This is a great book on getting started with game development. It does a good job of helping the reader eliminate excuses on getting started, providing the reader with knowledge on the process of making games, and explaining the meta parts of game development such as communication, advertising, etc. My only complaint is that there is too much information that is not relevant to the mission of the book, which is to help the reader make video games. I would have preferred if the Q&A with a random high school student had been an extra chapter at the end instead of being put alongside the chapters that give practical advice on game development. Overall this is a great read, and DeLeon's story of making 100+ games in 20 years is inspirational.
