The First book of a larger universe.

This is the story of a character in an ongoing tale posted to Reddit. How his encounters with Humanity helped him reshape the destiny of his people and their place in the universe.

The First Contact series on Reddit has been ongoing for a while now and I look forward to more official releases like this from the series. Several great characters with humble origins await the world.

I read the entire serial as it was posted on Reddit, bought all the books. Looking forward to the 12 year long Netflix/Amazon/Apple series when they pick it up.

The greatest sci-fi series of the 21st Century so far.

I almost feel you need to say the Christmas Special's title correctly to understand why people love P'Thok. The synopsis lists it as "How P'thok saved Christmas" the title is "How P'thok totally on purpose and not at all accidentally saved Christmas."

I am a huge fan of the author's work. I first read these as he wrote them on the HFY subReddit, and am delighted he has them out in this collection. These gentle, humorous stories are the thin edge of the wedge into a wild expansive universe, filled with a sweeping story of humanity in an often malicious universe, where Terran Descent Humanity discovers their greatest gift: turning enemies into staunch friends and allies.
