Paranormal lawyer is such a fun idea, especially if you're scraping the bottom of the barrel in other vampire books. This lawyer however is also a corrupt cop somehow? If you think proving someone guilty beyond a reasonable doubt is just a formality and calling hits on people who didn't get the sentencing they deserved is good ADA behavior then this is the book for you! If you read paranormal fiction for nuanced takes on the nature of evil or even just giving vamps the benefit of the doubt dont read this. Its an all bloodsucking are scum sort of read and while the creep vamp we are going after in court deserves it, the protag has a hatred of the entire species and is never contradicted by the narrative or other characters. Stear clear of this one if you don't want to be reminded of the corruption in the criminal justice system

Fleshed out characters, an intriguing world building, good storytelling.

Exciting New Perspective

I’m a huge fan both of true-crime and paranormal thrillers. In this story I get to see elements of those genres come together, as a paranormal thriller is told through the eyes of a real lawyer. I love every moment of theorizing and the payoff if I guess a twist right. I think the idea of a paranormal law system is delightful and I can’t wait to read the next installment!
