About the author

Tsugumi Ōba (大場つぐみ), born in Tokyo, Japan, is a writer best known for the manga Death Note. His/her real identity is a closely guarded secret. As stated by the profile placed at the beginning of each Death Note manga, Ōba collects teacups and develops manga plots while holding his knees on a chair, similar to a habit of L, one of the main characters of the series.

There is speculation that Tsugumi Ōba is a pen name and that he is really Hiroshi Gamō. Pointing out that in Bakuman the main character's uncle was a one-hit wonder manga artist who worked on a gag super hero manga, very similar to Gamō and Tottemo! Luckyman in all aspects. Also that the storyboards drawn by Ōba greatly resemble Tottemo! Luckyman in style.

the hot takes in this were so bad 💀

firstly; discrimination isn’t only bad when it occurs at an institutional level, i don’t know why yuri tried to act like her saying “this guy-on-guy stuff is hard to take” wasn’t homophobia just because gay marriage wasn’t legal ???? there’s a difference between interpersonal discrimination and systemic discrimination but they’re both bad.

secondly; the fact that she then decided to be like “i’m a minority for believing in god but even though people treat me horribly i will keep believing in him” AFTER LITERALLY SAYING THAT DISCRIMINATION WAS ONLY A THING IF IT WAS INSTITUTIONAL was so contradictory and unnecessary.

Another great volume for Platinum End.

Not a lot of action here but the plot progress is very interesting.

Yoneda is now the center of attentions but we get to look into all the remaining candidates.

Mirai and Saki relationship is so precious.

Only 5 candidates are left.

I have always loved comics, and I can, and I have. I love comics to bits; may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love, and I hope you will always love it. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics, Mangas, Mahwas, and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

I give this one 3.5 stars, we are closer and closer to the finale of this story but currently its been nothing but Talk-No-Jutsu, hoping for more action since the Doctor is planing on killing all the candidates, I hope Mirai wins and become the new God but at the same time I want him to be with Saki, but at this point anything is possible!

just because you are smart does not mean you are always right.

After one of the God Candidates was sniped and the final candidate shows himself as one of the smartest men in the world all in a public forum the world is now chiming in with their own thoughts about this contest for divinity. Professor Yoneda has a plan to end this contest and compassion has no place in his cold calculations as it seems the final showdowns are soon upon us. Will one of the candidates become the new god of this world and if they do how will their mortal views affect the world after they gain their new abilities? Sadly for the time being we are not quite there but we know know Yoneda's plan and his new partner is the perfect accomplice to pull the trigger for his plan to work.

In the mean time before the action builds up again here are some flawed humans doing their best for either themselves or the rest of humanity trying to wrap their heads around Professor Yoneda's reasoning in the last volume and pawns responsible for what is to come in the next volume are assembled as the fate for the future of humankind is decided.

Pour cette lecture j'ai clairement été influencée par #bookstagramfrance je l'ai vu partout !
Et je ne regrette pas de mettre lancée. Je l'ai lu d'une seule traite sur une journée 😁
Ce n'est pas un coup de coeur mais j'ai vraiment aimé l'histoire et sa morale. Ça m'a fait pensé à un conte d'apprentissage avec de la magie en prime (il y a même des dragons🐉)
J'ai bien aimé les personnages et les rebondissements même s'il est facile de deviner ce qui va arriver, on ne s'ennuie pas.
C'est un roman pour ados et je trouve qu'il est parfait pour eux ! Vous pouvez le recommander sans crainte, rien de trash ou inadapté 💯

[The Book Dragon]

In the aftermath of Susumu's death, the remaining five god candidates are once again split up with Nakaumi going with Dr. Yoneda and Mirai, Saki, and Yuri returning to their safe house. Now the plan is to figure out a way to convince Dr. Yoneda through logic that his theory on god are...flawed.

Meanwhile, we get to see how Dr. Yoneda ended up as a god candidate and his prep work to set up another discussion meeting with the others which will happen on October 10, 2018 to determine once and for all who (if anyone) will become god. Also, there are some important observations pointed out about Nasse.

This series has 14 volumes.

Summary for reference:

The male detective with Mirai’s group says he knows Yoneda from school. Yoneda was very solitary but they had an interaction so he thinks he might be able to help in the next meeting with Yoneda. Yoneda and Shuji discuss death. We see into Yoneda’s background, which involves him desperately wanting solitude but becoming popular when his research becomes more widely known. He met his angel when he was feeling despair over all the interactions with people he was having that he never wanted to have.

Mirai’s group gives the two detectives the ability to use wings and red arrows and sends them off to try to get high ranking government officials under red arrows. Yoneda discusses the angels – especially Nasse—with Shuji’s angel. Mirai and Saki fly off together to have a heart-to-heart. Yoneda plots to have all of the god candidates die simultaneously so that none of them become god and he performs experiments to test how the white arrows work.

The god candidates all assemble at an arena to discuss things with Yoneda.
