I'd never had a one-night stand before and all I wanted to do was celebrate snagging my Interview at my anticipated new job, but he was cute on steroids. And then he went and smiled, and oh my, how much his parents must have spent on his teeth. He was downright edible.
I could be exaggerating though, I did have a little too much to drink. To cut the long story short, I went back to his hotel room... and it was a totally ah-mah-zing night.
Well, the rest is a bit sordid.
One night stands are supposed to be. You creep out, or he does. I stole the march on him and left before he opened those heavenly eyes. I filed the night away in my head under Fantastic Experiences.
When I was an old woman sitting on a rocking chair on my porch eating ice cream while my seven or even ten grand children played in the front yard, I would recall the night and tell me myself, "Blair, you scored well that night."
Then I got ready for the Interview day at the new job I was celebrating. Thankfully I did get the job.
But now you must know where I'm going with this.
That's right, that unforgettably gorgeous man I was going to be congratulating myself over when I was wrinkled and gray, he was my new boss! And even without the alcohol he was climb-worthy, but I should add, he was what any reasonable woman would also call a boss-hole...

This was a likable book and ok for me. As the story between Grady and Blair starts, along with their one night stand, I loved it. Their chemistry was on fire, so was their one night together and you are pulled into those scenes. After that, it just started feeling ok for me. When it was discovered that Grady is Blair’s boss, in order for Grady to resist, he becomes more stern and a bit rude most of the time. Both characters for me were ok, although I didn’t get 21 year from Blair sometimes. She could be a bit bold, grown woman bold.
Overall, it wasn’t bad nor was it a great read, however; I was still engaged and liked the story.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
This was such a heartwarming/feel good office romance. Blair meets Grady one weekend at a bar and has an amazingly steamy one night stand. Blair goes for an interview on Monday morning, gets hired and introduced to the ceo/boss who happens to be none other than her one-night stand, Grady. What follows is lots of super steamy office moments and family drama I really loved these two together. Grady is so grumpy and honestly, Blair is no better 😂. I loved that she held her own with him and did not take his shit lying down. A little sad towards the end which I think made their HEA so much worth it. All in all i really enjoyed this and had my office romance craving satisfied.
I started reading the book based on the blub and that was what I expected the book centered to be around. Too many things just did not sit right with me, why would you have a degree and go work as an assistant but not in the type of company that can benefit what you studied for. What was with the clients ogling Blair? why is that important considering nobody does anything about it. All of a sudden we have family drama, and intermingled as well. There was just too much happening, it was like one of those crazy soap opera's. Overall I enjoyed the interactions and chemistry between Blair and Grady and I liked the characters.

First time reading this author and I have mixed feelings. There are a lot of great components to this book then a few that bothered me. Let's get started. *Spoilers ahead* You have Blair who is a recent Computer Science college grad, this made me really excited because I have a CS degree and it's hard to find books about women who work in STEM. She visiting her sister in Denver and decides she wants to make a go of it to move there. She lucks out on a job opportunity, but it's to be a personal assistant/executive assistant. Now, there is nothing wrong with that job, but what bothers me is she freaking went to college for four years for an engineering type degree and decided to become an EA. At first, I thought, "well, it is a CyberSecurity company, maybe it's a stepping stone and Grady (the CEO) is really technical and helped create the software" Nope.
Grady, your usual alpha in romance novels, demanding, seemingly possessive. Apparently, he has a dad who is a former Navy Seal that you don't learn abut until halfway through the book. This was a bit surprising because there was never a hint or discussion about his parents anywhere. His relationship with his father is contentious, and for good reason, his dad doesn't support Grady emotionally and expresses discontent because he didn't follow in his footsteps and join the military.
The sexual tension between the two characters is palpable and the premise for their conflict seems apparent, she slept with a man who later will become her boss...but that doesn't end up being the climax of the book. The climax is Grady's dad somehow got her dad killed.
The sex scenes in this book are great and there are A LOT of them. So if you're into that, this is a great book to pick up.
The biggest problems I had with the book: 1. There was a lot of contradictory statements and behavior. For example, Blair and Grady agreed to have a NSA relationship then immediately after Blair tells Grady she wants him to be exclusive and she needs a key to his place O_O 2. Some scenes are really cute, but they would come out of left field and didn't always serve a greater purpose on driving the plot. For example, Blair randomly showed up at Grady's place demanding he go hiking with her. It was so out of the blue. 3. There are some reactions from Grady that were questionable. For example, there is a scene where Blair is basically getting eye banged by a potential client and Grady doesn't do or say anything and neither does Blair. 4. The biggest thing that bothered me was a scene toward the end of the book where Grady accused his dad of ruining things between him and Blair and then demanded his dad go grovel and apologize to her. That...is not a good "grand gesture". I would NOT take a man back if he sent his dad to apologize to me.
All in all, I did enjoy the book, though the ending felt rushed which is a shame because the beginning felt really put together. I would still read something from this author again.

DNF. At the point where I stopped it was so early in the book that it would almost not seem fair to the author to write a review. (I stopped at the point where the female lead is interviewed and has been brought in to meet the male lead.) I knew before this that I wasn't going to finish because the storyline was formulaic right from the start. There was word vomit and unnecessary details that have nothing to do with the actual story. This was awful from the jump but I'm writing this because it is an Age Gap romance. There is ambiguity of how big the gap is because while we learn that she's 21 we don't know how old he is. Some of the information contained within the word vomit puts him close to at least the 15 year age gap. For me especially when they are as young as this female lead anything over 5 years (maybe 6) is a no. The older the female lead the more I can accept a larger age gap but no matter the age anything more than about 8 years is a no. STEAM - ? SEX SCENES - I read one so I'm sure there are more. It was wordy. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Blair gets an invitation to interview with a company that is one of the best out there in Cyber Security and decides to celebrate when her sister makes the suggestion😁 When they spot a gorgeous sexy man, Blair decides to do something she never has before and that’s to engage in a one night stand.... and it’s the best night of her life❣️ However, when Monday comes around and she interviews at the company she desperately wants to work for - well let’s just say she comes face to face with her one night stand - and he’s her CEO and one night stand....😳 Will they be able to work together or will their time together that night cause issues?
This story was thoroughly enjoyable and the characters were charming and kept me engaged throughout. Definitely would recommend if you like office romance stories and grumpy CEOs😂 I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and willingly leave my honest review❤️
Imagine having an amazing one night stand with a gorgeous guy and finding out the next day that he's your new boss. Yikes, and and at work Grady is all business and doesn't want her to continue as his employee. But the chemistry between the two is explosive and has a tendency to flame up over and over. Lots of drama and both characters have some personality flaws and insecurities. In fact at times neither are likable and immature. Some side drama when his father, a retired Navy Seal comes into the picture and Blaire feels that he is responsible for her father's death. The ending seems a little rushed but the epilogue ties things together again. I received a free copy via Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to review it.
This one had my pet peeve of shaky knees with an inability to support herself and flat out falling over when she was trying to run from the guy.
I was excited for this girl to learn from the guy and contribute to the company but there was no mentoring. Her trembling was irritating and the times she chose to assert herself didn't engage me. It seemed like she half heartedly followed the advice of her sister and then her friend but couldn't do much of anything on her own.
I enjoy the books of Iona Rose, but this one missed the mark. The story is good and the characters are richly drawn, but the execution isn't what I expect from this author. Grady Abbott is the CEO, and co-founder, of a cyber security firm, FireEye. He is furious that his secretary is late, again, and he demands that his CFO, Allen Canter, replace her immediately. Allen knows just who to call, Blair Tatum, the woman he met a few weeks ago at the job fair at the University of Texas. Stunned, she can't believe her good luck because working at FireEye is a plum job and, besides, it's based in Denver where her sister, Layne, lives. To celebrate her new job, the sisters go to a bar to relax and enjoy the evening. While there, she not only runs into a gorgeous, confident man, she propositions him, and right there in the middle of the bar, they devour each other! When Blair enters the office the next day to meet her new boss, she can't believe her eyes. Grady, meet Blair! Oh, you already know each other? Neither can believe they're facing the person who lit up their life the night before. Grady won't have her as his employee. How can he, he's too uncomfortable having her around after what they've shared, but he wants her. How can that work when he doesn't want any feelings involved with this sexy woman. They squabble like high school kids and Grady has so many excuses for not wanting a relationship, most of which are false, even to his own ears. He's never learned to love and doesn't know what he's feeling for Blair. She wants to feel important and loved, but she'll try to be professional at work. They slip from professional into personal each time they're together. Their conversations are slightly juvenile, at times, and definitely forced. I didn't like either of them and especially Blair, when she unfairly claims that Grady's father was responsible for the death of hers. They were too wishy washy and too afraid to face the fears and sadness of their pasts. Blair comes to terms with her past, as she spends time with Grady's father, and she begins to understand that what she thought he was responsible for during the war has torn him up just as much as it hurt her. Grady is redeemed when he finally comes to the realization that he does know how to feel for someone other than himself. The ending feels slightly rushed, but is saved by a sweet epilogue.
Blair is a recent college graduate who has come to Denver to help her pregnant sister until she finds a job. After Blair receives a request for a job interview from a prestigious Denver company she goes out to celebrate, gets drunk, and ends up coming on to Grady and spending the night with him. When she has her interview she finds out Grady, the CEO of the company, would be her boss and he doesn’t want to work with her. She threatens him and he agrees to hire her but he will not have a relationship with an employee. Is the attraction between Blair and Grady too much to ignore? Will they be able to maintain a business only relationship when she is his executive assistant?
I thoroughly enjoyed this story about a relationship that started after an encounter in a bar where they both had been drinking but then progressed to a work relationship. The author did a great job developing the characters of both Blair and Grady and I wanted them both to find happiness. They tried to do a casual relationship with no commitment but problems soon developed. They had other family issues to solve if they were to find happiness. The epilogue provided a great ending for their story.

Steamy, feel-good story I liked this book, which started with a very forward, hot steamy one-night-stand between Blair and Grady. Many such encounters involve only first names, so when Blair attends her job interview a few days later, she is in for the shock of her life. Grady is her prospective employer and although she starts working for Grady, he is determined to make her life a living hell. The girl I think is a saint because I would have kicked Grady to the curb a thousand times for his cruel behaviour and treatment of Blair. Iona is a great storyteller with great character development, good use of vocabulary, scene-appropriate dialogue and great imagination. We get a HEA but only because, like the reader, Blair loved that brooding, technically very lonely, handsome hunk, even if he comes with no filter at all. As the story unfolds, we learn that our protagonists are actually connected by a lot more than their irrepressible attraction to one another, something much deeper and it has to do with their respective fathers. In their own ways, both suffered because of them and the truth will almost tear the lovers apart. I am happy to recommend this entertaining, easy-to-read page-turner.

Wow. I'm very impressed. I decided to give this author a shot after coming across her on Instagram.
Craving the CEO is a story about Blair and Grady who share one HOT night together, only to realize that she is his new secretary. Blair never anticipated having Grady as her new boss but she isn't going to let it get in the way of her amazing new job. The both of them also never saw coming how much attraction they have and how similar their pasts are.
This book was an easy read. It wasn't dark although there was some sad topics brought up it was overall, pretty lighthearted. It was also super steamy! I love a girl who knows what she likes!
I loved this book! I'm glad I read it, I was previously familiar with this trope (one night stands to working together) but this has to be my favourite I've read so far.
4.5 stars This book was very well written with a fast paced and interesting plot! Really enjoyed it!
Blair is a sassy girl out for the night when she meets Grady. They have a hot night together. They are both surprised when Monday rolls arounds and they meet after she is hired to be his assistant. Grady wants to get rid of her and remove temptation. Blair is determined to make the job work as it is a great opportunity for her. Grady makes her life difficult at work. Grady's VP, Allen, really believes in her and keeps pushing her forward for projects. She is so drawn to Grady but the job is more important. There is a point, as always, where the chemistry between Grady and Blair is to strong to resist. He keeps offering her casual status. She resists as long as she can. In the background, Grady is dealing with his father who has had issues since being discharged from the service. Their stories intersect in an unexpected way. Grady has finally decided not to give her up and Blair has decided to run. It is a good steamy read with plenty of emotion as these two make it to their HEA.

Craving the CEO was about Blair and Grady who meet at a bar and have a one night stand, afterwards she goes to an interview and gets the job but then meets her boss who just so happens to be no other than the man himself. He doesn't want her working there mainly because that night the weekend before won't leave his mind. But she has managed to convince him to allow her to work there, their chemistry is beautiful but will they ever be more than sex.
This story was a beautiful story, I love how the challenge that they went through wasn't about Grady himself but about something from his father's past. I like how Blair didn't give up on her job straight away because she knew the awkwardness that it would be to work with him.
The only part about the book I would flaw is that I felt it ended too soon. They got their ending and that was beautiful but more details throughout the book mainly about Grady and an epilogue about where they ended up in the future but if that is the only thing I can come up with then this book was incredible I loved the characters and would recommend!
On paper, this book had a lot going for it - office romance, grumpy vs sunshine, strong heroine, good supporting cast. But these pieces just really didn't come together at all for me. I almost DNF'd this book a few times, but there would be scenes where the chemistry or character development was great so I'd keep reading and then everything would fall flat for me again. For one example that I think really sums up my feelings - there was a scene at about 60% where Grady and Blair order takeout for dinner at Grady's apartment and after they place the order, they sleep together. We get a few sexy scenes in a row (including shower sex the next morning) and I was so disconnected and uncaring about these characters that I kept wondering where the takeout they ordered was. It wasn't that the writing was bad or the characters were poorly developed - quite the opposite really - but they just didn't connect in my brain. I was very hot and cold on this book while I was reading it and overall found it to be pretty tepid.
Blair is visiting her sister when she gets a call about a job at her dream company. She accepts an interview for it and her and her sister end the night going out to celebrate it. She runs into Grady at the bar and does something she never done before decides to have a one night stand with him. Grady is the CEO of the company that she is interviewing for and when he sees her the day after their night together he is against hiring her. Once she convnce him to take a chance on her its not long before sparks are flying between them at the office. Will Grady see that she is perfect for him? Will Blair give up and quit?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Heartfelt Romance Iona Rose has written a very lovely romantic and tearful storyline. The main characters, Grady, the CEO, and Blair, his Assistant met in a peculiar way before Blair knew of an important interview with him the next day. Then when the next day rolls around, all bets are off. The other characters that support the storyline nicely are, Allen the CEO, Layne who is Blair’s older pregnant sister, and Grady’s father who retired as a SEAL and continues to struggle with the actions during combat. All of this is wrapped together and present a well-written book from cover to cover as well as holding my interest for the duration. I’m certainly recommending this book for your reading enjoyment. Iona Rose is a great writer and this is one of hers that shouldn’t be passed up. PEACE.
Captivating: When Blair was hired to be the CEO's assistant, she was shocked to find out that it was her incredibly sexy one night stand from a few days prior. Grady was similarly surprised to see Blair and at first he was very gruff and standoffish. Despite their best efforts, neither could deny the incredibly strong feelings they had for the other. I liked them together as a couple but it took a while for them to work things out and they had some obstacles along the way. Smooth and seamless; this book flowed well and was well paced. It was steamy yet also full of emotion and realism. Overall another successful book by this talented author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Craving the CEO by Iona Rose an intriguing, interestingsteamy, emotional and steamy office romance story of Grady and Blair..She never had a one night stand before, all she wanted to do is to celebrate for snagging her Interview at her anticipated new job..but when she saw a gorgeous man on steroids and she was hook, line and sinker..they spend unforgettable night together not knowing that her job interview is for him and shes going to get shock of her life when she found out! how can you forget the man who rocked your world and when he found out that your the one hes going to interviewing for the job and being rude top you, what are you gonna do? read it to find out!

I loved reading this! There are no issues with ex partners or jalouse women and men, no cheating and the story is feeling real as it is. It might happen to one of us! Ok, chances are slim... but not out of possibility all along... Grady is a bit on the complicated side but we take him as he is. Grumpy bag would be my nickname for him. Blair couldn’t be better described as she is for a woman her age. They simply fit. Allen couldn’t be a better friend and Layne a better big sis. Oh gosh, I would have loved this not to stop! Thank you very much for your lovely book!

Could have been called "Challenging the CEO, and getting away with it".
A feel-good office romance story, but without being another 'handsome and rich bloke, blah, toe curling kisses, blah, amazing sex, blah, happy ever after' story. I Rose's story, girl meets boy and has a steamy one-night stand. Monday morning girl goes for a job interview and guess who she's interviewing with? Fast forwarding past that somewhat stereotypical part, and the book gets sooo much better!
The girl has gumption and challenges her new boss in many ways; the poor boy is not used to people not immediately doing what he demands them to do (he never asks).
The connection between Blaire and Grady was obvious from the very beginning. Imagine going to your job interview and realising your one night stand is your new boss.
Blaire doesn't take the easy way out and fights for the job she wants meaning working right beside Grady every day!!
When it turns out their pasts and family lives are actually connected in a devastating way its almost too much for Blaire to take.
Wonderfully written book I really enjoyed everything about Blaire and Grady's story.
Definitely worth a read thoroughly enjoyed and definitely recommended
This was a very straightforward boss-employee work relationship book that starts with a meet cute before our female MC lands the job as the male MC's assistant. This obviously causes our first problem: the sexual tension. However, we end up having other problems as well--one which I wasn't expecting. Overall, it was a bit more on the generic side, and that's completely fine for this type of book. Honestly, there's only so many boss/CEO/billionaire storylines out there. It's really just finding interesting combinations of these plots. I guess I wanted a bit more drama involved, which knocked it down a star. I still very much recommend it, though.
This book is SO GOOD! The story of Grady and Blair is super steamy and has a terrific storyline. Grady is different than most boss characters; very conflicted in his desire of Blair and hesitant to give in to the attraction. There is a back and forth between the two of them as they decide if they can work together and sleep together but no relationship. The ending is well worth the wait to see what happens between the two of them.

Plenty of sex, plenty of anticipation, plenty of...everything except getting there. At chapter FIFTY, when our H and h are off on yet another rabbit trail to nowhere, I finally decided I just don’t really care whether these two have a hea or not. They’ve been spinning their wheels forever now. I’ve had enough. I shouldn’t be able to close a book at the 70% point, and not die of curiosity as to how it ends. No problem with that in this case. I’m done. Your mileage, as they say, may vary.
This is a nice heartwarming romance with not too much drama, Grady & Blair meet at a club then have an amazing one night together as she leaves when he is in the shower. He doesn’t realise his best friend and CFO is interviewing her on the following Monday to be Grady’s Executive Assistant. Grady is moody and grumpy and doesn’t want her working for him but you know what happens next to get them their HEA. There is a little sadness when she finds out about how her Dad died when she was 11 he was a navy seal.
After a one night stand with each other Blair and Grady find themselves working together when Grady's work colleague hires Blair to be his personal assistant. Trying to keep their relationship professional is pointless as they can't resist the chemistry between them. Add in Grady's drunken father who has an unknown connection to Blair's family and this becomes a really satisfying read. Read an ARC for an honest review.
There was just something about this book that didn't click with me. I'm not saying it was a bad book, it just felt off to me from what I'd normally expect from this author. I did really like the premise of the story. As for the characters they were just OK. I can't deny the heat and sparks that they generated together though. In fact those elements were definitely on point. This is my candid, elective review.
Good tender and romantic story The story is very romantic, mainly complicated by the desire of the two characters of Grady and Blair, especially not to have a relationship, hence the title, because the two are torn by this attraction that they refrain. It's tender (but not completely sweet) hot, and very well written to bring situations and feelings to us. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
