The first time we met, I was rescuing her from a cult. The second time I laid eyes on her was when she showed up at Cerberus with a secret, asking me for an unthinkable favor. What she was offering was something I never thought I could have, so I readily agreed. I wanted more than just her secret though. How can I convince my wife to fall in love with me when someone else is threatening to take it all away? Contains mature themes.
Marie James is a mother of two boys and wife of 17 years. She's spent most of her life lifetime living in central Texas, with only short stays in South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. Her passions include reading everything under the sun and sewing, although she doesn't get to sew much these days!.
Writing has always been a passion and she's enjoying every step of the journey!
I can't believe that we are on book 18 of this series and it is still as fresh and spellbinding as the first. Once again Maries James has produced a unique must-read book with an equally equal couple.
All the men of the Cerberus MC are swoon-worthy, in fact, I don't think I have read an MC series with men as swoon-worthy as these! And, to be honest, I was wondering how Ms James was going to add Apollo to that list as he is our resident heartthrob, no attachment kinda guy, but when April turns up months after he and the MC helped her escape from a cult that she had grown up in wanted his help, even though her sister was with of the MC brothers, he jumped right in to help.
I don't want to give too much away in the review, other than to say, April and Apollo's relationship starts back to front, but it was great to see how they manoeuvred their way to their HEA.
My interest in this was quipped but I did think we would see more of the cult playing a part in this one not the ex boyfriend. Apollo was so sweet I loved it and it had me wanting to read it and not have to force myself to like the previous one
Apollo is a little sweeter than some of the past Cerberus MC stories however in saying that it suited this story perfectly. Apollo made a promise and when April turns up on his doorstep it will be one promise that he will keep. A story of doing everything backwards but it just might be the perfect way to start their relationship. As trust turns into so much more, Apollo will find himself in a position he never thought possible for his future. The sexual tension between these two has you on the edge of your seat and the care and love that Apollo shows April can be felt warming the pages of their story. This one touches your heart, pulls you in and has you breathless at times. It was emotional, passionate, swoon worthy and had just enough angst and drama to keep you enchanted by this couple. An absolute beautiful love story of taking chances and finding your true home when you least expect it.
I loved this book. I love the Cerberus MC in general so I love getting to dive back into this world. Plus you always get to see not only the new couple but catch up with all the past couples. Which I love.
April & Nate we’re one surprise after another. I wasn’t sure how it was all going to work out but of course it worked out in the best ways even if there were some bumps in the road. Nate is one of my favourite characters after reading his story, not many men would do what he did. Seriously the sweetest, kindest, honest, & most honourable man. April is one lucky lucky woman. She had been dealt some crap hands in life so she deserved a man like Nate. Plus these two were just so damn cute together!
I do wish we had gotten a slightly longer ending but only because I wanted more…like always. I can’t wait for the next book to come back to this amazing world.
I always enjoy reading about Cerebus MC. Every book is always as good as the last. I will never get tired of this crew.
This book was definitely different than previous books as it wasn't as much drama or dark as others. I knew I would enjoy it bc I always loved Apollo. I remember him in Drew's book when he stepped up to the plate willing to take care of Izzy and her son. He was always a good hearted man and he displayed it in this book.
I wasn't as conflicted with April as I thought I would be with her constant insecurities bc I knew it was her condition response from growing up in a cult.
This book definitely involved more of the characters we loved in previous books and more happy endings on their part as well. I definitely smiled a lot in this book.
Can't wait till read Legend's book. Him and Grinch's book I know will be entertaining.
When April found herself in a difficult situation with minimal options she turns to the man who was there when she needed someone the most. He made her a pledge that she never thought she would have to accept and now she just he will be the man she needs him to be.
Apollo thought that the only family he would have is the Cerberus MC however when April comes to his door that all changes. He is determined to protect her and the surprise that she is carrying, and they may just find what has been missing in their lives.
Although April and Apollo may be an unlikely match and had some obstacles to overcome in the end all that matters is the love they have for each other.
Apollo went out to California to help rescue Caras sister April from a cult her mother put her in. April arrives on the steps of the clubhouse tired and pregnant. Apollo needs to let everyone know he is not the father. April has a lot of explaining to do also. This book had a lot of new feelings for both Apollo and April. Great book as always from this author. Can not wait to see what else she has in store for us.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Apollo is a man of his word. When April comes around asking for a huge life changing favor. He goes all out. These men never fail to throw you for a loop. Back to Apollo and April. I totally loved their story. April was brought up in what I feel is a sheltered life style with so many rules. I loved how Apollo helped her see there is alot more than what she was taught. I just wish there was a little more on these two. I guess I will have to wait.
As with every book in the Cerberus MC series this book hit the five-star rating. Apollo was just the man that would be able to help April out.
This author knows how to write a book that takes you in and keeps you totally invested in it. This whole series is worth checking out. Incredible series!!
I’ve been waiting for Apollo’s story and it did not disappoint. He seemed like a nice guy looking to have a special lady of his own from an earlier book.
This series is very good. Although it is about members of the MC and their loved ones, each book has been fresh and different.
Cerebrus MC strikes again and I still can't get enough. I loved Apollo's character, his patience, his back story and everything about him. Poor April has had quite the go of life and watching her develop and learn filled my heart. This was another masterpiece in the series.
After the last book (which I hated), I almost gave up on Cerberus, but because I'm 18 books in, I decided to give it a go.
I LOVED it! Yes, there wasn't as much action or spice as usual, but I appreciated actually getting to know this couple and them having genuine chemistry, unlike the last mess.
April grew up in a cult, but was allowed to go to school because her birth was on record.. The cult leader didn't want attention from the law her not attending. A high school boy took advantage of her, and she ended up pregnant. She was rescued by Apollo and a few other guys. She remembered Apollo and he was the only man she ever felt safe with, so she ended up on the Cerberus doorstep with a request.
They get married with him vowing to raise the baby and be there for April, which made sense considering his history with Izzy. The relationship grew and it was beautiful to see.
I really don't like all the hate April is getting in other reviews. While she didn't want to be in the cult or marry the leader, I felt like her thought processes still made sense. She still heard their preaching her entire life and it's hard to let go of those things that have been indoctrinated into you.
The only thing that was ridiculous was the attorney not just telling April that Cory's parents didn't have a shot at getting custody of the baby. Why would they? Their kid knocked up April and bailed. She's married to a man connected to the government (Some of them played secret service). Grandparents have a hard time forcing visitation, let alone getting custody when the mother is completely clean and has a good head on her shoulders. So that was a bit silly. While I don't have a problem feigning reality with some things, I hate when it's general law that the entire US population is aware of. Any attorney would have told April not to worry when she has no criminal history, no history of drug use and is married to an ex marine that rescues abused and trafficked women.
Apollo was an absolute dream!!! He was patient, kind, and gentle. April was young, but I still found their connection and love to be genuine. 5 Stars all the way.

This one started off rough for me, it was so unbelievable 🤦🏾♀️ But I love this series and author so I just kept reading and I’m so glad 😀. April was a fish out of water she was so insecure and lost but Apollo was freaking amazing with her 🥰 it was a cute read. Can’t wait to see what else this series holds for me!
This is the most endearing, heartfelt, heartwarming and sweetest journeys to go on with the Cerberus MC. Apollo is everything any girl would want, April is one lucky girl. I actually felt like I was going on this ride right along with them. Marie James never disappoints. I enjoyed everything about this book.
I enjoy all the books. I can't put them down. This book seems to me my liking because of the sex and the language is not there like others. The books are great. The family of guys is amazing. How they treat their women is wonderful. They are a lot younger in the books, so me being old. I have a different view. I still love the series.
I loved what we saw of Apollo in a previous book when he was willing to take over as father and love him even more here. Sure, he made some dumb mistakes (like why go over to another woman's house in the middle of the night instead of the daytime?) but he admitted to them and tried to do better. He just seemed like a good guy all around.
I love the MC series... marriage of convenience plot. She's pregnant. He marries her. What I didn't understand is that he slept with everyone before her and then suddenly fell for her and didn't have eyes for anyone else.
Omg Apollo has been adorable since he first showed up in previous books & in Drew’s book it kinda broke his heart not to get to be a Dad to Andy but now we see why he wanted so badly to be there for Izzy!!! Happy that years later he got his true love & family!!!! So this a definite MUST read
I just love this MC family. April was part of the cult that Apollo and Legend rescued from. She comes to him a favor, he'll do anything for her. Their relationship is sweet and caring. On to the next book.
April and Apollo start life together in tolerance, then in like and then they discovered that they actually love each other so remember you can grow into love.
Apollo didn't disappoint us! He is every bit of an overprotective partner and didn't surprise me at all how fast he fell when he met April! This MC family is such a joy to read!
This was a good story about Apollo. The fact that he quickly assumed another man's responsibilities was heartwarming. Seeing that he wanted a family didn't make his actions shocking. The author always does a great job keeping prior characters involved. Gigi is hilarious in every story too. 🤣🤣🤣
I think Apollo may have stolen my heart where the Cerberus guys are concerned. Each new book brings a new favorite couple for me but seriously Apollo just had something extra!
For whatever reason, Apollo was one of the guys that I was looking super forward to his book. I don't know. I can't explain why it didn't satisfy me. The dirty talk at first was hot though lol.
