For ages, their prison, the mighty palisades have now become a key to their survival. Weary eyes atop the walls remain trained for hints of the darkness that receded to the west. Hidden in both plain sight and in the shadows, forces work to sabotage their modest measure of peace. Do they have more to fear from outside, or within?
The Erlyn calls. The tributes grow stronger by the day. Their return to Vim is nearly at hand.
As forces contend for the rule of the kingdom, powers vie for control over Ryl. Salvation, it seems, will not come without a fight.

Now on to the Bio:
CJ Aaron is a Fantasy Author who relocated from the four seasons of the Northeast to the nearly perpetual sauna of the third coast.
Holding a Communications degree from Susquehanna University, when he isn't writing fantasy, you can find him working on the road in an outside sales position. At home he shares his time with his wife, two children, dog, cats and an ever changing menagerie of rescue animals.
Raised on a steady diet of fantasy and science fiction, he is still an avid reader, lover of video games, movies and pretending to be a musician.
I have now read the five books that are available in the series. I like the story and the creativity that is gone into the series. The problem I found with all of the books is that the author belabors the tragic life of the main character and all of his indecision and all of the reasons why he's undecided throughout the series. It goes on and on and gets in the way of the action so I have to skim over page after page after page and it gets tiresome.
Read a!l the books in the series and enjoyed this one. Although a bit long winded in places. Also felt the ending could have been a bit more dramatic! Hope there is going to be another one in the seriies,as I have a feeling the story is not quite over yet. Look forward to reading it.
The saga continues in book five of Ryl and his companions . Thoroughly enjoyable read as the story continues . Hopefully the saga will not go on and on as I personally think this can devalue a good read .
Yet again another great book with the plots being well-written and throughout. Five stars yet again. Well done. Thank you for another enjoyable reading experience.
