WHEN THE BLOOD HOUNDS ARE LOOKING FOR TROUBLE YOU DON'T WANT TO GET IN THEIR WAY!

Looking for Trouble: A Blood Hounds Novel (The Blood Hounds Book 3) by Ron Schwab is a well written Western mystery suspense thriller that will hold your interest throughout with the action and mind-blowing twists. The characters are well developed, and you will find yourself routing for Trace and Darby to save the day, solve the crimes, locate the victims, and bring justice to the small town of Lockwood, Wyoming.

Trace and Darby Crockett own The Crockett Detective Agency, which takes on contracted work from the Allan Pinkerton himself due to their talent, determination, and brains. These two "Blood Hounds" risk their lifes to solve the brutal killing of the local Sheriff, an incident woman, and find a thirteen year old boy on the run from greedy corrupt government officials and a town full of hired guns set out to steal, murder, and intimate some of the town's residents all for an unknown man who not only is providing the purse strings but is just as corrupt and ruthless as they come.

As with all the rest of the books and series I have had the luck of reading by Ron Schwab, this is a very enjoyable book and series. If you are into Western action mystery thrillers where the heroes are true heroes with good morals, kindness, and even humorous at times, this is a great book for you.

Quotes:

"The most dangerous people are them that is either stupid or evil."

"Among the criminal class there was a severe shortage of high functioning brains."

"Folks had a bad habit of deciding they wanted something and then digging up all the reasons they could think of why they should be entitled to it. They sometimes chased this thing even they had to do something illegal or immortal to get what they desired. He had called it "helpful rationalization." Out right thieves did this, convincing themselves they were somehow entitled."

This is old western family oriented series of unending exciting adventures that immediately reaches out and grabs your undivided attention from beginning to end. I was hooked within the first few pages of ongoing western folklore excitement!

Most definitely another five star masterpiece by Mr. Schwab, who seems to have the knack for writing old American western folklore that constantly touches anyone's heartstrings! The ongoing hardships are handled in one heartwarming episode after the other! The outstanding descriptive storylines successfully maintains anyone's undivided attention throughout these exceptionally descriptive renditions of how I perceived our old American West was finally settled! Too, the character selections were unsurpassed in their commanding descriptiveness of each and every exciting adventure they were compassionately selected for!
No time to put this masterpiece aside until I had read the final word. If you don't have time read it a
I before the final paragraph has been absorbed, then wait until you can give this story your undivided attention! Just try it, and you will see what will mean! Outstanding camaraderie among the good guys, which definitely cuts into those responsible for their lifetime of unending injustice events!
Most definitely recommend this compassionately motivated story of realistic old American western folklore adventures to everyone, but you wild West seekers will definitely be appeased from beginning to end! Even you non-western fanatics will find yourselves completely engrossed within a very few pages of this compassionately motivated story of how real justice settled our western compromises! You are definitely the losers if you don't follow my recommendations!!!😃

It's autumn of 1882 and Brady Yates, 13 years old and better known as 'Trouble' in his small hometown of Lockwood, Wyoming, is a powerhouse go-get-er with several independent businesses he keeps up with to help his single and disabled Mom Sarah with the bills. He handles everything from selling kittens to the mouse and rat-impaired households in his neighborhood to carrying messages and groceries for his neighbors and selling vegetables he and his mother grow to the local grocery. His best friend and partner in several financial endeavors is his neighbor across the creek, Samantha Morris - Sammy to her friends - and they have been besties as long as they can remember, joined at the hip and moving in lockstep through the neighborhood and the wilderness just behind their farms.

But Trouble has gone missing, suspiciously on the same afternoon that the local sheriff, Will Bridges, and a retired bordello worker were murdered at her home. Sarah and Sammy are going to find Trouble, one way or another. Fortunately for them, contract Pinkerton agents Darby Maguire Crockett, her newly wedded husband Trace, and their new Crockett Detective Agency employee Audra Scott, along with an unexpected assist from young friend Maddie Sanford and her wolf-dog Pirate, have just come to Lockwood on the Stage at the behest of local bank manager, Matthew Gaines, to search for Trouble and find out who killed Sheriff Bridges and Mrs. Lucy Brisbane.

What a ride! Another all-nighter - so glad I'm retired and can sleep when I reach the end. Next up, Snapp vs Snapp.

I've said before about Ron Schwab, but each new book of his I read is better than the last. Trouble for Looking is the third in a series. Mr. Schwab has certainly left many things unfinished which could be parts of future books in this series. In this mystery, a young boy witnesses the murder of the sheriff and a lady of the evening. Some of the bad guys saw the kid, and he knows he's being followed. Enter Trace and Darby working their own detective series through the well-known Pinkerton Detective Agency. There is so much packed into this story, it is entertaining. As an aside, this is the first Western which introduces "sandwiches". Another highlight is Schwab's use of intelligent dialog. Gone is all simple, three or four-worded sentences. People have jobs so their town can grow and thrive.
I highly recommend this outstanding book, Looking for Trouble ( The Blood Hounds Book 3 )!

Solid Western

I’ve read all 3 books in the Blood Hounds series, thus far. I enjoy all the characters, and even the new ones introduced in the subsequent stories. The scene settings work for me; as they are just enough, without slowing the story down. I believe they are paced about right, in terms of timing, dialogue, and action. My only disappointment in the tales are that you don’t get much of peek into the lives of the main characters, either before the story unfolds, of after it wraps up. I personally feel a little cheated on how things are going with them, or what changes are made once the action is over.

Brady or trouble as some folks call him witnesses the murder of the county sheriff and the gang that did it unfortunately they see him there theym

Brady has to run to the mountains to hide from them as they chase him he takes a buffalo hide and supplies with him but he's going to scavenge for food. He's only 13 but very knowledgeable and has been hiking the mountains since he was a small boy so he knows all the ins and outs. In the meantime trace and Darby are called in to solve the murders of the sheriff and the girl named Lucy and define Brady who is also named trouble. They don't have many clues to go on and it's a high profile case.

Disappointing

The writing is good but leaves too many gaps in what could have been a much more satisfying read. Unfortunately, the author fails to take advantage of nearly every opportunity to hold the reader's attention to his story. It's simply a half of several tales none of them drawn to a satisfying conclusion. Begin story line/end story with nothing in the middle. Sort of a sandwich made up of two slices of plain bread and no meat in the middle.

Very best of Ron Schwab. I have read all of this authors series books, so far this my favorite. Many characters in this book, one of my favorites is a young boy of 13. He reminds me of one of my grandsons. Highly intelligent, resourceful, independent, and loves his mom.
Of course it is a detective book, with a who done it, and why. Easy read in one day.
I'm looking forward to Mr. Schwab`s next book.

I am really enjoying this series and hope it continues. Trace and Darby Crockett are husband and wife Pinkerton agents, along with rather feisty teenager named Maddie. They are in Lockwood to find Trouble, a hard working teen who witnessed a murder and hasn't been seen since. They are also investigating the murder of the sheriff. There is something strange going on. A land grab for land tha seems useless to anybody.

Looking for Trouble

Ron Schwab is an author whom I enjoy. His writing style is very fluid and the pkt lines are well thought out. This is the third "series" I have read. The first two books were much tighter is the storytelling. This one seemed to want a very happy ending for everyone. Sorry, that did not happen much in the Old West. Still, the characters are interesting and the pace of the action was good. A 4.4 out of 5 rating.

Wonderful story with many dynamic characters to keep up with. Ron Schwab does a great job making it possible to keep track of everyone, then brings everything to together nicely. I enjoy the mix of ethnicities and the dignity given to those Indian women involved. Fun and clean reading, for sure.

well done story. Trouble is a 13 year old boy who got where he shouldn't
.have gotten because he heard gun shots. He escaped and went into the the mountains.
The Blood Hound Detectives were hired to find him. They also had to find the killers who Trouble saw.
I enjoyed the story and it was difficult to leave it.

A great series

Unfortunately I read books one and four before realizing it was a series. Luckily, due to the author's exceptional writing skills, I was able to put all the pieces together and fully enjoy books two and three in proper order. I hope that someday they might add more stories to this series and if they do I'm definitely going to read them.

I really do like this series!

Fun series with a different couple but consistent plot lines and western dialog that makes sense without being too much. I recommend this series, and this book.

Damn good, all three books.

I thought the whole series was well written. The fact that the books are almost adult in nature is cool. The west was a smelly, dirty and really wild. City people from the east had real culture shock, some still do.

I read this book previously and realised it after a few chapters. A very good story. Has most everything a western should have. Lots of twists and turns. I really enjoyed it. All the books by this author are excellent reading. Thanks for all the entertainment.

A wonderful, exciting story with engaging characters.

As I have felt before, "this is the best one yet" I'm hooked on Tom Schwab. Every one of his books, you can't wait to see how it ends and are sorry that it's over.

I liked this book better than the previous in the series. The story was a better pace, and easier to follow. I was invested in Brady and his storyline immediately. A lot of action to keep things moving and interesting.

Excellent adventure and mystery

I chose this story randomly and although it was book 3 of a 3 part story, I was more than able to follow as the author does an outstanding job of weaving Characters from his other books. Now I need to read books 1 and 2 of The Blood Hounds.

This could have been a 4-star book. But there was a scene where a child was bleeding to death, and instead of attending to them immediately, the protagonists instead engaged in a few minutes of pointless banter. It seemed like an editing issue, but it really put me off.
