I'd rate this "Meh"
I vacillated between 2 and 3 stars.
I mean, I didn't go into this expecting greatness.

But it's short, and there were enough typos that it actually bothered me. And generally, they don't.

There wasn't enough relationship building for me to even remotely be able to justify the "insta-love". I mean, here's a throuple that somehow had one night together.... and decided that it's love. and then they have another - I hesitate to call it a "night" - together, and they somehow know it's love?

Ok. I get it's a short book. I feel the author was trying to tackle too many things, too many stories, and emotions and backstories and everything...

If it's supposed to be about the sex, make it about the sex. If it's supposed to be about the story, give the story its due.

The thing is... I've read shorts that have story and backstory and relationship building and steam and didn't leave me feeling quite so Meh about any of it.

So... meh.
Even the football content felt wrong and understated.

Wow. While this had a good premise, it seems to be a first draft? There are multiple continuity issues, lots of unanswered questions, and way too many "WTF?" moments.

Van Cole brings something a little different to this threesome romance in The Rivalry and it is really good. There is of course what Cole does well: sex. (laugh) We have Jett and Gabriel’s awkward yet cute courtship. There is also the drama of Jett’s injury and the status of his arm, his future, and how Gabriel fits into all of it.

Then Cole throws in some secrets and they are some doozies. I read a lot of books and I am trying to remember if I read about these guys in a previous book, because Cole writes the story as if we already know about their first hookup and how Sully and Jett are together. I have to be honest, I do not remember so I kind of felt like I was behind the eight ball at the beginning of the story. I looked back to the beginning of the book to see if I was supposed to have read something before this one and it did not say.

I liked the whole story, especially the surprises that Cole threw in. My only “complaint” if one can call it that is if I was supposed to read Jett and Sully’s story first I would have so I would have felt more connected to the character of Sully.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

🔥❤ I took a punt at grabbing this book as I've read this author's stories before. The book starts of great with Jett concerned about his arm. Hiding secret, wrong assumptions leads a sad part of the story that had me feeling for the character concerned. The book progresses into a beautiful book with fantastic ending which I loved. The main character is Jett's POV with others in biolog. Hot sexy scenes included.

Jett loved football since a child he was QB and had his friend Sully, the teams trainer had gotten closer. Jett and Sully had a brief threesome with Gabriel, but now Gabriel where in there world again.

A nicely written story

While not exactly what I would call a classic love story this is a happy story about anticipated pain becoming happy reality.
The characters are a little basic and could do with some more fleshing out. But the premise of the storyline makes up for it.

Sweet story

A weekend fling that turns into forever. Even with all the problems they have, they’re still drawn to one another and then fight together to save Eva. This is a sweet story with some steamy scenes for sure.

Brilliant

I really loved this book just wished it was longer as I thought it finished quite abruptly. Love how the three of them connected and fell in love with each other
