Dear Reader, do me a favor. Can you picture a kangaroo suddenly start “punching” in your mind? Give it a second. Ok, keep that picture in mind as I give my review of Knight by KD Robichaux. This is the fourth book for Brian and Clarice. (Rendezvous, Karma's Pawn & Until We Meet Again) Here you have this scorching hot couple. Brian is, by Clarice’s own admittance, a gentle giant. Clarice is a hotshot photographer who has no problem holding her own. Ok, so you’ve read the first two books. Gotten a handle on these characters. Had some laughs. Read through some amazing sex. You’re in the book groove….. WHAM! *grab the right side of your face* You’ve just taken a mean right hook by your friendly neighborhood Kangaroo! Just when you think you know what’s happening, the storyline completely blindsides you.

Amazon should send you protective padding with ever purchase of a KD book. (or they could just send one of the KD models, that would work, too) I’ve learned how to catch up on sleep after reading one of KD’s books because I know although the book has touched my heart forever; I will need chocolate and tequila to recover.

I really don’t understand how K.D. continues to have so many ideas for these amazing books. My husband said he doesn’t need to understand, he’s just happy she continues to write, so I get in the mood.

Don’t hesitate to buy this book.

I want to begin saying that even though Corbin and Vi's story seemed very interesting and something worth reading, I am glad that I didn't read their book. It has a few tropes that I detest and I am happy I skipped it.

Before this book was released, the author had published a few novellas featuring Clarice and Brian, so you might be familiar with them. If you haven't read these novella's there is no problem because the book can be read as stand alone. That's the way I read it. It didn't change a thing since most of the book is about the therapy sessions they have to go through before Clarice can join the club. We see how their relationship developed over time and mostly what their lives were like during the war. These two people have been in love with each other for a long time and in this book, they have the chance to be together and admit their feelings for each other. Clarice had a reason for choosing to not commit to Brian and we find it early enough. Some people might find it silly, but I didn't have a problem with it since fear is irrational. I loved the ways they decided to break the rules without breaking the rules and giving Clarice a chance to be with the man she loves.

I think that 4 stars is a good and fair rating for the book. It was good and I was able to read it easily which is always a plus. I would recommend it and if the author plans to write another book in the series, I will probably read it.

Clearly, I need to do more research when requesting ARC’s, because had I realize the “club” in the blurb was a BDSM club and not an MC, which I thought, I honestly would not have requested the book. BDSM aside, I finished this book because I really liked both main characters.

Brian Glover is a former soldier who now works for a group of mercenaries, and also owns a BDSM club with his friends. While he was in Afghanistan, he met Clarice, a photographer who was working a story about soldiers. Brian is injured while saving Clarice, and she becomes his nurse, and decides that from then on, Brian will be her best friend.

Thus begins their friendship. A LOT of this book is both Brian and Clarice being in “therapy” to be able to attend the sex club. I didn’t understand that part of the book at all. I don’t generally read BDSM books, and I don’t know or understand the lifestyle. So that part of the story kind of turned me off.

The part of the story with Brian and Clarice falling in love over the course of 11 years, I liked. I LOVED Brian. He’s a giant at 6 foot 8 (a number we hear OFTEN), but man is he a gentle giant. He was so sweet and loving to Clarice.

Clarice is a really cool chick, but has a secret as to why she can’t admit to Brian that she’s madly in love with him – and man was that reason LAME! I was expecting something completely different.

I enjoyed reading their backstory, about how they met and fell in love. Overall, the book was way too long and detail heavy – that took away from the story for me.

But if you are into BDSM, this is the book for you.

I have to admit this is my first KD Robichaux book so that also means my first Club Alias Novel also. So I can honestly say that you can read this book as a standalone. Although I will say I don't like to do that, so I will go back and read the other books, just because I am weird that way.

This story is an emotional rollercoaster between two people that have been friends forever. Neither are strangers to each other inside the bedroom but are on the outside. Clarice and Brian need to find out if they can make real-life work as much as they make life in the bedroom work.

I really enjoyed this book.

another great read!

Another great read. I love the friendship between Brian and Clarice so much, it’s makes their relationship that much more deep and meaningful as you get to hear their story from both views and from the beginning till now. I wasn’t sure how it was going to end, and I was a little worried, but I was so happy it ended how it did, Opposite Day and all.

In Short
- Clarice and Brian are just perfect together.
- Brian is a gentle giant who has such a soft spot for Clarice.
-Perfect story, perfect characters and perfect ending.

In Long
This was my first book in this series so I felt like I maybe didn't know the characters as well as other people who have. However this can definitely be read as a stand alone because you really get to know their story.

Knight was a little different from previous books I have read and I really liked that. Clarice and Brian have a really unique relationship which was really interesting to read.

Clarice comes across as a total hard ass but is actually a very sensitive soul who thinks of everyone else around her but herself. I felt like I got to know her with how it went back and forth in time and enjoyed seeing how they met as well as their relationship developed. It's such a sweet story.

Brian is such a gentle giant, just like Clarice says. Any girl would be lucky to have him in her life and his totally swoon worthy and shows a little alpha in all the right places.

Perfect story, perfect characters and perfect ending.

Final Thoughts
Knight is a quick read and I felt like in places things could have been expanded on to allow the reader more connection with the characters, especially Clarice who I felt had so much to her but just didn't get as much insight as I would have liked.

Quotes
'I hear the shutter go off a few times as I try my best to look like a badass while eating mac and cheese.'

'He's my person, my conscience, everything that is good and right in my world. '

'I want you more than my next breath, sweet Clarice,' he murmurs into my neck, making me swoon.'

In this book, we have our Knight - Brian who was an Army Soldier once in his life. He is larger than life at 6'8" tall. He maybe tall and all muscles but he is a teddy bear once you get to know him. Brian works as a for hire mercenary with some of his friends that he owns part of the BDSM club - Club Alias.

Clarice, is a photographer. She first met Brian 11 yrs ago when she was on assignment for the war. After Clarice witnessed Brian saving half of his unit she quickly adopted him as her BFF. She stuck to him like glue while he was injured in the hospital and she took care of him. Clarice is 5 yrs older than Brian, but, neither care about the age difference.

When Brian goes on missions for his team in the US he will always call Clarice to come and meet up while he is on a mission. Clarice his Brian's calm spot, when she is around he sleeps better. When he is around she sleeps better, they are both each other's center. Brian is indeed a gentle giant when it comes to Clarice.

Clarice doesn't want to admit that Brian means more to her. She doesn't want to open that flood gate of emotions. She worried that if she does she'll wind up hurt again. She doesn't know how to tell Brian that.

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving a review.

I have to say after reading the Mission: Accomplished novellas, I have anxiously been awaiting Brian & Clarice's story. They are a couple that intrigued me in the novellas and now-- they get a full length book. I just loved Brian and Clarice and wanted to hear more about their story(how they met, etc, etc) and why their relationship was the way it was.
These are two people that really want to be together but just keep hesitating on proceeding to the next step, and we finally learn the reason why. I don't want to give any spoilers away but just know that Ms. Robichaux does not disappoint. This was such an emotionally beautiful read and if your looking for a book that has the BDSM kink, dont look any further for the steam and heat is definitely in this book.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

This was yet another great love story from KD Robichaux.
Brian/Knight has secrets and he's very good at keeping them. One if his secrets is Clarice. But don't worry she has her own secrets that Knight has to work around.

Yaassss girl! You absolutely killed it! Brian and Clarice’s story was everything I needed! After reading all their novellas and getting little teases of them, I couldn’t wait for their book and to finally see how their story ends. It was amazing! They are so sweet and loving with each other but so hot and kinky too! It’s a perfect mixture of two kind, beautiful souls who are best friends and lovers that you know will be a forever couple. The emotions that you feel while reading this are all over the place. I laughed, I teared up, I swooned, I felt fear, saddness, angst, happiness and boy did I blush! LOL It was simply a phenomenal story!

After reading all of the Brian and Clarice novellas, this book was perfection in bringing their full story. And I will say that this book can be read as a standalone but why not read the other stories. These are two people that want to be together but keep hesitating on the next step, and we learn why in this book. I don't want to give anything away but just know that KD Robichaux does not disappoint with Brian and Clarice's much anticipated story.

I was very excited to get my hands on this book.   I adore Brian and Clarice and wanted to hear more about their story and exactly why their relationship was the way it was.  I enjoyed the journey from beginning to end! The way KDs words pull you in make you feel like you're in the middle of the action, both good and bad.   It was so hard to put down!

I have read all the novellas with Clarice and Brian. I have been waiting for this book for what seems like an eternity. Their love story has been budding since book one but they weren't ready to confess their true feelings. In this book we see their relationship progress and learn just why Clarice can't confess to loving someone. Loved this book beginning to end.

I am so glad that Brian finally got his book and we got his whole story instead of little tidbits. It is a great book as always, with heat and passion. I love the way Robichaux writes these Club Alias books and how it allows you to get into the characters and love each one of them. You also get a sneak peek at some of the other Club Alias men and their women in this book as well. Well written and a great read.

Brian is used to keeping secrets and one of his is Clarice. When he invites her to his home and his club he is super excited that she's going to see all of him. Not just the parts she gets to see when they meet up for their rendezvous when he's on assignments.

One of the things that Clarice has to do though before going to the club is to see Doc, the club psychiatrist. What's going to happen when Clarice opens up more than she ever has before? When she reveals her secrets and can't get over on how they make her feel? Is Brian going to be able to keep her centered and believe in what they have or is going to be too much?

I absolutely love these two! I was so excited to see that they were going to get their own book and I was not disappointed at all. It just made me fall more in love with Brian and Clarice.

KNight by KD Robichaux is a Club Alias Novel, but can easily be read as standalone.
Knight is Brian and Clarice's story.
Brian is ex-military, now mercenary and into BDSM. He's in love with his best friend since forever.
CXlarice is a freelance photographer and after years of meeting Brian in hotels she's ready to meet his everyday life, means his home, his friends, his club and his lifestyle.

Knight is a captivating, fast paced read set in the world of BDSM with just the right amount of drama, danger and feelings. I liked the story, the writing and the characters and give 4 stars.

Knight was a little off for me. Maybe it was due to the character set up of the significant other or just his personality itself but it wasn't one that kept me on my toes. It is an easy read and a good little breather in the series but I feel like there wasn't as much to his story as the others. It is still well written, just as the others in the series, but I didn't really have the excitement throughout as I did the others. <3 BougieBookie

This book was predictable, and cheesy. The sex scenes left a lot to be desired. Almost like the author would touch on the subject then get embarrassed and conclude the scene. The characters had potential, and it started off okay... I was disappointed and rushed through the last couple chapters. Disappointing read.

I swear the more I read the club Alias Series I love it even more.

Brian definitely gave me gentle giant/but badass vibes at the same time. I could feel the emotions during the therapy sessions with doc, going back to his time in the Army.

My heart broke for Clarices fears. And I was so happy when they got their HEA.

But This book just makes me want to read Doc even more.

Headljne: Huge disappoinment! If you are expecting Alias club scenes, you'll be disappointed, too. Read on KU.

This author has been rec'd to me as erotica.  If this is what they consider erotica then I have some books for them that will be eye opening.  I have read another book by her outside this series and I really enjoyed it.  I didn't even enjoy this one much as a romance.  I think the best you could call it is average.  The high ratings baffle me.

There was almost no romance this to this story.  He doesn't take her out on dates. No flowers. No dancing. He says things that are romantic, perhaps, but there are no actions that show romance.

There were very few steamy scenes. The only BDSM aspects are D & S power exchanges and he spanks her with a belt. I skipped book 1 because I didn't think I would like it but between this book & Seth's, I suspect this author knows little about BDSM. There are no descriptions of the club except that there are private rooms with curtains. They don't use any furniture there other than a table and that's not in an interesting way.

I really don't like the process they have for joining Club Alias. While I can see that some incidents might be prevented  by having people psychologically analyzed before joining the club, I think it is overkill and makes the books less sexy.  It's the same as writers skipping the part where women run to pee after sex. There are just things writers leave out because they kill the flow or the mood of the book.  Even if this is something BDSM clubs actually do, I think it could have been left out of this series. I also find it almost creepy the way the 3 partners have to share their deepest demons with their 4th partner.  There are just things your biz partners don't need to know.  I understand it fits in with how they find their targets.  But I have a problem with that, too.  Their motto is a life for a life, so they don't kill unless the abuser kills. So, how many of his patients in this small town would really be killed by their abusers? So, they could really leave that out and just be mercenaries others hire, which is what we see most in the books.  Going back to having to have 4 hours of therapy sessions to join the club, how many rich people paying 5 figures are going to be patient enough to wait that long to join?  And as for the partners, it almost seems like being called to the principal's office when they go.  Gives me the heebie jeebies.

I'm not a big fan of flashbacks and this book has a lot of them.  I had much rather have had a time jump in the story than for their back story to come out in therapy sessions with Doc.  Clarice's secret isn't that shattering. In fact, it is rather stupid compared to what causes most people to avoid relationships. I absolutely do not mean to discount her feelings. Feelings aren't wrong. They're primal. And what might scare one person is OK with others. However, it is kind of boring for that to be her big secret BUT I did like how he addressed her secret in the epilogue.

One thing I really hated about this book is it seemed as if they were standing still the whole time. There's a brief bit of action that desperately needed to be fleshed out. Between the BDSM and the action scenes when they actually go to work, I really don't think this author researches much or none at all. There's never details to either.

Inconsistencies. In his therapy sessions with Doc, Brian says some highly contradictory things. He says before they opened the club, he had only had 2 relationships and both of those were vanilla. He says he was interested in opening the club when Seth suggested it because Clarice had gotten him into the scene.  It is mentioned he didn't have to go through his personal life with Doc because as Doc stated "you never partake in any of the club activities." It is mentioned that in order to be head doms, Doc had to be sure nothing from their pasts would cause problems.  OK. So, he either had kinky times with Clarice before they opened it or he didn't.  Can't be both ways. He's a "head dominant" but never partakes AND has never had anything but vanilla sex? He either didn't discuss personal things with Doc or he did in order to be a head dom. I have honestly have never read such a mess of directly contradicting statements. I can't believe no one else has commented on this, either!

So, his partners didn't know about Clarice? How did Seth never see her on video when he was watching Brian? Brian states Doc is the smartest person he knows but Seth is an MIT grad that graduated in his teens and is referred to by others outside their group at being the best at what he does. There is just so much of this type stuff.  It truly took away a lot from the story.

I hated the name of Clarice. Yes, they ref the movie. But she was cold in the movie and you don't want a cold character in a rom. It drove me up the wall that people call him "Bri." Brian flows off the tongue pretty quickly. Stupid to abbreviate it.

DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT EROTICA or a good story.
