What if her best friend turned out to be her soulmate?
Julie Hughes had a plan for her life. But that plan didn’t include moving home after college, single with no job. And it definitely didn’t include falling for her best friend.
Travis never asked out the one girl he wanted to in high school. But it’s against the rules to date your best friend.
Hoping things can be different now, Travis jumps at the chance to hire Julie at his store. But his plan to spend time with her is foiled when she tells him she signed up with a dating app.
As Julie goes on dates that are epic failures in every way, Travis is the one she shares the stories with. He’s more and more sure she’s the girl for him. But admitting his feelings might scare her away.
Will their friendship turn into something more, or will fear end their relationship forever?
Audiobook is available on YouTube as free posted by the author but it is recorded by AI. 🤖 Story is super simple, but that’s not what bothered me. This has been tagged as Christian Romance but besides Chapter 12 where it was genuine, the word “pray” was thrown in a lot of places just for the sake of it 🥺
This was such a cute story and there are definitely some swoony moments that gave me heart eyes. I loved the friendship between Travis & Julie and how they picked it right back up after years of being apart. I really enjoyed this first book and look forward to what's to come in this new series.
Julie returns home to Twin Creeks after finishing her college degree. She moves back in with her parents feeling disappointed because she doesn't have a husband or a job in her field. While Julie has been gone, her best friend Travis has finished a business degree online and has taken over the family business, growing it and making it a huge success. Julie starts working for Travis while looking for another job in her field but as they work closely together, Travis realizes the time has come to tell Julie he has loved her for many years. A sweet story with fun characters.
It's a sweet, short, fun story, the kind of light romantic comedy that you can't hate, but it doesn't blow your mind. Nice escape.
Julie returns to her small town after graduation. She doesn't want to, but she doesn't have a job or a boyfriend, so she goes back to live in her family's house. She meets her best friend since school, Travis, who is in love with her, but he can't tell her all these years. And anyone can predict The rest.
JG's review of 'Her Best Friend' by Hannah Jo Abbott
This is an excellent christian romance. The story is clean, entertaining and very well written. It will hold your interest throughout the entire story. Hannah Abbott is an excellent writer and I look forward to reading more of her work
Friendship then love... it often happens that way. This is a cute story of childhood best friends who finally get the courage to tell each other how they feel. However, there are curveballs that come in... will Julie and Travis be able to make it work? You'll have to read to find out for yourself :)
I love a good second chance story. Although this one didn’t flow as smoothly as I like, and the conversations were a little choppy, I liked Travis. He was a great hero and the small town they lived in was adorable.
We always have dreams but real life takes planning and commitment. I liked that these two finally own up to their true feelings for each other. They are building a future together which is the way it should be. Thanks for the journey.
Friends since grade school, Travis and Julie reunite when Julie returns home after college graduation. Julie isn’t happy to be living at home again, but with no job yet, she doesn’t have a choice.
This story uses one of my favorite tropes—the main characters grew up together as best buddies, grew apart, meet up again as adults and fall in love. Or rather, acknowledge they love each other. Ahh.
Her Best Friend (Love off Limits) by Hannah Jo Abbott is a good clean Christian book with a plot that I imagine a lot of young couples experience when they have been close friends and then go off to college. I look forward to reading more in this series.
A delightful story about a couple that have been best friends since childhood. Now that Julie is back home after graduating from college Travis realizes he shouldn’t wait much longer to tell her how he feels. Will Julie return his feelings or keep searching for her perfect life?
A sweet romance. I like stories where a character has a mapped out plan then God does something better. Her Best Friend is one of those stories. I definitely recommend this book.
