Eleanora Pacelli is thrilled to finally be the official owner of Papa Pacelli’s Pizzeria. In an effort to make it feel more real, she decides to make some small changes to the pizzeria, and hires a contractor to install a pickup window in the back. With Christmas drawing near, Ellie’s focus is split between construction plans and preparations for her favorite holiday. The giant pine tree in front of the Pacelli house is just begging to be decorated, and of course there are gifts to buy for all of the people who form her extended family in Kittiport. Ellie’s holiday cheer comes to an abrupt halt when a terrible tragedy occurs during construction. All of her plans for the pizzeria expansion, as well as holiday festivities, get put on hold as she and Russell race to find the killer before someone else gets hurt, but the killer is closer than she ever imagined.
When Cozy Mystery author, Patti Benning, isn’t busy plotting the deaths of multiple fictitious characters, she loves to spend time hiking with her rescue dog, Max, who is her bestest writing buddy.
Patti loves to cook and the food in her books has been tried and tested in her very own kitchen. She’s technologically shy, and stays away from social media a great deal, because it makes her feel more awkward and introverted than meeting someone face to face.
Writing is the perfect job for her because in her books, she gets to explore all the topics she loves, food, animals, crafts and reading. She loves her readers dearly, and is thankful for the opportunity to share with them through her work.

Ellie is going to put a drive up window at the pizzeria. The first contractor is murdered and the second attacked. It all comes to a happy ending with the arrest of the killer.
I would recommend this series and author to readers of romantic family and friends relationships adventure mystery novels 🏚😮🎶🤔 2024 👒😁
This was definitely an enjoyable book. One of the things I love about this series is the description of the pizzas, and this one does not disappoint. The mystery itself was good, and I was shocked by the reveal.
This isn't even worthy of a review, so I'll just say that Ellie is quite possibly the dumbest character I've ever seen. Have a big hole in the wall of your pizzeria? Just staple a few sheets of plastic over it for a week while you worry about if it's too soon to hire another contractor. And by all means, leave all the cash in the cash drawer, because those few sheets of plastic will deter any burglar. I'm out. Cute characters or not, it's just too implausible to continue reading this series.
Diciamo 4 meno.
Ellie wants to put a window in the pizzeria, now that it's officially her's, she has a few changes in mind but when there's a murder and a attempted murder, progress slows down with a hole in the pizzeria she tries to balance taking care of the shop and Christmas. I love this series and I'm trying to catch up as I read both new releases and slightly older books of the same series.
Ellie decides to kick off being the owner of the pizzeria by installing a drive through pick up window. What starts out as a positive idea rapidly falls apart as her contractor is found murdered outside the employee door. From there the troubles spiral. Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending. A fun read.
Patti did it again! That's all I can say. I never really say what happens in these books because I don't want to give anything away. Trust me, it is awesome. Fun and engaging and will have you until the end!
Entertaining, suspenseful, wonderful. Great characters. Christmas festivities. New food combinations. A slowly budding romance. A cozy mystery, a pizzeria owner that seems to find trouble without looking for it, and a twist ending!!
If you are looking for a fast fun mystery with food that will make you hungry this is it. These, are quick reads with fast wrap ups. Poor Ellie has no luck but she gas friends and family that she loves. Installing a take out window turns into murder quickly.
I enjoyed this book and I know I'm far behind but there is too much description and detail in this pizza series that I skip through. I can't wait to read the next one.
This is the first mystery I have read by Patti Banning and I found it to be entertaining and enjoyable. I like the characters and the story moved right along. Looking forward to another story in the series.
Her grandmother has now gifted the family pizzeria to Ellie and she is finalizing plans to install a drive-thru window in the alley behind the building. Having chosen a contractor she closes the shop and leaves the contractor and his crew to the job. Expecting to be closed for day or two, Ellie is surprised to get a frantic phone call from her employees to come to the shop and meet the police. Her contractor has been found murdered by the dumpster, leaving a hole in the back wall for the pickup window to be installed. When a second contractor is attacked while trying to install the window, Ellie starts to investigate so she can just get the job finished. The characters have become old friends and I enjoy the pizzeria set on the Maine seacoast. The murders are well thought out and will keep you guessing. The perfect adventure for any reader of mysteries, cozy or traditional!
This is truly a great series. Ellie and Nonna have a remarkable relationship that you watch grow in every new book. The characters are well developed and the plots don't get muddy. Great writing!
It's Christmastime in Maine and Ellie is working on ways to improve service at the pizzeria. Her newest idea is a drive-up window to pick up orders. Although it is getting colder she decides to take estimates and go ahead with the minor construction project.
The restaurant is decorated and Ellie and Nonna start in on the house. Ellie's father and aunt have been invited to celebrate with them, but chances are it will just be the two of them. Just as the peace of the holiday is settling in with everyone it is shattered by a murder.
While Russell works to find the killer, Ellie works to stay away from the investigation and finish the restaurant project. Unfortunately for her, that just isn't going to work out at planned.
I love everything about this book. The characters, the action, the season. Patti does a fabulous job of pulling it all together in this cozy mystery. I'm looking forward to Ellie's next adventure.
Another great addition to this series. One of the things I like most about this series, other than all the pizza of course, is how you can see relationships deepening and in Russell's case relaxing and not always be in Sheriff mode.
Ellis decides to put in a take out window for customers that have called in their orders if they are picking up only. Ellies first contractor is murdered, her second contractor injured, and her third not yet hired. It's Christmas eve and as Ellie is putting her employees gifts out the killer arrives. After a narrow escape and Russell locking up th prisoner, they postpone Christmas eve dinner until Christmas day.
A really nice read. I received an ARC of this book. And voluntarily did this review
Gourmet Holiday Murder is the newest addition to the Papa Pacelli series by Patti Benning. With Christmas right around the corner and a crazy killer on the loose can the holidays be saved? A fun cozy that will leave you guessing until the end. As always looking forward to reading the next book in the series
It's very busy time for Ellie as she is in the middle of contruction for the Pizzeria & the holidays are approaching. A tragedy occurs that makes the up coming festivities come to a screening halt. Can she & Russell figure things out before the holidays are ruined for good? Pick up a copy to find out.
When Eleanora decides to make a drive thru for the pizzeria and people start ending up dead or hurt, of course she has to take it into her own hands to figure out what is going on. I love this series and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Another body at the the pizzeria ..... Why did the contractor get murdered? Who is involved? Russell and Ellie struggle for answers..... Last question... Who hired the killer?
I liked the story line and this is a great series. I read it tonight and really got into the Christmas theme but I figured out the Killer right away. I don't know if I am getting better at it or if it was not up to par on who could have been the Killer.
I was completely surprised by who the killer was in this one. I totally thought it was someone else. I am anxious to see what the future holds for Ellie.
