Journey with Stanley, a brave but frightened little being. Abandoned, alone, thrown into a world where fantasy reigns. But it’s only a fantasy for the reader. For Stanley, who must battle an army of tormentors to seek out and rescue the love of his life, it’s all too real. This is not a simple work or a simple story. It is complex, daring, and will compel an emotional response that won’t easily fade.
Megan Allen is a 27 year old California native who received her Bachelor's from UC Berkeley and her Master's in creative writing from the University of Edinburgh. After graduating she spent long periods of time in the deep south visiting her father. And it was there she found inspiration for her debut novel, The Slave Players. She writes, "I grew up naively, and had no idea that racism still prevailed with such intensity in my own country. Then I met Alabama."
Amazingly weird story that will that will give you a real reality check. And then you realize you’re reading about us. All of us. There are so many lessons in here. And the characters who are not exactly human become part of you. It’s hard to explain. Never been anything like this book. Written beautifully and an ending that will certainly bring out the tears. Thank you Goodreads for a fabulous story.
So excellent. Got it. Looked at it. Stumbled through the first 2 chaps wondering what it was all about. Then went on this amazing adventure inside the human body. Stanley is amazing. His girlfriend, Lucy is every great person you've ever known. The evil is really evil, but the love is the best part. Loved this book.

Thank you, Goodreads and Megan Allen for the chance to read Stanley AN Origin of Life Story!
“{To bullies everywhere. Revel in this time. For soon, those who have endured your antagonism will pass you by as they begin to flourish, even as you begin to fade into a life without substance.-Stanley}”
This story was unique. In the beginning I had a hard time getting into it, but as I read that changed. This book is just full of lessons and the ending is heartwarming. It was ok. What stands out the most to me is just how unique it was. I don’t think there has been another book like it. Happy reading everyone!
