A Christmas Puppy To Cherish (Inspirational)
You don’t need ears to hear God’s plan. All you need is an open heart…
Music of both birds and harmonicas fills Max’s life, but it’s the near-silent forest guide he meets in Cherish, SC, who captures his attention. Small and slim, pretty Sarah’s smiles and graceful hands speak louder than her voice. In fact, she’s so quiet, he's not sure he’s made much of an impression. But with her, he can imagine making this temporary stopover into something permanent.
Sarah has found a comfortable niche in Cherish, working miracles with plants, arranging flowers for church, and taking in stray animals. In fact, her house is so full, she’s not sure she can say yes to the Sheriff’s plea to take in one more puppy for Christmas.
Max has definitely captured her interest, and he shares her love of nature. But maybe she should take in that puppy after all, because a ball of fur that needs her will fill the empty space in her heart when Max's research sends him off looking for bluer skies.
A Chocolate-Box Christmas Wish
He’s been all over the world. She’s a home-town girl. Can a holiday wish bridge the gap?
In Cora Carpenter’s small California hometown, Christmas is tailor-made for couples.
Unfortunately, Cora is a party of one, thanks to a con man who stole her heart, then bilked her out of thousands of dollars.
What’s on her Christmas wish list this year? Nothing whimsical. She’ll take a new vacuum cleaner, thanks—and no dating for the foreseeable future. But when she meets a stranger with a broken-down car, his warm smile and perilously blue eyes almost make her want to tweak that list. If only she could get over the pain and humiliation of her past.
A double whammy of betrayal and a broken heart sent anchorman Patrick Gervez thousands of miles west looking for a fresh start. But the pretty child care provider’s unforgettable amber eyes and deft hand with a set of jumper cables does funny things to his heart—and makes him wonder if she’s a forgotten dream come true.
Except she’s as skittish as a piece of tinsel in a windstorm. And the only way to help her forget her heartbreak, is to convince her to forgive. Especially herself.
A Chocolate-Box Irish Wedding
A woman who wanted more. A man who wanted her. Can they rediscover their love in the seaside town where it all began?
Colum O’ Brien, a professional ballet dancer, is still hurt from a break-up four decades earlier. All this time, his heart has gravitated toward the woman who left him behind.
Sure, he’s moved on with his life, but he’s never forgotten his childhood sweetheart, Keira Murphy.
That is, until he meets her again. Because his father is marrying her mother.
Keira was a famous runway model who moved away from her seaside Irish town with dreams of becoming a superstar. She left everything behind, including Colum.
With her skills as a seamstress, she’s now determined to return and open her own shop. Only she never expected to see Colum again—or to be instantly connected to him, just like when they were next-door neighbors and childhood sweethearts.

I own and have read each of these books when as they were published. These Christian inspirational romances are filled with amazing characters. These stories are about a partially deaf heroine (A Christmas Puppy to Cherish),an opposites attract romance between a scam victim and a broadcaster (A Chocolate-Box Christmas Wish) and a second chance romance for an older couple (A Chocolate-Box Irish Wedding). I love them all!
Josie Riviera has put three of her beautiful heart-warming romances into this boxed set. I read each story as it was released and loved every one of them.
My individual 5-star reviews are below.
A Christmas Puppy to Cherish
Welcome to Cherish, South Carolina! Here we meet Maxwell Archer, an ornithologist who plans to spend the month of December in town working on his research before heading further south to a new job in Jacksonville, Florida. Max discovers that his harmonica was lost in the move, so he goes to a music store to buy a replacement. He chats with the shop owner and tells her about his work and birds. She asks if he would consider taking in an abandoned puppy that the sheriff is trying to place, but he declines. While talking to her, he asks if she knows of anyone who would be able to accompany him on a birding expedition. Sarah Hartman is suggested as she loves hiking.
Sarah and Max are attracted to each other from the start. However, as the relationship develops Sarah realizes that she must break it off because she knows that he will soon be leaving. When she is approached to take in the puppy who must find a home or end up in a no-kill animal shelter, she agrees to give the dog a home in hopes that he will be able to distract her from the pain of letting Max go.
I love the people of Cherish. The author focuses on the story of Max and Sarah, but we meet other residents as well. The Christmas music references make me smile especially when Sarah mentions hearing The Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing “Adeste Fideles” in Latin on the radio. I learned the first verse in Latin as a teen and to this day have a hard time singing it in English!
Is it possible for Max and Sarah to find love when they least expect it? Is it worth the risk for the lovely Sarah to lose her heart to a man who will soon be leaving? Should she instead concentrate on her work with a local florist and her beloved pets? Max is uncomfortable because she is a Christian and he is not. Is there any chance that he might change his relationship with God?
This is a well-written Christian Christmas romance. It is a novella, so can easily be read in a short time. I recommend this book, especially if you are looking for a good holiday story.
A Chocolate-Box Christmas Wish
It is Christmastime in Evanville, California and daycare owner Cora Carpenter is preparing to spend the holiday alone. Her brother, Jack, is planning to leave town and invites her to join him, but Cora has decided to remain at home. However, she still needs to tell Jack what she wants for Christmas.
After being scammed by a con man she met online, Cora has chosen to back away from the dating scene. However, her resolve to keep her single status secure is shaken when Patrick Gervez, who is about to start work as an anchorman in a nearby town, shows up at Olive’s diner asking where he can get help for his broken-down car. The local garage is closed for the day, but Cora keeps jumper cables in her car and offers to assist him.
Can Cora and Patrick ignore their attraction to each other? Is Patrick too worldly for small town Cora? Her heart melts when he singles her out in an on-air Christmas greeting, but you will have to read the book to find out if a handsome anchorman is what Cora wants for Christmas.
Author Josie Riviera has once again delivered a well-written sweet inspirational romance. Remember that this is a novella, so things move along faster than you expect in a full-length story. Also, readers who are bothered by religious content need to note that there are Christian references.
A Chocolate-Box Irish Wedding
This beautifully written romance whisks the reader off to the Irish town of Wexford. High school sweethearts who had gone off to pursue their individual dreams after graduation are there to attend the wedding of her mother to his father. She is divorced and he has never married.
Is there any chance that the old spark between them can be rekindled or will the physical distance between them keep them apart despite their obvious attraction to each other? While Kiera has returned to live in Wexford, Colum teaches dance in another city.
I loved learning about some of the Irish traditions which Josie Riviera intricately weaves into this story.
This novella can easily be read in one sitting, but once again the author has found a way to make the major characters come alive within the limited number of pages.
Remember to check out the included recipe for Irish Soda Bread.
Holiday Hearts: A Sweet and Wholesome Romance Bundle: Volume 4 by Josie Riviera Three holiday stories by the author.. ... A Christmas Puppy to Cherish by Josie Riviera Story starts out with Max and he's returned after 30 years to stay in Cherish for a month til his job starts after the holidays. He has a lot of past to deal with having grown up in foster homes, some good but most bad ones. He heads to music store and is able to buy a replacement harmonica and after speaking to the shop owner he is looking for a guide hiking to show him the sights. She knows Sarah will be the perfect one as she also loves to hike and be outside-he runs the flower shop there. They get along just fine, having so many of the same things in common. Love the bear and how she wards off an attack while they are hiking. Love hearing about all the animals, birds, dogs, etc throughout the book as well as proverbs quoted and scriptures. Sarah is holding a medical secret to herself and I love the Christmas gift she gives herself and others in turn. Lack of communication will not allow them to stay together.... Amazing what one puppy can do. Love hiking ornament, so precious! I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion. ... A Chocolate-Box Christmas Wish A Chocolate-Box Christmas Wish: (Chocolate-Box Series Book 5) by Josie Riviera Book starts out with praise and reviews from others, introduction and newsletter information. Story starts out with Cora who runs her own daycare for the local children and she's talking to her brother Jack. He's on the plan to lose weight for a good cause this winter and money raised going to charity. Love the ideas she has for the children around the holiday. She recalls the fight she had with her father and hopes to make amends. Many other characters in town from other works by the author are mentioned in this book and the story line is easy to follow. Love catching up with others I've read about. While getting a drink she overhears one with car problems and she pipes up that she can help them. Patrick, he's the new reporter at the station in town and she wants nothing to do with him, dating specifically. Things said are misconstrued and they end up growing further apart from one another. He has a habit of mentioning her on the news that others also see and alert her that she must watch the TV. Like the tech parts about jumping a car, it's a guy thing but author makes it perfect for this female that grew up with understanding things from her father. Love how it all comes together at the end. Recipe listed at the end of the book. A note from the author, listing of works by the author, and about the author are included at the end. Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion. ... A Chocolate-Box Irish Wedding by Josie Riviera Book starts out with praise and reviews. Info about author's newsletter. Story starts out with Colum O'Brien and he's on his way to his father's wedding. He will be in the wedding party and he wonders if the girl next door will be there also. The story also follows Keira (kiki) and she's her mothers choice at the wedding. They are able to reminisce about the days they were dating one another, getting to really know one another. Love hearing of her sewing abilities and how they each followed their dreams-he to be on stage in plays, her on the runway and even a designer. Like hearing what they do now 30 years later and how things were left when they fell apart. You wonder if they will get back together. Like Irish theme in this one and have heard the Irish blessing many times. So touching. Love that this book is about 50er's characters. Recipes included at the end. Note from the author is included. Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion
Savor the magic of this special season all year round. These stories are filled with delightful characters and celebrate the joy, blessings, and true meaning of Christmas.

I have watched the behavior in my ex-daughter in law the last ten years. Josie Riviera imparts wisdom about Christmas, life and marriage in this inspiring novella.
