But when her prisoner turns out to be more than she ever expected, she finds herself torn between the tall, muscular shifter leader and her devotion to her job.Faced with the ultimate challenge, will Millie let Hayden steal her heart before she succumbs to all of her mistakes?*This book is a stand-alone in the series but for the best experience, read the previous books in the series*
2/5**. What would you do if your fated mate turned out to be a cruel scientist with few morals and ethics? If you want to know, read this book. Otherwise, my recommendation would be to skip this and go to the next one in the series.
This was my least favourite book in the Dark Warrior Alliance (DWA) paranormal romance series because of all the absolutely hateful things that happen in this story (it should not even be classified as a romance).
The complete series has a great Good vs Evil storyline with the paranormal members of the DW Alliance fighting to protect themselves as well as humankind from demons and other nefarious creatures. The series has lots of action, intrigue and romance with well developed characters. Each book follows a new couple who discover that they are fated mates at some point in the story.
Spoilers ahead… be warned.
Hayden, a powerful shifter Omega, defies common sense as well as his goddess’s edicts of keeping the existence of supernaturals secret, by telling high level human leaders that he is one of many shifters and supernaturals who secretly protect their world. His declaration has put all his friends and every supernatural in existence at risk not to mention himself as a target.
Millie, a glory seeking scientist with extremely low morals or ethics, promptly entraps and captures Hayden using a powerful incapacitating drug and begins to starve and physically torture him. Following days of abusing Hayden with tasers and electrical shocks while he is being sedated, Millie begins to perform experiments on him. She cuts open his chest and slices into his heart several times. Seeing that Hayden seems attracted to her, she coos to him that all the torture will end if he just shifts into an animal. At no time while in captivity does Hayden ever shift. Essentially, Millie is starving and mutilating a human male as if he were a lab rat without any proof that he is anything more.
This was beyond sickening to read and in not the least bit romantic. Throughout the torture, Hayden still manages to get aroused whenever the scientist touches him. Stockholm syndrome maybe?
So, following the series format about this being a story about fated mates, we are led to believe that Hayden and Millie are a destined couple. Millie belatedly realizes that maybe she has gone too far and helps Hayden escape. He hates her but wants to f…k her because he thinks she’s his mate. Millie, is almost panting and licking her lips in excitement to finally see his inner animal. Gross. They get together because of his hormonal instincts but it’s incredibly hard to believe that he would forgive her so quickly after what he has been through.
While Hayden has been missing, his friends and members of the DWA team have been searching for him and putting their lives at great risk. Following his escape, the team has to return to the heavily guarded compound where Hayden had been held to try to destroy all evidence and medical records obtained during his captivity. Pretty much everything goes wrong and Zander, the Vampire King is severely injured. They escape after setting off some explosions but there are many loose ends and Millie’s boss has disappeared with medical and video evidence. The story abruptly ends with Hayden and Millie’s mating ceremony.

Finally we have Hayden's story! I have been waiting for his story for such a long time and it didn't disappoint. For so long Hayden has wanted to bring the knowledge of the paranormal world to humans believing that this will give them the edge they need in the fight against Lucifer. Until he wakes up and realises he has walked straight into a trap and he been imprisoned by a group of humans that know about supernaturals. Held against his will and experimented upon, by Millie, who lured him into the trap, he comes to realise that the rest of the DWA were right all along and the world was not ready for the knowledge that supernaturals live among them. Millie is a scientist who has always been told by her mother that she is meant for great things and she believes that the route to that is by working with the government using supernatural DNA to create better soldier and cure many diseases. The chemistry between both Hayden and Millie is there from the very beginning and continues throughout the story. It was a great addition to the DWA world, my only reason for only giving it 4 stars was Millie. I just felt like she could have been a bit more assertive in the beginning and was unsure of her compatibility with Hayden until much later in the story. I would recommend this to everyone who loves fated mates, enemies to lovers and the DWA. Cannot wait for the next one!

The world of the Dark Warriors is amazing. I have been waiting a long time for Hayden's story. In the last few books, he has kinda been off his game. I was staring to get worried he wouldn't find her. In truth, she actually found him. Well, she captured him anyway. Millie is a scientist. She believes in the work she is doing. Her parents had always told her she was meant for something big. However, her time with Hayden has her questioning the people she works for. She is beginning to see him as a man and not a 'test subject'. Her career is on the line, but so is Hayden's life. Hayden knows deep down that Millie is his mate. Getting past the things she has done to him won't is a different story. They must work together, along with the other Warriors, to stop the supernatural world from exposure. They will also have to move beyond the past for them to have a chance at a future together. Meanwhile, in Khoth, Blaine is looking into Troy's death at the hands of Donovan. Something doesn't sit well with him about the whole thing. We get just a glimpse of where his investigation will lead. This was once again a wonderful addition to the series. Each and every character brings so much to the story. I loved it! Patiently, well probably not, I look forward for more to come. I received an early copy and this is my honest opinion.
Fabulous! Hayden and Millie are are a perfect hate to love relationship! Every shifters nightmare a scientist who wants to dissect them to "understand them." Hayden holds fast and doesn't reveal anything to her or her fellow scientist. Millie's boss Jack is brutal and forces her to do things she isn't comfortable with and finally opens her eyes to how wrong things are. She helps him escape and that is when he discovers she is his fated mate. They try to get back on the compound to take back the sample she collected but they are unable to succeed. They get mated and she is immersed into the paranormal world that Hayden belongs to. Millie and her parents take to it like fish to water. Looking forward to the next book! I didn't realize I'd already read a few of these books.... will have to go back and start at book one and roam my way through Zeum, Koth and Tehrex.

I think I need to read the rest of this series. An enjoyable Sunday afternoon read and exciting, gripping and full of emotion This is Hayden's story, the Omega. He is held captive and experimented on against his will. It is not a nice situation. The woman Doctor Millie, is in an awkward situation. He was drugged to get there and she feels remorse. There is an attraction and when physical contact is made he knows she is his, despite his current predicament. There are a range of bad guys that each has to deal with and much happens before both can truly enjoy their HEA. You know also that the series has yet to finish. There is much to do with these inter connected beings. I now need to read the rest.
Overall, this was an OK read. Even though this book was said could be read as a standalone in a series of 25 books, it probably would have helped somewhat through the read. When Hayden, the Omega of the Dark Warrior Alliance, is drugged, captured, and experimented on. The person the captured him is the doctor who captured and is holding him! Millie feels the connection to Hayden as well and regrets the whole situation. There was a side story I knew very little about, but if I'm looking at the main story, the chemistry between Hayden and Millie was intense, the book was action packed with some twists and turns. A Good Read

I'm only rating this so low for a few reasons. I don't like Hayden! Never have, probably never will. I'm not exactly thrilled with his mate either. I mean any fated mate that could cut into her mate really shouldn't be your mate. I don't care if he forgave her or that she was being forced to do it. It's not like her boss was holding a gun to her head! Yeah, I get that her boss was a jerk. And sure he probably would have hurt Hayden worse, but I think Hayden could have taken it. I believe he should have for outing supernaturals. Plus he put a lot of their lives at risk to try sneaking back into the base. They should have just shot rocket launchers or grenades at the building.
The story of Hayden and Millie is one of the best. Brenda Trim is a fantastic writer and can give you a good story with her eyes closed. Even tho this was book 24 Trim managed to give you new insights to the supernatural world. I have read every one of the Dark Warriors Alliance books. I keep saying this one was the best. But guess what they are all fantastic. If you like vampires, shifters, witches and all the other creatures you'll love Brenda Trim's books. Thank you for your stories.
I have waited for this book! I am so happy that Hayden finally gets his girl or maybe Millie got her man! Omega is a hit within the Dark Warriors series! You want to get this series if you have not partaken in it! Every book within the series flows fantastically and has characters that you will fall in love with. Miss Trim is a phenomenal writer and exceptional story teller!. She delivers visually stunning stories and characters who have depth and characteristics which you will fall in love with!

Once again we are taken into thr enchanting world of the supernatural. Hayden is the Omega strongest of shifters and the one who keeps the packs in order. Millie is a scientist who believes that sometimes you have to whatever you need to do to make a difference. I hope readers appreciate the characters and the interactions that make me heartily recommend this book. How can this scientist who captured him and is experimenting on him be his fated mate? Anything is possible where love is concerned.
This is the first book that I've read by Brenda Trim, and since it is book 24 in a series, it took me a little while to get a feel for what was going on in the Dark Warriors Alliance world. I was intrigued by Millie and her internal struggles as she went from captor to savior - torn between her need to make her parents proud and her overwhelming attraction to Hayden. There's plenty of action and suspense, and I enjoyed the peripheral characters. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series, starting with #1.
I absolutely love this series , I have read all the dark warrior alliance books and enjoyed them all . There are 2 storylines in this book that don’t crossover but I am certain this will happen in subsequent books. It was good to read about the shifter side of the alliance, and it had a different twist to other shifter books where the omega is portrayed as a female or weaker male . In this book he is the leader and very much an alpha male . Can’t wait for the next book .

I've only read a few in this series but found it easy to get into this book. Hayden is an omega who finds himself captured by his mate, Dr Millie Seijo, is committed to her work on supernatural beings. Well written as both battle with trust and their attraction to each other. Will Dr Millie give up her life long dream for a chance at love. Great read - I really felt Hayden's and Millie's pain.

This book is amazing, it took you to a different place , different aspect in the series, mixing the human world with the Omega and the supernatural in a more personal level The author, Brenda Trim made it personal, put you in the center of the story line, feeling inside what was being said, what was behind it that made it even more emotional I truly enjoyed this chapter of the series, Thank you Brenda from the most sacred part of my heart for my book, God Bless
Surprising “Omega” is my first book in the “Dark Warrior Alliance” series and it is intriguing and exciting. This is Hayden & Millie’s story, and I am surprised that I enjoyed it so much that I will be continuing on in this series. I felt really invested in the outcome of the action and could not put it down. I highly recommend this series but suggest you begin at the beginning. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review
This is one of my favorite series of all time. Hayden's book is filled with so many ups and downs. You go from happy to sad, from disgust to lust. I love her writing. She keeps you reading never knowing for sure whats next. I can't say much more without giving too much away. You definitely need to read this. I can't wait for the next book. I only hope its coming soon.
Millie is a genetics scientist searching for a way to grow active duty military members faster and stronger. Millie also wants to find cures to maladies such as cancer, ALS, and other diseases. Millie targets the Omega of all shifters. As Millie comes to know Hayden, she realizes that he is not an animal but very much like a human. Hayden knows Millie is his Fated Mate even though she is torturing him. This story is full of romance, steam, and ends in a HEA. Highly recommended.
Love this series! I read Book 1 because I didn’t find any new books available with the authors I normally read. I had never heard about this series but once I started reading I kept on going from Book 1 on. I was hooked! I just finished reading this Omega book and can’t wait to read more of them. It grabs you from the beginning and you just have to keep reading to find out what happens next! I love the characters in this series.
I love d this series but lately there are too many story lines and too many things just left hanging too follow the plots. If they would just finish one up before starting a new one I would love then stories again. My other problem is these fated mates are just bi@#!es that everyone just loves. Then Hayden going against the goddess edicts with no consequences is just crap. I just don't know if the series is worth it anymore.
I enjoyed reading this book 📚, it has a good storyline. The interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful, this book is entertaining and filled with action, adventure and intrigue. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Book twenty-four in the Dark Warrior Alliance series a well written story with a very good storyline. Omega Hayden Jesaray and scientist Dr. Millie Seijo's story of enemies to mates. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains, twists, turns, and romance. What a story, it was well worth reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A really good read, I must admit that I have not read previous books in the series but this one has me hooked. I will now have to add the previous books to my "to read list". The characters are great as is the story. A story of supernatural god like characters in modern times. Throw in Vampires, mages and shapeshifters and the evil guy and you have a page turner. Highly recommended
I swear every book I read is like watching an action movie. I get so vested in them and can't wait to see who is next or what is next. I was so mad at Millie, and even when she showed her regret I just couldn't get pass what she did to Hayden. My heart was in my throat every time he was tortured.
Omega: Dark Warrior Alliance Book 24 by Brenda Trim. Omega Hayden knew the human scientist Milly was his fated mate even though she had him captured and experimented on. When Milly organised his escape he couldn’t really hate her. Would Milly consent to be his mate. It was a lot for a human to understand.
I really enjoyed Hayden & Millie’s story. Hayden is another fav of mine. Hayden & Millie definitely didn’t start out great but love conquers all. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait too read more.
