The first books I read from Tracie Podger were very serious mafia and romantic suspense. When I read her book Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits, I saw a very different side of Ms. Podger's writing and I became an immediate fan of her rom/com writing. Cold Nips and Frosty Bits is the continuation of Lizzie's journey of self-discover and her life with her hot Scotsman, Ronan. Most of this story takes place in the Scottish countryside where Ronan was born, which makes me eager to visit Scotland in the near future.
Lizzie can't seem to help getting herself into situations that have the reader laughing out loud. She is the very definition of an accident looking for a place to happen. Lizzie is full of grand ideas to help Ronan make his family estate profitable and self-sustaining. She has just as many wild ideas as to what the estate needs in terms of animals she'd like to see there. However the critters that attach themselves to Lizzie are the bane of poor Ronan's existence, but he'll do anything to keep her happy.
There is a great deal going on in this book and I loved learning more about Ronan's past and his relationship with Maggie and Charlie.
However, it's not all love and roses for the couple as they face hard decisions, betrayal, and issues from both of their pasts. The witty banter in the book often had me chuckling and Ronan's romantic side often had me swooning. I enjoy seeing an author stretch the genres they write in and I cannot wait for the follow-up to Ronan's and Lizzie's journey and more of their HEA and hijinks.

Romantic comedy now has a new classic

What could a llama, a fainting goat, menopause, possible marriage and a caravan all have in common? Lizzie and Ronan must try to make sense of it all!
Lizzie falls in love with a caravan and decides to name it Christine. And in usual fashion for her, all the humor is refreshingly cute! Could Ronan be now hinting at marriage? What does that mean for Lizzie? Is she ready for that commitment?
We get a peek into the wonderful characters from Ronan’s world as he grew up. And we get a glimpse at characters from the previous book as well. The chemistry is still amazing and stayed true to the characters as well. Tracie does an awesome job at making us laugh again!

This story is best read after Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits.

I love how real this is, all the hot flushes and leg crossing, sleep disruption and mood swings. There's no prettying it all up, it's welly boots, gloves, scarves and thick coats all the way. But there is also a strong love and understanding, a melding of two very differentives into a new combined one, complete with an oddity of animals that all have their own quirks. Max, a decidedly unloyal dog, a llama that just loves to escape and investigate where ever it suits her, a goat that is just theatrical from one extreme to the other and a little piglet just following along for company. There are some testing times and some welcome new ventures, funny moments and more serious ones. Throughout it all the reader is entertained and kept enthralled with the love that just flourishes between this couple and those closest to them. I loved reading this and the previous book, I can't wait to read the final part to get all the loose ends tied up with a pretty pink bow on top.

This is the second book following Lizzie and Ronans relationship. From the multi genre author Tracie Podger. The first book Limp D*cks and Saggy T*ts was an amazing and fun read. This book doesn't dissapoint either. It has lots of laugh out loud moments that will have you laughing so hard that you may need to aquire some Tena Lady 😂. It's been a joy to read this book and escape the things happening around the world at the moment. This book will definitely give you a reprieve and lots of laughs.

The next book in the series from the amazing Tracie Podger following on from Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits and as brilliantly hilliarous as the first.

Lizzie and Ronan continue their relationship inbetween their London and Scotland homes, but with the prominence of Scotland being key.

In Scotland Lizzie embarks on a journey with a restored caravan, which adds some additional 'pets' to the equation . Not the average pets you would expect but when did they do anything by halves.

With frequent trips between the homes will Lizzie and Ronan decide finally a decision where to settle without loosing those important key friendships?

A proper laugh out loud hilarious book in parts which keeps you flipping those pages.

I welcomed the return back into Lizzie's life and wondered what twists and turns awaited her in this next chapter of her life.

Lizzie did not disappoint me, she continued to get into all sorts of scraps and had many laugh out loud moments. She proves that there is life after fifty, she is such a fun character and it was heart warming to see her really coming into her own and having moments of self realisation. She come away from this story with a clearer view of not only who she is but what she wants from her relationship. The future is bright for Lizzie and I'm looking forward to reading more about her life in Scotland.

Another laugh out loud Rom-Com that follows on from Limp Dicks. Ronan and Lizzie are funny, addictive, and just all round great characters. For me, the making of this book is colleen the llama. I laughed at her antics and Lizzie's response to her. I look forward to the follow on book to find out the answers to what's going on with Ronnan's brother and extended family.
If you're looking for a book to escape reality then these books will do the job nicely.

recensione "a cura del blog Libri magnetici" by Meghan

Cinque petali.

I am really enjoying this series. As with the first book in the series, I think that the title of this book is unfortunate. Yes, it's funny -- but I'm afraid that it may put off potential readers.

I enjoyed seeing how Lizzie and Ronan's lives unfolded together as they carve out a new path togther in Scotland. There was a lot of humor, and they have such a grown-up relationship. They don't play mind games with each other.

I also liked getting to know the other characters in the book better!

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

I love these stories of Lizzie and Ronan and their crazy lives in a castle in Scotland. I always feel like I am coming back to an old friend with these audios and love the whole mix of characters and their madcap lives especially the new mix of animals Lizzie keeps accidentally adding to their home. I can’t wait for the next book hope I don’t have to wait too long. These are warm and funny and a great listen on a cold winters night

This is the follow on book from Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits and it is just as funny.

This had me laughing out loud and at Lizzie antics, angry at Joe and loving how Ronan is with Lizzie.

We get to see how Lizzie and Ronan relationship further develops and how life is for them spending so much time in their Scotland home.

I have to admit Joe made me so mad in this book. I can’t wait to read the next one to see how how he is in it.

I love the pets Lizzie ends up with over this book and I now want a lama.

Another brilliant book by Tracie Podger.

This novel follows on from Limp Dicks & Saggy Tits. We get to see the continuing journey of Lizzie and Ronan's relationship with the addition of some strange 'pets'! What self-respecting castle in Scotland doesn't have a llama, goat, and pig with rickets free-roaming the grounds? As you might know, Limp Dicks is also in audiobook, Cold Nips will follow with audio, large print, and hardback as well as in ebook and paperback.

Fun and frolics, drama with a llama, fainting goats, a caravan called Christine and much more, but especially the growth and continuing romance between two wonderful characters in Ronan and Lizzie.

This was a fabulous follow up to Limp Dicks, I needed a good laugh and this book absolutely delivered. Lizzie and Ronans relationship is so natural and honest. They are an older couple and author Tracie Podger has kept it real....aching joints, bodily functions that affect us all and poor Lizzie dealing with the menopause (I've learnt a few things about that too and recognise a few of the symptoms I'm starting to get, so I totally sympathise!) However this couple are in love and despite the difficulties life throws at them, are proving they are far from past it!

Lizzie and Maggie's antics made me laugh out, Joe made me cross, Ronan made me swoon and the story, drama and the wonderful description of Scotland kept me turning the pages (and made me want to visit).

If you are after a pick me up, a giggle, an easy stress free read, Cold Nips and Frosty Bits is just the ticket (but read all about Limp Dicks first ;-) )

Hysterical and moving, real and very entertaining!
This is the second installment following Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits. It follows the life of Lizzie Richie and her partner Rowan (who also happens to be a scottish laird) and thier life between his estate in Scotland and her barn in Kent.
I love the reality of the characters. Lizzie is approaching menapause and being mature characters, they have a lot of history and baggage which comes to light. I love the the down to earth relationships and the complexities of life are written so well that I ended up so emotionally invested in the outcome. I found it easy to imagine the scenes as they unfold and often got told off for laughing too loud. I would absolutely love to see this made into somekind of TV series and have already downloaded the third book in the series, the novella Posh Frocks and Peacocks as I simply couldn't get enough of the hilarity.

After we met Lizzie and Ronan in LD & ST, when I heard there was another book in the series, I was ecstatic.

I thought the first book was funny but the author outdid herself with this story.

Introducing new characters, ANIMALS (You will want them all…trust me) and situations, you will once again be in for a treat.

Lighthearted and hilariously refreshing, this is one story you will keep thinking back on and chuckling to yourself.

Highly recommended!

PS. Look out for the conclusion to Lizzie and Ronan’s story in Posh Frocks and Peacocks coming 30 July 2020

This book was just hilarious! I loved it. I've read both books 1 and 2, and I absolutely recommend reading in order. This book references the first quite a bit. You could probably enjoy this one on its own, but would be so much better with reading the other one first. I love how lizzie has embraced the unexpected second half of her life, even though it's probably the total opposite of what she thought her life would be. It's fun and silly and it's nice to read a book now about a 20 something.

This series is awesome. I read the first one last year at the aggressive prompting of a friend, and I adored it. Lizzie is the heroine for all of us! She has stress urinary incontinence, she's over 40, her body is imperfect, and she leaves pilates because she has to fart. It took me longer to warm to Ronan, but I am 100% Team Ronan now! In this book, we see Ronan and Lizzie grow closer and weather some personal issues. It was hilarious as expected, and I truly enjoyed every part of it. I love catching up with the crew in Scotland, Ronan's romantic gestures, and all the hilarious situations Lizzie finds herself in.

The narration is flawless. Perfectly suits this book.

I cannot wait to listen to the novella when it comes out and honestly, I hope the series continues because they are such lovely characters.

I want to say thanks to Tracie Podger for writing another great part of the Ronan and Lizzie saga lol.

In this saga of an episode (like a soap opera these people are in the books lol), Ronan and Lizzie have invested in a caravan called Christine (OMG what a name). Menopause creeping up (what a nightmare as I understand that sister as they say). What can happen when Ronan has wedding on his mind, there are more antics than you can have hot dinners with this crazy lot lol. But if you're looking for a way out of your every day life at the moment and need loads of giggles, YOU HAVE TO READ Limp Dicks & Saggy Tits followed by Cold Nips and Frosty Bits for a hilarious weekend of laughter.

Can't wait to see what other antics these lovely fun people get up to in the next installment.

The story continues and just keeps the laughter going. We have Drama Llamas, Fainting Goats, trips from Scotland to London to buy a plastic tote bag, Hooha happy pills, a stolen fox, paintings and naked artists, a snowed in caravan and a fair bit of farting all woven into the love story that gives us over 50's hope that life isn't quite over yet. This book has made me laugh more than I have in a long time and the characters are so well written I feel as if I know them. If you haven't already go back and Read Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits then come back to this book you are going to love them

Lizzie and Ronan are back, spending more time in Scotland on the estate.
Giggles galore is what happens when you read this book. Following on from Limp dicks and saggy tits, this is a great book to lighten the mood, simple fun, loads of romance,
Lizzie is a great character, nothing can daunt her, she just gets on with it, (like digging the caravan out of the snow) which was my favourite part, I mean, who would go caravaning in the middle of a Scottish winter!!!!
I enjoyed the relationship that Lizzie now has with Maggie and Charlie, she has settled in nicely to her new life in freezing Scotland. Such funny moments with the llama and the goat. This series is great, there are not too many books written about this aged characters and their love lives.
Anyone wanting to read this needs to start with Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits as this is the second in the series

5 stars overall, 5 stars story, 5 stars narration
Hilarious, cozy, and romantic!

This follow-up to my favorite rom-com, “Limp Dicks and Saggy Tits”, more than lives up to the first volume’s amazing standard of excellence. I am so pleased with the continuation of Lizzie and Ronan’s romantic relationship and the hilarious situations in this audiobook, and I can’t wait to listen to the third and final book. I laughed a lot. Ronan’s Scottish parental figures, Maggie and Charlie, are such a hoot! Maggie has so many lines that made me chuckle, and Gerald the goat is priceless. Ronan made some truly romantic gestures that made me so happy for Lizzie. They are so sweet and saucy together. The author has a real gift for hilarious dialogue. I also love the distinct sense of place that the author conveys. I could even visualize and smell the cold wind on Ronan’s Scottish estate.

I totally recommend this series to everyone who loves rom-coms and/or British comedies. The books must be read in order. There is some swearing and some funny jokes about anatomy, but all of the love scenes are fade-to-black. There is minimal angst in this fun story.

The narrator Kitty Kelly delivers a tour-de-force performance with perfect comic timing, an impeccable variety of British accents, and exquisite emotional impact. Her Scottish accents are phenomenal. I really hope Kitty Kelly narrates many more audiobooks in the near future.

I requested and received a free audiocode from the author via Audio Bookfly, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
