were too vague. The endings wrapped up with people just dead with no details and the SI’s feeling like just bystanders until the 3rd book. Definitely not the same quality as Jack Reacher books in my opinion.

I enjoyed the books even though they didn't follow the TV version. Deep characters and good story lines. Hard to keep all of the players straight sometimes. It was a good read. Plenty of action and guessing who the suspects were. If you enjoy intrigue and gun play. This is your book.
This is nothing more than inferior fan fiction. I finished the first one, a novella at best. It had neither an interesting nor credible plot, and the writing wasn't up to professional standards. It claims to be officially approved, presumably by Lee Child, but if so it's hard to believe he read any of it. I won't be reading the other "books" and can't recommend it.
I really enjoyed these 3books Lee could have written them the style was so similar. My only criticism is that they were not very long.Yes well worth a read.
