Dr. Taden Barrett is credited for having discovered time travel and, along with The Patriot Party—a secret government organization—has used it to resolve a terrorist attack. Dr. Abel Mihal must carry the memories of previous timelines to prevent our nation from crumbling. Can he do this alone?
Facing past life demons and fighting time to beat a power-hungry dictator’s shocking endemic sends each onto their own path of discernment.
I loved the first book in this series, but the second blew me away. It was well worth the wait for book two. This is a fast-paced story for any lover of time-travel novels. The only issue is you’re going to finish it so quickly that you’ll want to read it again! Well, done to the author for writing such a gripping tale. I cannot wait to read more books by her in the future.
Absolutely loved how D.M Taylor continued this book, it is still so very believable that something like this could happen at some point if it isn’t already. The setting is one that is so similar to what surrounds us which is why it is so easy to believe that characters like this are real and things like this are actually going on. This in itself gives the book a terrifying prospective.
Taylor’s writing is definitely similar to that of Blake Crouch and this is a fabulous time travel thriller.
My only gripe is that i wish that there was a way to put all 3 books in to just one singular book
Endemic was well worth the wait!! D.M. Taylor does an amazing job! After reading The Reckoning, I was anxious and excited to see what Taden would be doing next for The Patriots. As I was reading, I felt so many emotions and connections to the characters. Taden's character continues to be strong and selfless, but I found comfort in seeing her vulnerable in this book. I was unable to put this book down and in fact, ignored all three of my children while reading it. I cannot wait for the third book now to see how the series continues to unfold.
I purchased this ebook as a follow up to the first book by this author ( The Reckoning) and was not disappointed! I would definitely recommend this book to anybody, it's not just for one type of person or genre. It was a quick and great read, I loved every second of it! I can't wait for the next one.
Inventive and thrilling! Superb follow up to the first book!
Can't wait for the finale! After "The Reckoning", I wasn't sure where the series would take us, but I was so impressed and intrigued by the new plot! Clearly well researched, as the reality and fiction blend into an exciting story, that you can't put down. Warning, this book will only make you even more excited for the final book in the series!!

There are series that I've read where the 2nd book isn't as good as the first book. That is absolutely NOT the case with this series! I must admit, this book is AS GOOD, if not more intriguing than the first book in the series (The Reckoning). As a new author D.M. Taylor has found a way to engage her reader and I found I could not put this book down. I just needed to know what was going to happen next. I LOVE the continued insight into her characters. Ruth & Taden's sisterly bond is so strong that I found myself thinking of my own sister's and how lucky I am to have them. The connections formed within the team (Taden, Dakotah, Quinn, Abel, Ruth, etc.) were complicated and added such depth to the story. I'm a romantic at heart and loved every moment with Taden & Abel... sigh! There is so much more I would love to write about, however, I don't like giving away spoilers in my reviews, so I'll leave it at this.... the twists and turns in this book kept me guessing and wanting more. The cliffhanger at the end... OH MY GOSH... when is the 3rd book going to be here?!?! If you enjoy reading literature that has a great plot, is engaging, leaves you wanting more, and has characters that you truly care about than this book... actually series... is for you!! I highly recommend that you pick up this book immediately! Kudos to D.M. Taylor, I can not wait to read the next book!!
Interesting time travel concept. The characters are so likeable, it took sometime for me to know them all because I haven't read the first book, but once I did, they felt so real. I'm ready to read The Reconning and see what I've missed. I loved the theme of the preservation of memories, it added depth to the idea of time-travel. I enjoyed the romantic subplot quite a bit; seeing the growing relationship between Taden and Abel from both perspectives was very very interesting. The exciting twists kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the ending, I definitely didn't see it coming. This book was a nice change from what I usually read. I was looking for a good sci-fi story and this book was on time for me:)
Imagine, if you will, that you could pinpoint a time in history where things started going terribly wrong. Then imagine you were a brilliant scientist who devised a way to go back in time to change things, only to discover the altered timeline has its own set of problems to correct. Thus is the challenging life of Taden Barrett in Endemic, Book 2 of The Reckoning series. It’s not an easy task to juggle memories from alternate histories, especially when it confuses who you identify as friend and foe! Taylor has conceived an uncomfortably believable tale of governmental corruption with the habit of rising like a phoenix from the ashes.
Endemic is the continued tale of Taden Barrett and her time traveling technology. Her team is working on jumping to the future in order to stop altering the past. The previous president unleashed and endemic and no one knows who to trust, including the new president. The interest in this story is figuring out who works for who and why. It will keep you guessing. The characters are likable, and I enjoyed their dedication to their work and each other. There is more emphasis on the relationships than the time travel compared to the first book. The ending left me wanting to dive into the next book to see what Taden is going to do about that surprising cliffhanger. I recommend reading the first awesome book in this series, The Reckoning, before Endemic.
Wow! I was completely blown away after reading this. D.M. Taylor has done it again! Endemic surprised and delighted me. I absolutely love the bond between Taden and Ruth and the slow burn romance... oh my! The character development in this book is superb and I loved the idea of having a Keeper of Memories. This was a fantastic read! Fast paced, and so enjoyable. I'm already wishing for the third book!
This is a solid first book for this author. Science fiction can often become a convoluted and complicated storyline that leaves a reader confused but not here. The time travel is key to the storyline but it isn’t the whole story. The author doesn’t get so focused on the science that it becomes overwhelming and it doesn’t detract from the story. The fact that the author studied science definitely shows which helps make the concept of time travel more realistic. The focus really is on the characters and their journey to right some wrongs, and the underlying emphasis placed on family, regrets and the desire to do over the past. Taden and her sister Ruth are strong characters that will go to whatever lengths necessary to do what is right but also protect the ones they love. There is danger and betrayal and a budding romance. The evil government coups seems eerily similar to recent events making me wonder if the author isn’t a time traveler herself like Taden. There is a sequel and it will be very exciting to see where the story goes from here.
Another exceptional book by D.M. Taylor. I could hardly put the Endemic down once I began reading. Continuing to grasp my attention with the suspense, twists and turns, right up there with the Twilight series and Hunger Games in my opinion. The memorable Barrett sisters, Taden and Ruth, feel like they would be good friends of mine. The character development is phenomenal. After reading the sneak peek, I am anxiously awaiting the release of the final novel in this gripping time travel trilogy.
First, I have to say that this book was recommended and I didn’t read the first one, so I’ll have to remedy that soon!
I love time travel stories! And this one definitely kept me on my toes. I was a little confused in parts (because I didn’t read the first one) so I recommend reading them in order. Also, the switching/alternating point-of-view shifts threw me off at first, but once I adjusted it was fine. There were lots of twists and surprises, to be expected when you’re altering the past, so I won’t reveal spoilers. Taden is a great character and I rooted for her the whole time. Can’t wait for the next one.
I had patiently waited for the 2nd book for this new authors time travel thriller series, The Reckoning. I can't tell you how impressed I am, she just gets better & better. The only disappointment I have is that I finished it so quickly and I now have to wait for her 3rd book in the series! If you’re looking for a good read, check out her series!
So good!! I could not have predicted the ending, and can’t wait to see what happens next. I love time travel novels and this series is definitely one of my favorites
I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of D.M. Taylor’s second book in this riveting series! Just like while reading Taylor’s first book in this trilogy, The Reckoning, I could not put it down! Her character development is superb and will leave you anxious to turn each page. D.M. was able to provide an opportunity to escape into the pages of her book and ended Endemic with her readers wanting more! I cannot wait to see what happens in Book 3!
Endemic is the second book in D.M. Taylor's time travel thriller series. Endemic picks up where The Reckoning left off, following the same main characters as they work for the secret government agency, The Patriot Party.
Since this is a second book, we get a chance to really get to know the characters in this story. There is a lot of focus on the relationships that were lost, damaged, or changed due to the time travelers' memories vs the rest of the world. The time travelers remember both the old timeline and the new one, while the rest of society only remembers the altered timeline. This concept really gave me a lot to think about, and I enjoyed Taylor's focus on it. I loved some of the interactions between characters where these memories surface and how they deal with them.
The plot was a slow-burn, and I felt anxious to find out where it was going, and what was going on. Ultimately, the plot got really exciting, like really crazy good, it just takes a bit to get to that turning point, so be patient! I loved the lead up to what is going to be an absolutely stunning third book. There's no other way the next one can turn out. Taylor left me with all the jaw-dropping details at the end that have me on edge to get that next book!
Overall, this was an exciting thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Make sure you pick up the first book, The Reckoning, if you haven't read it!
I was provided a gifted copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Thrilled is an understatement to describe how I felt finally receiving the 2nd book in DM Taylor's series! Just like the first book (The Reckoning) I did not want to put this book down until it was finished- I found myself often day dreaming about Taden and Abel and wondering if Maria and Ruth would find their way once again. This series has hit me in the feels in countless way. DM's ability to help her reader relate to many of the varying characters is simply a mystery to me! Once I reached the last page-- oh my! When will the next book be out?!?!
If you are looking for a thriller that also can reach your heart, this is the one for you. I suggest reading it asap- I plan to buy both in the series for my friends for upcoming birthdays, Mother's Day, etc.
I can't say enough about DM Taylor or the characters that she brings to life! A must read!
This book is amazing!! Read it and you won’t be disappointed. I’ll admit I’m a romantic at heart so I love the relationship building between Taden and Abel. Endemic captures the good v. evil rivalry and you find that you can’t put the book down!!
For me, this sequel was even better than the first installment, which was nothing short of exceptional! I cannot express enough how much I love the complex relationships that Taylor has created in her fictional world. Every character feels real and lived in. The conflict, love and emotion conveyed as the story builds is spot on. Also, I found myself becoming anxious and wanting to, Know! Right! Now! What! Happens! Next!! Yet I never became bored… the pace was perfect. For a writer this is tricky, teasing out the suspense at just the right pace. When a writer gets it right, this should be noted and recognized. D.M. Taylor all I can say is, Nice Job! You nailed it again. And finally, ahem… there’s time travel! Without giving spoilers, Taylor did a magnificent job weaving the impact of time travel on memories into the characters’ relationships. And again, these characters! You just need to read it!
What a fantastic sequel in The Reckoning series. Once the storyline was established and all the characters were in place, this book took off - intrigue, action, mystery, and a slow burn romance! It took me a little bit to get into the story, but I don’t mind that AT ALL! I loved how Taylor developed the plot and fleshed out the characters even more. This allowed me, as the reader, to become emotionally attached to them before the real action took place. But wow, once it did, I could not put the book down and finished it way too fast. I enjoyed the continued sisterly relationship between Taden and Ruth – these are such well-written characters. The slow-burn romance had just the right amount of spice and was a welcome addition to the story. I highly recommend this time-travel thriller! I’m excited to read the next book!
Taden is stepping back from time travel, and Abel, aka the keeper of memories, is stepping up. New timelines have formed and Abel (favorite character alert) seems to be able to keep events straight. The events of the Reckoning still weigh heavily on Taden, particularly what happened with Marius. Not only are her memories scrambled, but her own sister is keeping secrets from her, and ghosts from her past come back to haunt her. Also, something is revealed that is startling enough to cause Taden to reconsider time travel, after all. I am blown away by Taylor's mind for not only coming up with this story, but keeping everything straight. This author's talent and passion are evident. It is much like a Dan Brown in the respect that you need to pay close attention to the pieces in the puzzle.
After reading the first book in this series I was anxious to read this 2nd book. I was not disappointed at all! Another wonderful page turner with many twists and turns that I did not expect but the story line all flowed together so nicely and easy to keep up the many time travel situations. Was worth reading and highly recommend this! Now onto the 3rd book in the series. Keep the series going D.M., can't wait for many more of your books!
Taylor weaves a masterful second entry in this time travel series, combining great characters with a thrilling story I just couldn’t put down. Taden’s journey sets us up for a great finale, and I can’t wait to see where the series goes next
Fantastic read!!! D.M.Taylor did a great job of continuing the story from book 1. The story continues with an action packed plot and great character development. It left me wanting more!!!
