The Israel Factor: Factoring Back In What God Never Factored Out

Rate this book
Demonstrating God’s faithfulness in Messiah “to the Jew first” is not understood, let alone the norm for most believers in Yeshua. In fact, in many otherwise biblically sound churches, Israel and the Jewish people have been “factored out” of the equation in the teaching of Scripture. Though many of these believers may be pro-Israel, they may not view the Jewish people as significant in God’s plan today. Therefore, they do not make it a priority to share the Good News with Jewish people in a Jewish frame of reference. They do not disciple new Jewish believers to maintain their present-tense Jewish identity, nor do they disciple new Gentile believers to reach out to the Jew first. Today we are at a time in history that people one hundred years ago could never have dreamed of seeing. At this very moment, a great work of God is happening amongst the Jewish people. Not only are Jewish people coming to faith, but they are also embracing their identity as Jewish believers in Messiah, living as a recognized testimony of God’s faithfulness to Israel and the nations. This is the testimony that was proclaimed by the apostles, but one that has not been biblically taught since the first century. In this book, we will consider the matters of the Torah (that is, the first five books of Moses), and the Tanakh in general, for a confusion on the matter of Israel often leads to confusion concerning the whole Tanakh. This confusion of the Israel factor leads to a misunderstanding of the New Covenant and a misunderstanding of the entire Word of God.Though there is much to say about each of the ten major biblical doctrines (i.e., teachings) that we will be touching on in this book, our emphasis will be on how each of the biblical teachings is impacted by the Israel factor. You may ask, Is this necessary? That question is simply answered by noting that every major doctrine professed by the believing (Evangelical44) community was developed from Scripture while Israel (i.e., the Jewish people) was rejected as irrelevant by those who developed the doctrines! Therefore, with each chapter, we will be addressing the following How will our understanding of this area of teaching be impacted when we factor Israel back into the equation? What difference does this make for our lives?
