Eh...this one was really saved by Yara. I'm not as familiar with Jon Kent because I don't typically follow Superman or the family, but the obsession with time just didn't work. I could definitely understand putting it in there a couple of times, but to continuously make references to it came off kind of annoying. Yara was just as charming as ever. I love that she made a strong case to making sure people understood that there are gods/goddesses, myths, and legends outside of the typical Greek and Roman ones. It was clear that Jon's lack of knowledge rubbed her the wrong way. I'm in a place where I don't know if the story really matters to me when it's all said and done. I may pick up the second issue just because it'll be a chance for me to see more of Yara, but Superman isn't necessarily doing it for me. He's a little on the naïve side and definitely doesn't have a strong grasp of the world around him. That panel where Yara is attempting to put him in "check" to the reality of the world was important. She's actively aware of the issues that will occur no matter how "good" the world is, but Jon seems to think otherwise. I don't know. He read really young to look so old. Maybe that was my problem with this issue. It felt juvenile until Yara came in the picture.

As with the others, I'm struggling to recognize Jon Kent? Was this a change made when B*ndis aged him up? I haven't seen any of his personality across these Future State books.

Anyway, I continue to enjoy Flor as Wonder Woman. I like her vibe and the way she handles her targets. I'm excited to read more of her.

4-stars thanks to Yara Flor, who has been a standout in Future State. I didn't pick up all the FS titles, so I don't know what's going on in Jon's title, but is he always this obsessed with time? From what I do know of him and his character, I don't recognize him. Art-wise, he even looks more like Clark than Jon typically does. His obsession with time seems more like a Flash thing, but maybe it's just part of this version in FS. Moving on, Yara's reaction to/at the helicopter crash is hilarious and I'm happy to see more Brazilian mythology added to her story. My bigger gripe with the story involves the suns' race and the supposed effects on Earth. It's not the moon, which orbits us. We orbit the Sun, so how can it race around the world? I know it's a comic book...suspension of belief, blah, blah, blah...but, this just doesn't make sense.

I dug the artwork but I'm really not that engaged with any of the Fs characters so far

Enjoyed this one quite a bit! It allowed me see more of Yara as Wonder Woman and her dealing with crime in Brazil which I don't think I've seen before in a comic!

Because no matter how many three-day workweeks or rotating syndicalist governments the world puts in place, powerful people game the system.

First I read the second issue. Now, after having read the first, I understand what's up. It's a new age of heroes, specifically, Superman and Wonder Woman.

This issue gets better towards the end.

So much fun!

I really liked this issue. Yara and Jon have to break up two Suns that are fighting. These two characters have a lot of fun together and I really hope they team up in the future. The art was cool and I loved some the panel layouts they had. I also LOVE Yara day drinking with the Sun and the Moon, finally a Wonder Woman I can relate to! Excited for the next issue.

I had intended to get the Joëlle Jones Wonder Woman, but accidentally grabbed this one instead. You know? I was pleasantly surprised. It took me a minute to acclimate to the art, and I have no idea who Jon Kent is, but I enjoyed this. I’m in for #2 of 2, too.

In this issue, there are two stories happening, that blend slightly when Superman and Wonder Woman sit down for a chat. I like this Future State version of Wonder Woman, and her mythology is expanded on more here.

This is a likeable pairing in this first issue. Yara is probably the best character in Future State and she is on full display here. Jon Kent is decent and the two are playing well enough off of each other so far. The art was good for Yara but it felt off for Jon Kent.

This was surprisingly good and tells much more about Yara Flor than her debut issue the previous week. Jon Kent gets a better outing too than his previous story. A great read

This had a few tinges of Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman, especially regarding the Sun God portions.

Future State

Great book, too bad it read out of order. But was able to follow the story. Artwork great as well. Great to see Jon in the roll of Superman.
