Getting Through Grief: Eight Biblical Gifts for Living with Loss

Rate this book
Grief is an emotion that can make you feel as if there is no way out. But before you give in, know that that is not true. Your loss and pain do not have the last word.

Jesus does.

In Getting Through Eight Biblical Gifts for Living with Loss, author Michael Newman tells us to look to the Word to wrestle and watch as God's promise to make all things new and His promise of life transform hope. While heartbreak will always be a part of our lives, God pursues, draws near, and gives us gifts - in particular, these eight gifts - to get through it.

Born out of decades of pastoral shepherding and personal loss, Michael Newman assembles a stunning mosaic of God's relentless grace amidst suffering. In Getting Through Grief, Michael invites us to see beyond our open wounds to the Healer who restores us. Biblical wisdom and practical steps show how anyone experiencing hurt can cry out for God's compassion instead of suffering in silence. Each chapter offers an opportunity for conversation through prayer that impacted me profoundly. Every page points us to Jesus who did the heavy lifting at Calvary to heal us. This book is a beautiful gift to all who long to look up from the pit to God's faithful redemption!
