When an inheritance forces Natalie Green back to her hometown, she finds herself knee-deep in family heirlooms and unwanted memories. And some of those memories involve landscaper Chris Hennessy—the guy whose virginity she took all those years ago. As the two begin rekindling an old flame, Natalie realizes her entire life is about to be uprooted.
Amanda Heger is a writer, attorney, and bookworm. She lives in the Midwest with two unruly rescue dogs and a husband who encourages her delusions of grandeur. She's also certain that Amy Poehler is her soulmate, and one of her life goals is to adopt a pig and name it Ron Swineson.
I liked UPROOTED for the most part. Amanda Heger did a great job setting up the town in what was already a short book. I really liked Chris because he’s just your average joe and most importantly he understands Natalie and what makes her tick. He was great at taking care of her without making it seem smothering. In such a short story I like to know the details a little faster so the mystery around the “accident” and why Natalie is worried about everyone in her hometown hating her could have been revealed a little sooner for my tastes.
But seemed to be over so fast. It felt like she was coming on to that guy so soon yet was acting the opposite earlier. It made no sense. He should have made the moves as nothing was holding him back but I really liked the story although his sister was a real kook.
