HERE COMES THE FUDGE is another fudgelicious cozy mystery from talented writer Nancy Coco. This is the ninth book in one of my all-time favorite cozy series.

Allie McMurphy is one of my favorite protagonists. She owns a beautifully re-modeled hotel and makes the most mouth-watering flavors of fudge. She’s planning her best friend, Jenn’s, wedding when the groom, Shane, is caught in a dark alley with a bloody knife in his hand and a corpse at his feet! Allie and Jenn know Shane isn’t a killer and strive to clear his name as soon as possible. Rex, Allie’s law enforcement boyfriend, tells them to keep their noses out of the investigation.

Rex and Allie’s relationship is wobbly in this story; however, I hope to see them conquer their problems in the next story. The volunteer sleuth recruits at the local senior center are always a pleasure to re-visit, and of course, good friend, Frances, and Mal and Mella, Allie’s precious pets. The murder mystery is solid and entertaining, and the evildoer kind of shocked me, but then I realized it made sense. The author succeeded in throwing me off the track of the true villain. I really felt for Allie at the end. I’m eagerly looking forward to reading book ten!

I honestly reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and Kensington Publishing. All opinions are my own. Thank you.

Picturesque Mackinac Island, Michigan is in full swing this Spring with tourist filling the hotels and shops bringing business to the area. The Historic McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop is being prepped for wedding season by owner Allie for her best friend Jenn's wedding.
When Jenn's fiance, Shane who happens to be a crime scene investigator misses the rehearsal dinner they go searching for him. What they find is a crime scene. Will it be the wedding that never took place?
Well plotted and interesting characters.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Tourist season is just starting on Mackinac Island and the McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop is going to be very busy. Allie’s best friend Jenn is back in town and she has two weddings lined up with the guests filling the hotel. One of those weddings is her own and she has ticked off everything on her to-do list. The one thing not on her list was MURDER and having her fiancé Shane named the police’s prime suspect has really fudged up her plans. Everyone that knows Shane knows he would never kill anyone but he’s not talking and neither is Allie’s tentative boyfriend Rex. They want Jenn and Allie to leave the investigation to them but the entire town knows there is no way that is going to happen.

I was so happy to return to Mackinac Island. It really is an idyllic setting that I have always wanted to visit. For now, I have to settle for Ms. Coco’s delightful descriptions for a virtual vacation.

The characters in this series have really worked their way into my heart. Allie is happy all the renovations are complete and soon the outside will have a fresh coat of paint and guests will be filling all the rooms and tourists will be popping in to buy her fudge. She is also excited about Jenn’s wedding and wants to be sure everything is perfect for her. True best friends, they stick together through thick and thin. Their guys are being pretty shady in this installment but think they have a good reason. Newlyweds Frances and Douglas, they are so cute together. They are truly rocks that Allie can always lean on. They really seem to be unflappable no matter the crisis.

With Jenn’s wedding taking place soon Shane’s family is staying off the island, but her family and Allie’s parents all check in to the McMurphy. I loved that Allie’s mom and dad came for the wedding. They are so supportive of everything Allie is doing with the hotel and fudge shop. Plus they were needed when the scheduled plans went awry. They too remained calm under pressure and allowed Allie the time to do a bit of sleuthing along with her maid of honor duties which are vast when the groom is accused of murder.

Ms. Coco has created such a genuine group of core characters for this series. Truthfully most of the people we meet have good hearts and are willing to help anyone in any way they can. It wouldn’t be a murder mystery without a bad apple or two but she hides them very well until all the clues are mixed together and fall into the right place.

The mystery she has penned in Here Comes the Fudge really tugs on the heartstrings because you want Jenn and Shane’s wedding to go off without a hitch. Allie does turn to a group she knows hears all the gossip on the island to try to get to the bottom of the crime. These ladies are a hoot but they are a fantastic source. The author does an excellent job of twisting things up which means Allie needs more than the seniors can tell her to find the real killer. With plenty of misdirection, I had eliminated the true culprit and was surprised by the very exciting ending.

Romance in this story has an interesting twist too. Allie has a new admirer. . . yup and Rex is not happy.

I can’t forget the fudge recipes. I think I gained 5 pounds just reading them. Peanut Butter and Chocolate Fudge, oh, dear, so easy to make, I am in big trouble.

Here Comes the Fudge is a strong example of a perfect cozy mystery and a Perfect Escape. A strong family element, true friendships, and lovable pets, all brought together with a captivating mystery, plenty of humor, and a smidgen of romance. I loved it!

The next book in this fun series, A Midsummer Night’s Fudge is being released on May 24. I will be reading and reviewing it soon!

You can never go wrong with Fudge! I wish there were more of it in the latest installment in the “A Candy-Coated Mystery” series, Here Comes The Fudge. But even without the hoped-for fudge overload, this was a fun and enjoyable read. Jenn’s wedding and future happiness are at stake as Allie works against time to solve the newest murder on the island.

The characters in this fudge-inspired series are always up to something. Usually, that something involves murder, and this time is no exception. However, when it comes to victims and suspects, this story leads readers on a merry chase. Jenn’s wedding is looming, and the groom is the prime suspect in the murder of a local pharmacist. No matter what anyone says, Allie and Jenn set out to prove Shane innocent, and save Jenn’s wedding. All of the wonderful secondary characters join them in the hunt, and all add some evidence or motive that leads readers on a mystery ride they will love. The location of Mackinac Island is a perfect setting for this story. Not only does it have one of the oldest hotels in the country, but it is also filled with fudge shops (the last time I read a book in this series, I ended up ordering 2lbs of fudge from the island!) no cars, and mostly happy people. A wedding on this island would be a dream for any bride.

The killer isn’t who most readers will think it is, and the victim wasn’t as innocent as most would like. Still, in the end, the motive makes sense and brings the story to a believable and satisfying conclusion. Here Comes The Fudge is the ninth book in this series, and it’s a perfect fit. The characters are well-rounded, readers love spending time with them. Add in Jenn’s wedding, although I would have loved to see it be Allie and Rex’s wedding, and you have a cozy that readers will be happy with and will put a smile on their face. I am always happy to recommend this author, this book, and the entire series to readers.

Here Comes the Fudge is the 9th book in the Candy-Coated Mysteries series.

This was my 2nd in this series. Although it was book nine, I had no difficulties keeping up with characters and events and it worked for me as an individual story. Protagonist and Historic McMurphy Hotel And Fudge Shop owner, Allie McMurphy is a great character who I like immensely. She is smart and focussed though sometimes inclined towards recklessness. The setting on Mackinac Island, Michigan was well described by Nancy CoCo. There was no shortage of engaging chapters so I was thoroughly invested in finding out what would happen next. The great cast of characters, especially Allie's best friend, Jenn who is due to be marrying Shane, helped to zhoosh up this springtime cozy. The author really impressed me with her fluid writing; the details of the plot were very well-executed, and the story was amusing and easy to follow. I was kept guessing until the very end and really enjoyed this intriguing yarn.

There are quite a few instalments to catch up on and I can’t wait to visit Allie and her Bichonpoo, Mal (short for Marshmallow) on Mackinac Island again. If you adore a solid cozy whodunit with lots of yummy fudgy references, don't miss out on Here Comes the Fudge.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Though Mackinac Island has proven to be a hotbed for homicide, the killer has never struck so close to home before. Shane, local crime scene investigator and beloved fiance of Allie's BFF Jenn, is found in an alley standing over a dead body with a bloody knife in his hand. Looks like an open and shut case but Allie and Jenn don't believe that Shane is capable of murder, even though he refuses to speak up about what happened that night.

The life of a peripheral character may have ended but this book was more about beginnings, focusing on Jenn and her upcoming nuptials and those of the couples she works with in her career as a wedding planner. It was kind of fun to see a couple reach the next level and see the McMurphy transformed into a beautiful wedding destination.

I enjoy this series a lot and it makes me really want to go see Mackinac Island for myself (to be a fudgie!) Allie is a fun character and I love reading the fudge recipes even though I would never try to make any of them myself. Her relationships take a turn in this book, though she obviously isn't ready to settle down yet. I think this series is a must read for anyone who enjoys reading culinary cozies!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

Spring is returning to Mackinac island and the historic McMurphy hotel is back to her former glory and rapidly booking up. Allie's best friend Jenn is also back and busy planning two weddings. She thinks her own, in one week, is easily under control so she can concentrate on the Wilkins wedding event of the season. Then Jenn's fiancé Shane, stands her up for a date night and Jenn calls Allie to help find him. When they finally come across Shane, he's standing in an ally holding a bloody knife! Rex and the police arrive and promptly cuff Shane! How dare they treat Shane like a criminal! Rex has to know Shane would never do such a thing. Jenn is devastated when Shane won't talk to her about the case and Rex forbids them from investigating. The ladies from the senior center don't seem to believe Allie can stay out of it, no more can she when someone she loves is involved. She's determined to get Shane off the hook in time for the wedding. There's also her maid of honor duties to handle and Harry Winston, a very friendly and attractive B&B owner who wants to date her. Can she figure out the mystery and see justice done in time for Jenn to have the wedding of her dreams and all without getting hurt?

This story was a disappointment. While the fudge sounded yummy as always, Allie should be careful with her nuts. If I were her, I wouldn't bake fudge with nuts at all. Too risky. The fudge is the best part of the story, aside from Allie's adorable BichonPoo, Mal. While this series normally requires some suspension of disbelief- no a BichonPoo puppy can't sniff out blood or murder victims, this one takes the cake in suspending disbelief. There's also too much wedding preparations and random repetitive details and not enough investigating. There are a total of two suspects and not enough evidence. There is a major mistake or a big clue I picked up on. I'm not sure which and the book could use some editing, especially at the end. Allie states A page or two later she looks around and I didn't notice a lot of typos and errors, just one but I was a little bored with all the wedding stuff and not reading every word. All the suspense in this novel comes at the end but I didn't really care whodunit because we never learn anything about the victim or who the suspects might be.

Allie normally annoys me a lot by being standoffish with her neighbors and peers. She's come around that way but now she annoyed me by being stubborn and pushing back against Rex's warning not to get involved. Yes it's a hallmark of the genre but all the constant whining because no one will talk to her about the case, whining because the police are withholding information and complaining that Shane won't talk got old quickly and didn't make sense. Has Rex ever railroaded anyone before on purpose? Rex is a good guy and he won't let Shane be arrested for a murder he didn't commit. Rex has evidence he isn't sharing with Allie because he's a cop and she's a nosy civilian. I can't say that I wouldn't feel the same way though if I were in Allie's shoes.

I'm also not a huge fan of love triangles and here's a new one cropping up. Allie does make a mature decision about her love life though but based on annoyance when Rex seemingly tries to claim her. I hate macho men acting like animals trying to claim the woman they want. It's uncalled for and doesn't make me want to date either of them. However, if I have to choose, I'm on #TeamHarry. Rex is all cop. He's by the book and Allie is a nosy fudge maker who likes to butt in on his investigations. He also works a ton, has a dangerous job and has been married twice. His ex, Melonie, is back in town and determined to get her claws into Rex again. Harry seems nicer, less intense, and has more in common with Allie.

Liz is nosy too but she's a reporter so she has an excuse. She's quickly become a good friend of Allie and Jenn's and a partner in crime. She should be more careful after what happened last time they investigated together! I like Liz better than Allie though. I relate to her a lot more and appreciate seeing a successful single woman who isn't interested in marriage right now.

Jenn is way too unconcerned about Shane at first. She's confident he didn't kill anyone but the longer the investigation goes on, the more concerned she gets. If I were her, I would be more worried about what he was doing standing me up without a word! He should have let her know where he was and what he was doing or that he was leaving now and oh sorry he got held up and will be there ASAP. At the very least I'd be furious that I wonder why he was delayed? Is he getting cold feet about this crazy Victorian-inspired wedding of Jenn's dreams? I sure would run away screaming. That is SO not my thing! It doesn't seem like laid back nerdy Shane's thing either. Yes he loves Jenn and wants her to be happy but she should also consider his interests and feelings. I'm not sure this is a good match after all.

The murder victim was apparently the boyfriend an old flame of Shane's. He was once engaged to her but she wanted a different life away from the island, much like Allie's mom. She may have also been a gold digger. We never learn much about her and even less about the victim. He was a much-loved pharmacist on the island. It sounds like he was a good guy so who would want to murder him? Drugs perhaps?

The suspects are few. There's Peter Ramfield, a painter who may have a grudge against Shane. Peter has been to jail before. He may have been the last person to see Shawn before the murder. Annie Hawthorne, a contractor, also saw Shawn that evening. He wanted to discuss renovations for the house he and Jenn bought. Could Annie have framed Shawn for a crime of her own making? There's no evidence pointing to either of them but I strongly suspect one over the other.

There is a large cast of secondary characters. The ladies from the senior center have the utmost faith in Allie. They had a taste of crime solving and now they want to get involved again. They do seem to have more information than even the police. We meet Jenn's parents for the first time. They seem nice but something may be going on behind closed doors that's none of Allie's business nor should she EVER mention it to Jenn! Allie's dad is cool. He's a passionate architect and seems to love the McMurphy but Allie's mom is the complete opposite. She's condescending and critical of everything that isn't new and expensive (including men) but she does love her daughter and seems proud of Allie's investigative abilities. Terra Reeves, the caterer, seems nice and very talented. She and Allie should have a good working relationship in the future but for now, I wouldn't be too thrilled with Ally for all her last-minute orders! Mike Hangleford is a painter and Peter's boss. He seems nice and is willing to help out the police and firemen by buying two tickets to the ball when Allie asks so I guess he's a good guy. He's done a wonderful job repainting the hotel and painting Harry's B&B.

If you haven't read other books in the series, don't start here. If you're a fan of the series, you can skip this one unless you're really devoted to Jenn and Shane. It missed the mark for me and not even adorable Mal could save it.

As soon as I picked up this book, I knew I wouldn't be able to put it down.
Allie McMurphy is getting ready for her best friend's wedding, and Allie won't let anything stop her friend's beautiful day. Between dress fittings and making wedding favors, Allie is still making fudge for her family hotel. In the blink of an eye everything turns upside down when the potential groom is suspected of murder. Allie knows Shane would never hurt anyone, but the evidence is piling up and Allie is running out of time to solve the investigation.

This book is so good, you won't want it to end. The characters are so real, and I connect with so many of them, that reading a book in this series is like being with old friends.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Allie McMurphy is happy the renovations are finished on the McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Her best friend, Jenn is getting married in two weeks and Allie is the maid of honor. When Shane, Jenn’s fiancé misses his dinner date with Jenn and fails to text or call, she becomes worried. Allie, Jenn, and Allie’s bichenpoo, Mal head out to look for him. They find Shane in an alley with a bloody knife in his hand standing over an obviously deceased gentleman. Shane refuses to tell Jenn or Allie any information, and neither will Rex. If there is going to be a wedding, it looks like it is up to Allie to prove Shane’s innocence. Here Comes the Fudge by Nancy Coco is the 9th A Candy-Coated Mystery. It can be read as a standalone if you are new to the series. Allie McMurphy is hotel owner and fudge maker extraordinaire. Allie makes fudge fresh every morning and the descriptions will have your mouth watering. Allie along with the secondary characters are developed and realistic. The story is well-written, and it moved along at a steady pace. In addition to the mystery, there is wedding planning, fudge making, taking care of the hotel, spending time with friends and her furbabies. Rex and Allie’s relationship is currently at a standstill. Harry Winston is in town and Allie spends some time getting to know the handsome bachelor. I love the beautiful word imagery of Mackinac Island. I felt transported to the island and could smell the yummy fudge. The mystery was well thought out. There is misdirection to keep you off the path of the guilty party. I identified the guilty party early on, but I was curious as to why. I think many people, though, will be surprised by the killer’s identity. I like how Allie employed the residents of the senior center to help her with the investigation. I was frustrated with Shane and Rex. Both men should know by now that they cannot keep Allie from investigating or Jenn helping her. Here Comes the Fudge is an enjoyable cozy mystery. I love visiting Mackinac Island and I am eager to return in A Midsummer’s Night Fudge next May. Here Comes the Fudge is a fudgetastic tale with a body locator bichenpoo, a frustrating fiancé, prenuptial plans, fantastic fudge, sleuthing seniors, and a confusing case.

Here Comes The Fudge is the ninth book in the Candy-Coated Mysteries series by Nancy Coco.

Spring is coming to Mackinac Island, and soon the visitors will be arriving. Allie McMurphy couldn’t be happier; the renovations at the McMurphy Hotel have been completed, and she is looking forward to using the roof-top dining area.

Allie’s best friend, Jenn’s, who runs an event planning business from the hotel, marriage to Shane, a Crime Scene Investigator, is just around the corner. They are busy putting the final touches together for the event. Days away from the wedding, Allie gets a frantic phone call from Jenn telling her that Shane has failed to show up for dinner as planned, and he doesn’t answer his cell phone or texts. Jenn and Allie meet up to search for Shane. As they enter an alley, they find Shane standing over a body and holding a bloody knife. Shane asks them to call 911. There is also an injured young lady seated and leaning against a building. Shane refuses to tell Jenn why he never made it to their dinner date or why he was in the alley. Once the police arrive, Rex, the chief of police, takes Shane into custody as the prime suspect, as he is also not willing to say why he was in the alley or why he was holding the murder weapon.

Allie and Jenn have their work cut out for them, with Shane unwilling to share any information and the young lady in the hospital unable to remember anything that happened in the alley. They will soon learn that the victim is Christopher Harris, a local pharmacist, and everyone they talk to believes that he was well-liked and had no known enemies.

Allie and Jenn have to start their sleuthing by learning about Shane’s and Christopher’s activities that day. They will begin to wonder about Shane’s innocence when Allie discovered that the girl in the alley used to be his girlfriend. Hopefully, the murderer will be in custody before the wedding.

This book is a wonderful addition to this informative series. This story is well-written and plotted. There were enough red herrings in the story that I was kept guessing until the end as to who the killer was. I love the characters in the series. They are developed and believable.

There are recipes included throughout the book.

I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

Review:

The characters are well developed and well crafted. They are all getting ready for Jenn’s wedding, Allie’s best friend. But someone is stabbed to death and Jenn’s fiance is found standing over the dead body, with a bloody knife in his hand. Now Allie and her friends have to figure out who the real killer is or else there may not be a wedding.

The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions pulled me into the story from the very beginning. The writing style flows smoothly and the book was an easy read. The mystery was well plotted and there were plenty of clues to sift through and plenty of suspects to consider. I really had no idea who the killer was until it was revealed at the end.

I would recommend this book (and series) to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy. I really enjoyed spending time with Allie and her friends.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher, Kensington Books, and NetGalley, which I greatly appreciate.

I really enjoy this series. The setting of Mackinac Island has always appealed to me. The inn and fudge shop remind me of my hospitality days and it's been a delight to read of the changes she is making to the family business to make it her own. The mystery in this one was more pressing than in the past and had a real time crunch which added to the intensity of the book. I thought it was all put together well and there weren't too many superfluous conversations about not investigating/staying out of the way. . Looking forward to the next one.

I received a copy from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another excellent chapter in the life of Allie McMurphy and her friends, this time they are pretty much done with the renovations (painting the exterior is finally happening), just in time for the start of the summer season on Mackinac Island. To add to the fun and games Allie's best friend Jenn is back living on the island, Jenn and Shane will be tying the knot in a couple of weeks and so last minute tasks for that are being undertaken as well.

But then Allie's murder magnet kicks into gear and she, Jenn (and Mal the pup) find Shane standing over a dead body holding a knife! Now with Shane not telling Allie or Jenn anything they need to find out who would kill a well liked local, if Jenn isn't going to be marrying someone wearing a prison jumpsuit rather than a tuxedo!

Review:

Springtime on Mackinac Island means it’s time for the tourist season to begin. Allie has finished renovations on the McMurphy Hotel and the painters are finishing the outside of the building. Best of all, Jenn’s wedding will be held this week.
The wedding plans are in jeopardy when Shane, Jenn’s fiance, is found standing over a body while holding a bloody knife. While no one believes that Shane could actually kill anyone he finds himself the only suspect. Allie begins another search for a criminal so that Jenn’s dream wedding will go on.

This is the ninth book in the Candy-Coated Mystery series. I enjoy this series for many reasons. The characters are interesting and well-developed. I love the setting. I have spent a lot of time on Mackinac Island and the author does a wonderful job describing the setting. Like the previous books in this series, this one has an engaging plot. I recommend this book and look forward to the next book in the series.

Weddings and murder don't mix and when Allie finds a body it could ruin best friend Jenn's wedding. However, with the help of friends and the ladies at the senior center Allie is digging up clues to help solve the murder hopefully in time so that Jenn can have the perfect wedding.

This story combines a great setting (Mackinac Island) with strong characters and a great plot. Thanks to Kensington and NetGalley for an advanced copy. The opinions expressed are my own.

This excellent mystery features Allie, the fudge-making owner of the McMurphy Hotel on Mackinac Island. As she is helping her friend Jenn get ready for her wedding, she discovers Jenn's fiancé Shane in a dark alley holding a bloody knife, standing over a dead body. There is an injured woman nearby, who is determined to be his old girlfriend. There is a lot going on and much danger for Allie and Jenn, but they eventually solve the crime.

As always it was good story that moved at a fast pace. The first chapter was hard to follow because there is an ebook between the last book and this one. It's not necessary to read the ebook (I didn't as I don't read ebooks at all) but it is a bit confusing at the beginning. I did like the book, but it seems that the farther in the series it gets the stories aren't quite as good as they were at the beginning.

This book makes no sense. It's so repetitive. Shane won't talk. Text warns Allie not to investigate. She does. The wedding is coming. Will Shane be arrested? Over and over. Finally, I started skimming. The killer could have been anyone. There were no connecting clues. The fudge recipes sound overly sweet. I wouldn't make them or the brownies, nor a recipes with canned frosting. But that indicares6the quality of the rest.

Allie's best friend Jenn is getting married to Crime Scene Investigator, Shane. When he's accused of murder it puts the wedding plans in jeopardy. Allie and the crew at the Historic McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop are planning for a wedding and wind up solving a murder mystery!

I loved everything about this book - the mystery, characters (old and new) and the wedding planning. The author combines murder and character backstories so well that one never overshadows the other. A perfect balance. I always love the descriptions of Mackinac Island, the hotel and the fudge making process. They made me wish there was an actual McMurphy Hotel to visit - with no murders!

Allie is a relatable character who you root for - in sleuthing and love. She's kind, outspoken, stubborn and a perfect cozy heroine! The supporting characters enhance the story and it was fun to meet Allie's, Jenn's and Shane's parents.

A wonderful addition to the series!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

A Goodreads Giveaway Amazon Kindle free book I won! This was such a cute book! Loved the murder mystery part of it. I missed some in the first eight books but Nancy Coco catches you up pretty well! I bet I would enjoy the first eight, easily! Shane & Jenn are good! I like Frances & Douglas! Every character is good! Especially Allie and Rex!

Allie McMurphy just can't stay out of trouble. Allie and her friend Jenn discover Jenn's fiance Shane in an alley standing over a bloody body with a knife in his hand. Questioning the folks on Mackinac Island and hunting for clues keeps Allie very busy. Of course Shane isn't a murderer! So whodunit? I loved this storyline tied to Jenn and Shane's wedding. This is a fun cozy mystery!

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Love of friends.

I enjoyed this story and hanging out with these good friends, on an island no less. Allie has her hands full with making fudge and running a hotel. She still has time for her best friend and to help her in so many ways. I love that. This story is wonderful just like the folks in it. I can’t wait to see what happens next. There are some yummy recipes included too. I won this book in a Goodreads’s contest, but my opinion is my own. Now to go make some fudge.

Here Comes The Fudge is a 5 Star cozy mystery that has lots of twists and turns that shows Nancy Coco’s talent. Plus there are several delicious fudge recipes you will want to try. Will this be a mystery that you can solve immediately or will it trick you in the end? This is definitely a must read! I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my review and honest opinion.

Allie never foresaw part of her maid of honor duties for her best friend would be to clear the groom from murder charges. Shane is found my his bride,Jenn, to be and Allie standing over a dead body and another victim. The mystery is well-crafted with plenty of twists and turns. The characters are likable and smart. I recommend this book to cozy mystery fans.
