The struggle for power has begun. The United Coven and Alliance is rumored to be crumbling from the inside. Magical practitioners who operate outside the powerful organization are being tracked down. The Dominion, a powerful Afro-Caribbean relic has been stolen and four people are missing. Coyote, the mythical trickster spirit, believes Dr. Arienne Cerasola is the right person to hunt down the missing artifact and restore the balance. Maybe Arienne, an unemployed archaeologist and inexperienced witch, is the person destined to save the magical world...or maybe Coyote's belief that she has a seventy-percent chance of success is a grave miscalculation.
I'm an indie with a passion for writing fantasy that takes my readers on a fun journey where they can meet interesting characters and learn a little about legends and myths. I've been writing for years now, but only jumped into the world of self-publishing when I knew I had created a world that would be light, entertaining and fun. There's enough stress and strife in this world - I want to take my readers on a journey that will always end someplace good. I write fun fiction with smart dialogue about interesting characters.
I have found that sometimes the second book of a series is a disappointment. Not here. This was possibly even better than the first book. Character development continues. Ari learns how to handle more of her powers. Good supporting characters all help. Definitely a fun story. Recommended.
Awesome. Money has run out but the new job doesn't seem to have a salary. However she knows that she can locate the missing item. Magic, voodoo, secret organisations, stolen items of power and a witch that doesn't think she has what it takes (at least magically) to get the job done. A wonderful view of voodoo and the inherent dangers plus great storytelling mixed with characters that live and breathe all mixed into an exciting read. Great stuff.
It is so nice to find a kindle book that is this well edited, with a female mc that is quite capable of saving the day despite her doubts about her powers and who, like Indy, keeps on going no matter what they throw at her. Note to make readers: this is not a romance novel, but instead is a thriller reminiscent of early DeLint as well as Spielberg and Lucas. An easy read but a good one. Recommended!
I'm not sure what genre this series is suppose to be in but to me it seems to be a combination of mystery adventure, paranormal cozy, and fantasy. Humor is sprinkled through out with great characters. This book was an interesting read that never fails to entertain.
