After tightening the Bonds with his friends, Sean worked toward new things and trying to fix past mistakes. He and his growing family had just moved into a new home and hired on new staff for day-to-day matters. All he wanted to do was craft and love his wives, and it seemed like the peaceful life he hoped for might be within his reach.
Denmur and Lord Sharpeyes would not let that happen. Using their connections, they put into motion a chain of events that would reverberate across the city of Hearthglen. Sean was called to attend the Lord’s party— he came, bringing all of his family and friends with him.
Both sides were surprised by events as they unfolded, and it quickly became apparent that conflict would not be denied. With the Einherjar, a Valkyrie, and an old foe, Velin Dykstra, backing them up, Evan Sharpeyes and Klein Denmur challenged Sean to trial by combat.
Exhausted and with depleted energy, Sean still led his wives onto the field of battle. The fight was bloody and taxing, but in the end, Sean struck down Evan Sharpeyes before collapsing. With his eyesight fading, Sean looked at his wives, but only saw a few female-like figures rushing toward him. The last sound he heard was a great many wings converging on him, and his mind drifted to thoughts of Morrigan...
Word of Sean’s victory spread throughout the city, but none could say whether he had survived to enjoy it.
(This work contains adult situations that some might find offensive, the least of which is graphic sex. This book is about an Overpowered MC, and contains a harem. You’ve been warned.)

When new books first release I do my best to read them slowly. I'm not a fan of waiting many months, getting a new book, finishing in two days, and asking for more. However, although I tried that with this book, it was so amazing, so emotional, so epic, then I just couldn't stop!
The tale of Sean and his wives continues. The side characters are never left out, there are not so many stories going on that it's hard to keep track, and things happen at a good pace. Sometimes we skip a few hours, and other times a few days. The way the author writes the pacing works very well for what's happening. If we were to include all the minutiae the book, while longer, wouldn't be as exciting. I personally enjoy how the author paces and spaces.
As I mentioned, the book started very heavy. It was very emotional, and it was a rough start after the wait since the previous book. This was eventually alleviated, and in a fantastic way. I like how the author addressed the issue at the beginning of the book. I also like how it expanded later.
I simply cannot say enough good things about this entry in the series. The new character, referencing other ideas and worlds, there is even a joke about one of the author's other series. I also really enjoyed how this entry ended; it feels like we tied up a number of loose ends and have really paved the way forward. I'm a little sad I couldn't put this book down and have to wait so long for the next entry, but it's a wonderful problem to have.
There are many LitRPG series, but this one remains my favourite. The RPG aspects are a means to an end, not an end in themselves, and in fact in this book they’re used with such a light touch that it wouldn’t be unreasonable to question whether this is a good LitRPG book, or just a good book, full stop.
This chapter of the story focuses on character and skill development, while dealing with the fallout of the last book, and clearly building up to a major confrontation that did not happen in at all the way I expected - it’s good to know the author can still surprise me even though I’ve read several of his other books.
While there are sexy scenes, they’re not overdone - only a little more than mainstream fantasy fiction, and deftly avoiding the common harem-lit pitfall of repetitive sex scenes.
About the worst criticism I can level against this story is that the cast is huge, so a quick reminder at the start of the next book about who is who, and how they got where they are, would be very handy!
In summary, a damn fine book, but if you’re new to the series I urge you to go back and start with the first one, because it’s worth it!
Oke..... This is book 6. The previous 5 were all pretty good and this one fits neatly in that catergory. Now with the sixth novel tension continues to rise and blood begins to flow. With having his power slowly becoming public and being noticed by the powers that be in Heartglen, Sean has to step up his game.
Like the previous novels this novel continues to fold themes of Slice-of-life, empire building and LitRPG in one. Schinhofen does a good job of this while slowly ramping up the powerlever without absurd levels of power degrading the storytelling itself. With a few now bonds added and new relationships underway this novel could to be the slow turning-point for the story as a whole. With one new and major reveal early in this novel a new direction can be seen at the horizon. I'm very much interested to see where this is going and eagerly away the 7th novel in the series.
There seemed to be a lot more back stabbing, near death and deaths in this book than any of the previous books. The treachery of characters was very Machiavellian to keep you guessing who was plotting what as Sean pushes forward with his technological advancements. Hard to put down, lucky I was still on my Christmas break from work. An excellent book, which had me in tears in parts smiles in part and angry in others. Daniel is so good with his words moving the reader with the emotional roller coaster of his books. Can’t wait for more in this series which is one of his best.
The declarations of justice given in the opening set the stage for a toothless, useless main character. His actions to defend those close to him remain solely reactionary and late. The ending fracas only happens due to the supposed villains reckless outburst. The series stretches out too far while accomplishing nothing and giving indistinguishable, interchangeable characters.
4.5 stars. Well-executed, but excessive (imo) slice-of-life keeps it from being "great" for me. If you've made it this far in the series you know what to expect and won't be disappointed. The next book should see some resolution to the root of the problem that has afflicted Sean & Co. since the beginning, but in any event the gloves have to come all the way off.
I’ve come to expect superior writeyness for Daniel (apparently we’re on a first name basis now) and this book doesn’t disappoint. Intrigue, betrayal, vengeance and some shabby stabby action (of both kinds, knowwhatimean?).
I give it ten out of five stars and three thumbs up!
Generally by book for or five authors have issues with their storyline going still, however you won’t see that in this one!A great addition to the series with more crafting, more trips to the court, and even a few beheadings, this book does not disappoint
I couldn't put it down Yeah there were a few cringe moments and a few WTF moments, but if you've loved this series so far you shouldn't be disappointed.
My journey through Daniel's extensive catalog continues as I finish another 450+ page book in under two days, all while working. Now I have week-offs, so who knows, maybe I will be done with books 7 & 8 by then. I might not be positive on that, but the thing I am positive about is that now I will continue to love the remaining books in the series, hopefully. Let's go and find out by Keep on Reading.
People who don't read generally ask me my reasons for reading. Simply put, I love reading, so I have made it my motto to Forever Keep on Reading. I love reading everything except for self-help books, even occasionally. I read almost all the genres, but YA, Fantasy, and Biographies are the most read. My favorite series is Harry Potter, but then there are many more books I adore. I have bookcases filled with books that are waiting to be read, so I can't stay and spend more time on this review. Remember, I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love, and then just Keep on Reading.
Oh where to start, this book had me feeling some kinda way our guy sean, the best guy is at it again with inventions and plot twist abound so many good and bad things happened. I dont want to spoil it but let's just say the squeeze gets tight on forged bonds and we get to see sean grow in many ways
A Fantastic Book! Well Worth All of the BS I Had to go through to Finally Read It!
A fantastic book in my favorite series. The action is nearly non-stop and it is a great rollercoaster ride. The characters grow through out and we definitely get some closure with of course setting us up for much more to come!
A good addition to the series. By now everyone should know what they are getting with this book. There are no departures from the expected. Sean starts the book by grieving for his wives that he lost. He works hard to make everyone better and have everyone get stronger. He is becoming more than he was. The gloves are now off when dealing with his enemies and things come to a head in the end. He still has many more enemies to deal with in the next book. Overall I enjoy this series. It is one of the better ones from this author.
I really love this next installment in the series. This is a story about a nice guy who just wants to enjoy life. He is living in a New world of magic where he just wants to craft things explore his new abilities make friends and help them where he's able. And the lucky guy has not one but many wives who he has no idea how they fell in love with him. He is filled with compassion for both his family and his friends and wants to see them succeed in life. Unfortunately there are those in this world who are unscrupulous and power hungry.
If you haven’t read from morrigans binding then your missing out this latest book in the series is just as good if not better, as most fans know a sequel has to be good otherwise the franchise flops this book does not disappoint a rollercoaster of emotions from the end of book 5 into this book of sadness then anger to forgiveness then retribution, a long road to get to this point but it has been well worth the wait between books, if only the author did not have so many great series coming out sadly I have to read all of his other great series before he can bring binding words number number seven for me to binge read in one go.
I hate you Schinhofen for writing such good books and leaving us all wanting more!!! No seriously though I LOVE your stories and can't stop reading them. I wish they took me longer than a day or two to read, but you have a knack for grabbing hold and not letting go.
I have just finished this book and OMG I loved it. I loved it so much that I think taking a day off work to read the book instead of waiting for audiobook was well worth. I wish i could it 1000 stars. I know this is the same as I put for book 5 but I did read them back to back and loved them so much I may even go back to book one and start again.
The story is picking up the pace, yet keeping close to the ideals of the MC. He wishes to craft and enjoy his loved ones, people just keep messing with those two objectives. So, instead he finds ways to make them regret such. Looking forward to next in this series.
Definitely liked that this book ended on a happier note than the last one, even if the beginning was a lot sadder. Love Helga and what her powers bring to the group as well as the revelation of what Sean's Godling status means. While not slice of life, have always enjoyed this series more mundane approach to a story and how it doesn't always need to be filled with action.
One of my favorite series. This book ties up a bunch of things from the previous books and leaves us looking forward to what comes next. I am so looking forward to seeing how Sean handles not only the enemies of his family but all the coming additions to his family. Super excited for 7 :)
Major ups and downs in this book and all of them were emotionally charged. An amazing book and honestly a joy to read, but I also feel like I just got punched in the gut. Looking forward to reading it again and then listening to it once it's out on audible
This book was sad, happy, exciting and just all around amazing. It picks up right where the last left off and keeps this great series going. The kick to the feels is hard and sets a somber tone but the MC and his family don’t disappoint you and show what they can do. Loved this book and can’t wait for the next.
Wow didn’t expect things to happen the way they did. Definitely keeps getting better. It’s going to be a long wait to learn what happens next. It’s always worth the wait though so I’ll endure.
Very good book and a very excellent series. It's just like the rest of the series very good and will keep u reading and not want to put it down. Can't wait till the next book
First of shame on daniel for making me cry. That being said wow this book has a lot to process. Well written and compelling. Now begins my wait for the next.
Of you have been reading this series so far you will truly enjoy this book! The author has taken to heart and created a great continuation of the story. There are tests and fist pumps in this book.
This time it will be easier to wait for next in the series.😉
So, before continuing reading book six, I was able to pretty much guess what will happen. Just about a repeat of the previous books. The series is well written and I like the dialogue between the characters. If this was just a slice-of-life story, it would have been good, however it is not just a slice-of-slice story. The main character (mc) Sean continues to be reactionary and passive most of the time. No matter how many friends and wives he has lost, or how many attempts at his life and those close to him have been in danger. The mc seems continue repeating the same actions as before, but expecting different results.
Also, the reliance of the guards to figure out who is behind the attempts at his groups lives has become a joke. Since, book 2 the guards have yet to figure out the first attempt. So, not sure what Sean and his friends are hoping after the umpteenth time at his life.
Sean receives continual praise by his wives and friends that he his powerful, that he might be a demigod. Sean has had the same antagonist for about six books and it seems that it will continue for several more. He is reminds me of the typical Isekai mc that goes to a new world with strong powers, but is passive and usually fears nobility, because somehow a god(s) would fear nobility.
