I'm pretty sure the Heights Crew will always be my favorite EM Moore series- and so I'm so thankful for this gift that is pretty much just out of love for the fans of the series.

Yes, most of this content was in newsletters or in the group, but my scattered brain appreciates the chance to have it all in once place. The pre-series content I find to be the most impactful, it really helps us understand our guys, and while I'd like to have had this window into them during the series, it obviously wasn't the narrative approach we have to that story. We aren't supposed to "get" them right away, but its nice to go back and live through their eyes.

I do wish there has been a bit more intentionality in some of the "their pov" scenes that we've read already, but I know that these were often chosen or suggested by fans in her group as one-off wishes, long before these alternate POVs were conceptualized as bonus book. It could have been awesome to have a central thread or more overarching approach to give the bonus content a bit more synergy, but that being said, I still loved it. And, we have a good range of emotion and fun and danger- just like the series itself.

Obviously this is not a standalone and is meant to be read at the end of the entire series- it is meant for fans, so if you love this series, you'll love this, and if you don't or haven't started- this is not gonna be for you. If you've not read this series- check it out, then you'll be as hungry as I was to walk down memory lane and jump back into the minds of the Heights Crew cast.

The before the series POVs where interesting and gave us insight into the guy characters, but ugh so sad. We all know their past...
The alternate POV for scenes in the series were not scenes I would have picked. Some were interesting most.... meh. I would have asked for other scenes. If you haven't read The Heights Crew don't read this yet. If you did -- unless you're begging for more, then you could probably skip this one.

I’m serious when I say this entire book could have been Johnny’s POV and I would have loved it. He is seriously my favorite out of the four and his backstory is the most interesting to me. Besides that, I don’t love the rest of the guys as much as I love Johnny 🚀.. I am a sucker for character development and I’m so happy with how much he changed from Book 1-Book 4. I actually think it’s so interesting to see that he slept with that girl from the shop because he was fascinated by Kyla and needed a distraction and pretending that he was 🥵😮‍💨 with Kyla … that seriously started everything…

Magnum (Jacob) — It’s so sad to see that his mom gave up on him and didn’t want to attempt to get better until he graduated.. in a way, the crew gave him Johnny & I’m kind of happy that they are the closest.

Oscar — He deserves so much better but he is so loyal to his mom and that is really admirable. He preferred to join the crew to support his mom rather than stay with his grandparents and leave his mom on the streets so that says a lot about his character. Also, he kept mentioning Reid and that made me miss Spring Hill 💯 + he kept making small mentions about one person in Spring Hill that he had a soft spot for and that’s 100% Briar.. somehow I wish that she would have made a random appearance in the Heights to see how he would have reacted but they got closure when they said goodbye in that duet.

Brawler — This broke my heart. His siblings didn’t deserve that ending and it’s crazy how much life can change in an instant. He never wanted to be apart of the crew so it’s still upsetting that he joined to be near Kyla even though he hated what it represented. His sister deserved the world and she didn’t even get to leave for college like she wanted to & take her test 📕 seriously such a sad ending for both of them. Especially his mom who never recovered from that.

Overall, it was interesting to get them back and see some of the scenes in their POVs (the mirror one was so adorable, I cant believe he thought she wouldn’t see the message) For now, it’s the end of the crew 3 I’m going to miss these characters even though I’m obviously biased and love Johnny. ✔️

I loved being back in The heights world! I have missed this lot like they are my own family.
My heart goes out to the boys even more than before, Erin has done an amazing job with the feeling gone into their lives before Kyla and they really pulled on my heart strings.

Magnum, my boo, my love. I loved hearing more from him as he was such a mysterious character in the books. Finding out about his life before was just everything to me, from his crumbling relationship with his mum to his relationship with Cole and Manning, to his POVs from when he was with Kyla. Everything about him had me hooked and I couldn't have been happier.

Brawler, oh sweet, cuddly Brawler. His story broke me! The things this guy went through, I don't know how he has come so far from it and turned into the wonderfully humble guy he is today. The bathroom mirror scene in his POV is my favourite and was beautifully written.

Oscar, he would do anything for anyone and my heart goes to him. The deal life has thrown at him is a horrible one and you can't blame him at all for how he is now. Getting into the crew was honestly the best thing he could've done and that's saying something, his mum needs a good smack upside the head thats for sure!

Johnny, you silly sausage. Im honestly so glad he met Kyla as he has matured and grown so much since before he met her. He was a complete manwhore and even though we know why and that his dad is the reason for this, he's so silly! His POVs where amazing and you could see the change in him as time went on, which I am so glad about!

Well done Erin! you have done amazing with this!

If you're like me and you just can't let it go, then this is the perfect thing for your Heights fix! I adored these POVs from our Heights boys, Johnny Rocket, Brawler, Magnum & Oscar 🥰

Johnny's pre-crew story showed his inner beauty and vulnerability, his sad side that showed us all he wanted in life, and how simple it should have been to have, but that's not how life works in the crew. But, it also showed us more of the side we all love, his dirty and mischievous side. And don't get me started on the infamous blowing up the science lab fiasco. I'm so happy this was included because I was dying to find out what went on there, and god it was funny!

Magnums pre-crew story was equally distressing, it showed all the sides to him that he kept hidden for more or less three out of the four books in the heights saga. His family home, Cole, his initiation, all elements that turned Jacob Cotton into Magnum. Our beautiful brooding man!

Brawlers story made me have a legit breakdown. Why did his have to be so heart wrenching and vivd?! My baby boy Brawler 😭 you wouldn't even recognise him by appearance but you can spot his underlying beautiful soul from a mile away. Even though he saw the most hideous thing happen, his heart remains pure 🥰

I knew Oscar's was going to be hard hitting because we saw so much sadness to his current life in the heights saga, which was a continuation of his pre-crew story. Although I'm so glad we got to see parts that I know would have brought him joy (he is a bat kinda guy 🤷🏼‍♀️) and I just adore him so much!

We also get POVs from some of my favourite parts, the bathroom mirror scene, (SWOON! This was the part that made me fall in love with Brawler) the Johnny Rocket clothing store "incident" 🤦🏼‍♀️😂, the private room fiasco with Brawler and Oscar 👀 and the Magnum taking one for the team scene 🥵🔥

This is the perfect addition to the Heights world!

I've loved the Heights Crew series ever since I read them last year and always wondered where they ended up. To be honest I kind of expected that the author would write something with regards to that and not the incidents of what happened in the past.

I felt this book wasn't all that fun to read. I mean sure..I enjoyed the stories about how each of the guys ended up in the crew. Their initiations, their previous lives, their previous personalities etc.

Brawler's past story was the saddest to read..how he lost two siblings in a matter of few seconds. And the fact that he just missed being one of the victims just because he was pissed with his brother..damn to think that there was an actual chance of Brawler not existing! Shivers!!

Johnny's story was the least interesting to read. It just showed what we already knew about him with regards to his abusive and asshole dad. But I just have a huge question with regards to his step sister. What happened to her? I remember that Big Daddy K killed his mom but did he kill the entire family? I don't remember that part of the story from the series..

I'll always sympathise with Oscar. He was one of the very few who actually left and made something of his life outside the crew but he got roped in only because of his mom. It felt annoying to read how she got pissed at him for joining the crew! Ugh..if she didn't fail to step up, he wouldn't have to deal with being the adult in the first place.

Other than their past stories about how the guys ended up in the crew, the remaining book seemed pointless. Like Magnum's POV during both the "Fuck Her" and the "scene where he's pretending to be Jiko" brought nothing new to the story. It was literally reading the same thing we read in the Heights crew series but from his POV and nothing was new even from his POV. It was just him reacting to everything said or done. Even the POV from Oscar was nothing new.

The only POVs that mattered were when Johnny had sex with the saleswoman..it showed that he did have feelings for Kyla before he made the mistake..and finding that Brawler went into the ring because he heard another guy badmouth Kyla right after her first fight and the "writing on the mirror scene" were *awwww* inspiring!

On the whole I feel this book would have mattered more to me if I had read it soon after reading the Heights Crew series. I guess at that time I wanted to read anything to do with Kyla and the guys. Now, I just want something new.

I didn't know there would be another book in this series, and was super-happy when I discovered it. I could hardly wait to start it. The expectations were high. Soo high!

Too high, apparently. While reading the book, I couldn't help but think: "As is often the case with successful series, an author cannot leave a successful project before trying once more to squeeze the last out of it."
The history of the boys was nice, it gave a little more insight into their thinking and their actions, but was not really an added value. Some key scenes from their POV were nice, but I read the books last year and could not always remember the details to begin with; and to look up the original scenes (which I would normally do in such a case) I could not bring myself to do so now. I just wasn't intrigued enough to do that! This tells me that the book is missing something, but what that "something" is exactly; I cannot pinpoint, sorry! Which is very strange; usually I know exactly what I'm missing. Now I could only think: "I would have preferred to read this other POV while ploughing through the original storylines."

Conlusion: For me, this book was a missed opportunity, but that doesn't change the fact that I remain a fan of the previous books. If I ever re-read them (you never know) I will definitely put this book next to it and read the scenes that belong together back to back.

I loved being back in the Heights! Some of these I had already read in the Facebook group, while some of these were great new additions.

Reading about Brawler’s past, UGH. My poor baby. I shed a tear for his losses. I wish we got to see a bit of the aftermath, especially including how Johnny and Magnum felt about his loss right after.

Seeing Johnny is a mixed bag, because we get to see his internal thoughts and the thing with his mom is absolutely devastating, but he’s also such a playboy lol. I don’t love to see him with other girls from his own POV, but with the exception of the store girl, they were all before Kyla.

Oscar’s story.... he deserves the world 😭 poor bby. I’m so glad he met Kyla and she helped him.

Magnum was what I expected, and I loved seeing a younger him.

I would read different POVs for them and new scenes from their lives after the Heights over and over. I’d love to read a novella or something about it!

Amazing

E.M.Moore knows me better than I know myself. I hadn’t realised how much I needed this book until I read it, but getting that extra insight into the boys adds so much depth of character and gives you all the feels.

The first half of the book gives you insight to each of the guys pre-crew and my heart ached for each and every one of those lost, confused, broken boys.

The other half of the book involves significant or cute moments in the book that we have already read from Kayla’s POV, but we not get to read what the guys were thinking in those moments too and they are a mixture of adorable and hilarious.

Now that I’ve read it, there is only one thing left to do...re-read the whole series!

Amazing look into the lives of characters we love

This is a fabulous collection of shorts from the guys POV from the Heights Crew as well as a glimpse of their lives and who they were before crew.
.
I loved seeing the different side to these characters and more about what they dealt with before joining crew. Not gonna lie my heart yet again goes out to Brawler! I’d honestly love a novella or something about Manning and what lead to the shoot out. There’s still so much there I want to see with that and the other guys but this was Awesome and definitely made me want to do another reread of the series!
.
Amazing new content by Moore but still within a series we all love. I cannot wait to get my grubby little hands on a hard copy of this!

I was so excited when this book was released and I was not disappointed! This is an excellent collection of backstories to each of Kyla's boys - part of me wishes I knew this before I read the series because it would have made so many situations so much more sense - but then I loved reading the POV scenes (which have to wait till after the series is finished :p) which reinforced that this is one of the best RH, dark and twisty series out there. The series as a whole earned a really solid 5.5 stars from me and this little edition did too. Ensure you add this to your TBR at the end if you've not already invested in this series, and if you've already imbibed, make sure this is on your TBR as a juicy bonus!

This is a bonus book to the Heights Crew series of four books, and not strictly necessary to read as the four book series is a complete series. The first 62% of this bonus book gives short origin stories for each of the four guys of the harem, basically expanding on things you knew about them from the main series. I find it didn't really add anything for me personally, though I did find Brawler's particularly more moving having it shown vs the told from the series. The remaining 23% (last 5% of the ebook are ads) is individual alternate POV scenes from the original series, several of them the sex scenes and while they are a fun little bonus, they also don't add anything if you want to just stick with the main series only.

Getting a better understanding of the male characters from the Heights Crew series

I didn't realize just how much I missed these characters. Yes, some of these POV were released in her newsletters or reader's group, but I loved having them all in one place. I absolutely love getting multiple perspectives in a book. It helps me get a deeper connection and understanding of a character.

If you haven't read the original HEIGHTS CREW series, go grab book 1, UPPERCUT PRINCESS , on Amazon.

What a wonderful pleasure it was to go back to the Heights and visit my favorite crew! E.M. gives us life before the Heights Crew on each of our guys. And, if that's not enough to lure you in, she gives POVs from the guys during different scenes. Now I just need a "where are they now" type of book. I want to know how their lives are now that they have made it out. Hmm.....maybe one day I'll get so lucky, until then, I'll just have to continue revisiting them in the books we have, including this one.

tw: pedophilia

- how is this better than the actual series axksns
- idk how old johnny was in the first one (i’m assuming he wasn’t 18 yet since he was still in school and he’s around the same age as magnum who wasn’t 18 yet in his pre-crew story) and idc how edgy and “dark” any gang or mafia or whatever related books are supposed to be its 100% not ok to have explicit sex scenes involving minors (ESPECIALLY WHEN THE OTHER PARTY (or parties) IS AN ADULT). you’re an adult. you’re writing child porn, because that’s exactly what it is. it’s disgusting and it needs to stop.

Love the guys even more now!

I’m so happy for this book. I always love the men’s POV in stories so this was a gift. We learn about all the guys backstories in the main books but seeing the things play out is so much better. You feel the heartache they each went through and how it lead them into the crew life. Being able to see their feelings for Kyla and how she helped change them was amazing. Definitely recommend if you enjoyed The Heights series.

My Crew is Back!

I re-read the whole series in anticipation of this books release. I loved learning about Johnny, Oscar, Brawler and Mag before the joined the Crew. These characters are ingrained in me especially after all of the delicious POV's, which are smoking HOT by the way. If you loved the Heights Crew Series, which of course you did. I mean hello, it's f*****g awesome then you must read this...NOW!!!!! Go go go!

The series as a whole was amazing! I loved Kyla and her harem. The storyline was captivating the whole way through, with a plot twist or two. The characters had depth and trauma that could be felt while reading it! It wasn’t a rushed plot, but didn’t feel like it was dragging on either. I also loved the bonus book that had the mens introductions into Crew as well as a few POV’s of scenes from previous books!

Loved it

Loved ut. Loved the stories on how the guys became CREW

But... I was left with a slight disappointment

1. The pov were mainly johnny which I got but we only heard of Oscar once!

2.think we needed pov of the guys and their first sighting he of kyla especially Brawler as he did in book 1 keep an eye of her..

3. Pov of them eat hint her best Cherry, again book 1

And well I want and NEED more !!

Okay it was nice, I appreciated the different perspectives, but seeing as I already know what happens it wasn’t as enticing as the others. The part that I did appreciate was the backstory on the guys before they joined the crew. I loved the series and this was a good way to close it off, but it was just a little boring, not that it’s the authors fault I mean it was the same story it’s just not a necessary read by any means

I love this visit back into the world of the Heights Crew! I always like to find out what is going on in the minds of other characters while particular scenes are going on and this book gives me the opportunity to do that. Certain scenes broke my heart and others make me want to go back and reread the series again! If you loved the Heights Crew, you will definitely love this book.

Loved the boys POV

Wished these had made it into the books! It makes you understand the guy’s perspectives so much more in many ways. Plus I loved the backstories it truly helps to see were each of the guys went through to make the decision to “Crew Up” and how it really wasn’t an option for most of them.

A little bit of spice

I find its always good to get some of the characters points of view in certain scenes and these do not disappoint. Finding out how Rocket, Brawler, Oscar and Magnum got into the crew is great and Brawlers part eek. If you like the Heights books then this is a must read too. Enjoy.

I didn't know I could love them more

The Uppercut Princess series is amazing, and I have been waiting with bated breath for Crowned Crew. Their backstories add more depth to their already great characters and those POV scenes are more than I ever hoped for.
I loved the peek inside all four guys' heads!

Good, not great

While I really enjoyed reading about these characters again, this book was all either repeated scenes we've already read just in the guys' pov or actual memories of their lives right before they joined the gang. All of these scenes we've gotten from each book in the series in one way or another. There was no new information at all.

Perfect collection of extras

I love my Heights boys and this collection lets them shine. I loved the back stories for all four guys. I loved the different POVs of some of the best scenes from the books. If you are a fan of Kyla and her men , this collection is for you. Must be read after the main books. Heights Crew forever!

Interesting read !

Really enjoyed reading this from the guys view ! However was a little bit all over the place how each chapter started and the ones with Kyla got a bit confusing? Ending was terribly annoying but maybe that's because I wanted to read more and it ended literally on a dead end? OK to pass the time.
